실을 이용한 생명 에너지의 추상적 표현

Abstract

생명현상은 생명체의 생성, 성장, 소멸의 과정으로 나타난다. 이러한 과정에 생명의 근원적 임인 생명 에너지가 흐름으로써 생명체는 생명현상을 경험하게 된다. 생명체는 살아있는 존재이기에 움직임을 갖으며, 삶의 경험을 바탕으로 성장해 나간다. 생명 에너지는 살아있는 모든 것에 내재되어 있는 것으로 살아 움직이며 환경 또한 다른 생명체와 유기적인 관계를 맺는 힘을 갖고 있다. 이러한 유기적인 관계 속에서 생명 에너지는 끊임없이 흐르고 있는 잠재태로 존재하며 모이고 흩어지면서 생명을 생성하기도 소멸시키기도 한다. 살아있는 존재로서 인간은 생명현상의 근원적인 힘인 생명에너지를 내포하며 살아간다. 살아있는 생명체에게 나타나는 생명현상 안에서 인간의 삶을 들여다보면 살아서 존재한다는 것의 반대쪽에는 죽음으로써 소멸하는 것이 있음을 알 수 있다. 본 연구자에게 이러한 죽음에 대한 인식이 살아있는 존재를 더욱 집중해서 바라보게 되는 밑바탕이 되었다. 살아 있는 생명체는 움직이며 그것을 바탕으로 성장한다. 이에 본 연구자는 생명체의 움직이는 현상에서 느껴지는 생명 에너지에 관한 이론적 탐구를 바탕으로 한 작품 제작을 통하여 생명 에너지의 움직임을 표현하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 생명 에너지의 움직이는 현상을 추상적으로 표현한 조형작업을 8점 제작하는 것이다. 끊임없이 이어지고 있는 생명 에너지는 작품 안에서 길게 이어지는 특징을 지닌 ‘선(線)’으로 추상화시켰다. 운동성을 내포하는 선(線)은 비가시적이고 움직임이 있는 생명 에너지를 표현함에 있어서 가장 함축적인 형태로 드러낼 수 있는 성질을 지닌다. 동양회화의 수묵화에서 선은 예술가가 바라본 세상에 대한 내면적 성찰을 내포하고 있다. 이는 하나로 보이는 선 안에 무수히 많은 생각들과 경험들의 함축을 의미한다. 따라서 이러한 정신성이 담긴 선(線)을 통하여 실을 캔버스 위에 접착시켜 응집과 확산의 표현방법으로 생명 에너지를 표현하였다. 이때 무수히 많은 실들이 응집되어 나타나는 유기적인 선(線)으로 표현된 생명 에너지는 응집되어 생성되는 생명의 모습이기도하며, 실의 추상적 표현은 응집과는 반대적인 면으로 소멸의 의미를 내포한다. 본 연구자는 생명 에너지의 움직임을 주제로 조형화 하는 과정 속에서 조형의식을 확대시키는 것은 물론, 인간으로서 진정한 삶의 의미를 찾고 변화하는 세상을 바라보는 의식을 넓히고자 한다.;The phenomenon of life appears in the process of its generation, growth and extinction of a living body. Through this process flows the origin strength of life- life energy, thus causing a living body to experience a life phenomenon. A living body is an existence alive, so it has movements and comes into growth on the basis of life experience. Life energy is intrinsic in all things alive, which is living alive, and environment also has a strength to make an organic tie with other life bodies. In such an organic relationship, life energy exists as a dormant shape incessantly flowing, and it generates life or causes life to become extinct while gathering and scattering. As a living existence- human beings lead their living containing life energy- an original strength of a life phenomenon. Looking into the life of human beings in a life phenomenon exposed from a living body, we can recognize that there exists a thing that becomes extinct by death on the opposite side of the existence alive. To this researcher, such consciousness of death has become the basis of looking more intensively at the existence alive. A living body is moving, on the basis of which it grows. With this, this researcher intended to express the movement of life energy through the production of a work based on theoretical exploration about life energy which is felt from a moving phenomenon of a living body. The purpose of this research is to produce 8 formative works which express the moving phenomenon of a living body in the abstract. This researcher abstracted the life energy, which is linked endlessly, into a "line" having a characteristic of being linked long in the work. The "Line" connoting mobility has a property which can expose life energy in the most implicative shape in expressing life energy which is invisible and mobile. In an Indian ink painting of an Oriental painting, a "line" connotes internal introspection of the world in the eyes of an artist, which means a connotation of countless ideas and experiences in one line on the surface. Therefore, this researcher expressed life energy in the expressional method of cohesion and diffusion by adhering a thread to a canvas through the "line" filled with such spirituality. The life energy expressed, at this moment, as an organic "line" which appears in cohesion of countless numbers of threads is also an appearance of life generated by cohesion while the abstract expression in a thread connotes the meaning of extinction, contrary to cohesion. This researcher, in the formational process of life energy by the theme of its movements, intends not only to expand the formative consciousness but also to look after the meaning of an authentic life as a human as well as to broaden one's consciousness of looking at the changing world.
