복본(復本)의 모색

Abstract

‘복본(復本)’은 ‘본성(本性)의 회복’, ‘인성(人性)과 신성(神性)의 합일(合一)’을 뜻하지만 ‘성스러움은 무엇인가?’하는 정의를 구하는 것은 아니다. 본성에 대한 완결된 분석이나 개념화를 지향하지도 않는다. 그것은 이성 의존적인 것이 아니라 상상 의존적이며 분석이 아니라 시심(詩心)에 의해서 발견하거나 지어낼 수 있다. 중요한 것은 본성의 회복을 ‘지향함’ 그 자체다. 또 그것이 삶을 다스리는 어떤 경험으로 실재하는 사실을 승인하고 겪는 것, 그 경험의 내용이다. 따라서 복본은 성스러운 본질을 향하고는 있지만 동시에 현실적 개인의 사적 경험과 의미화라는 가공성을 포함한다. 엘리아데(Mircea Eliade)의 고대 존재론, 창세신화, 니체의 ‘초월의지’, ‘성현(聖賢, hierophany)’ 등은 본인이 개인적 차원에서 복본의 얼개를 짜는 데에 징검다리이자 촉매로 작용하였다. 본인의 작업은 복본에 대한 개인적 차원의 이해와 태도의 변화와 함께 다양한 방식으로 진행된다. 신화를 되읊거나 시공간의 갱신을 촉구하기도 하고 일상적 자연현상에 대한 소박한 관찰이 되기도 한다. 성(聖)을 본성으로 하는 인간에 대한 막연한 지향으로부터 ‘지금 여기’에 성의 발현을 요청하는 ‘실제성(實際性)’을 획득하려는 시도의 방향으로 변해왔다. 논의의 후반에 이르면 지속적인 속의 시간과 단절적인 성의 시간은 뒤집힌다. 성은 더 이상 제의나 축제와 같이 이례적 상황에만 발현되고 속의 시간에 삽입되는 비일상적 사건이 아니라 보편적 일상에서 경험되고 실재하는 무엇이 된다. 순간적인 속(俗)의 세계를 존재케 하는 멈춤이 있을 수 없는 지속적인 힘으로서의 성이다. 아직 정밀하지 않은 복본의 의미가 앞으로 진행될 논의를 통해 조금이라도 구체화 되어 전달 될 수 있기를 바란다.;The theme word of this thesis, 'Bokbun (regression to the original nature)', implies 'restoring the origin' or 'the unity of human nature and divinity, but it doesn't give a definition about the question, 'What is sacredness?' nor have an intention for a complete analysis or conceptualization about true natures. It is something to be discovered or created by not depending on reason but imagination and with not analyses but poetic disposition. What matters is 'intending' to restore the natures itself. In addition, it is experience to 'undergo' and approve the fact that it exists as particular experience governing our life. In composing a frame of Bokbun close to 'a direction', which is not really precise yet, Mircea Eliade's Ancient Ontology and Creation Mythology and Niche's 'Transcendental Will' and 'Hierophany', etc. played a role as a catalyst as well as stepping stones. In the work of mine, seeking Bokbun is carried out along with the change of my attitude towards and comprehension about sacredness and secularity, followed by reciting myths, urging for the renewal of space and time, or naively observing daily natural phenomena. The work changes from a vague inclination toward humans, having sacredness as their nature, to the acquisition of 'practicality' requiring the revelation of sacredness 'right here'. After all, the continuous time of secularity and the disconnected time of sacredness are reversed. Sacredness is not a disconnected event inserted into the time of secularity. The purpose of the research is to discover sacredness with the continuous force without pauses making it possible for the secular world to exist. Sacredness is not a non-daily event revealed in exceptional occasions such as a chasuble and a festival any longer but something to undergo and really exist in our universal daily routine.
