환경지각이론의 기능주의적 접근에 의한 전시환경 디자인 모형사례연구

Abstract

Nowadays, not only the destruction of environment but also the obliteration of humanity that showed through selfishness resulted from the misunderstanding of the relationship between nature, human beings, and environment. Today, it is possible to foresee the end of human race due to the devastation of the ecosystem and the polluted environment. Hence, in order to be relieved from the ecological crisis, a new ideology based on human and environment needs to be found through introspection of the value of existence of human and the meaning of life in social and all other areas of studies. Physical environment has a great effect on every individual in all ways. Just like how Physical environment has influences on our actions, most of our actions also have influences on the environment. Besides humans, all living creatures are also well adapted to their environment. If they fail to adjust to it. They extend the living area due to selection and at times reconstruct the environment to make adaption easier for them. Just like our creatures, humans have abilities to accommodate to natural condition like climate and genuine features. Also, humans have continued their studies, artificially manipulating or reforming the natural environment, to lessen the effects of the environment. As humans particularly, have many activities concerning the environment, when discussing the relationship between human and the surroundings, they have found it insufficient to only deal with the activities within the concerned environmental area and its reaction or the explanation of adapting mechanism about them. As environmental means all that is around us, its content or format is very complicates. These environmental conditions(environmental element and system) are continuing to have influence of the minds and bodies of human body reacts to these conditions and strive to harmonize with the surroundings in the process of adjustment. The key note of this research is to induct the basic concept of environmental psychology within the positive concept of environmental design theory and to elucidate the inclusive theory of whether the concept of environmental psychology has a common point between the physical formation of the environment and the correlation of humans. The main purpose of research on human perceptions and psychology is to combine design with sociology, psychology, statistics, and anthropology. Despite the difference in traditional points of views in the two areas that showed in the interest of designers and scientists in human's sensations and studies of psychology, it is necessary to think about the feasibility which combines the two distinct characteristics of environmental psychological research and the necessity of the point that everyone can agree upon and the cooperative structure. This research having been mainly focused on these points, the fact that former 'environment psychological design consideration' especially, the process of humans' perception, the stimulation and reaction of phenomenon, and the research of personal space behavioral theory have great influence on deciding the quality of visual design of the environment has been thought over by the related research. Therefore, this study has tried to restate the relationship between humans and the environment and has approached environmental psychology which enforces the adaptation of human within the environment by focusing on the theory of perception. particularly, the effort to study the functions of habitat in the existing surroundings instead of in the laboratory by the method of ecological psychology has proven that environmental perception is only a traditional phenomenon that occurs in the close relationship between the environmental perception as a process of humans receiving information from the surroundings and attempt to define the duty of humans' sensational activities and the functions of perceptions. This research has strived to analyze the activities of sensational environment of human beings and to present and appropriate model of environment for it. 1. Analyze the definition and characteristics of the theory of environmental perception and especially specified the mutual relationship between environment and human beings from the environmental perception's point of view. In this process, contemplate the environmental perception based on ecological psychology which deals about the field in environment. Particularly, realizing the environmental perception theory as the process of which humans try to grasp the true relationship between human beings and their habitats, and this paper is to find out the functions and the roles of environmental perception within the process. 2. After discussing the critical point of the previous perception theories, do research on perceptional behavior of humans towards environment based on functionalism perception theory which is being argued today in environmental perception theory. Also, analyze environment from environmental perception's point of view and get results from valuation elements of environment based on human mentality. 3. Present the possible positive theory which id applicable to environment design through theoretical contemplation of second and third chapter, and proceeded the research of environment design model with the design approach method. For this, the main concept design is applied by the various sequences that resulted from the movements of perceiving people which have been dealt heavily in functionalism perception theory. Primarily, in exhibit space design where consecutive experiences through several circulation system occur frequently, a researcher thinks the concept of space design should be priory considered to be the miscellaneous scenes of space due to the movement of people who perceive. Through these procedures, the possibility that the environmental perception may comprehend the environment and sensational process of humans and its behavior within the environment has been studied. Also, the procedures made it possible to prepare a frame for the analysis of human-environment-behavior at the ecological psychology's point of view with the behavioral background of the environmental sensation. In the theory of environment design, by understanding the positive theory more systematically and establishing the relationship between the environment and human beings firmly, this research has its significance from where it intends to improve the quality of environment where human being actually live in.;오늘날 자연환경의 파괴뿐만 아니라 인간성 말살과 이기심의 표출은 자연과 인간, 환경이라는 우리의 삶과 터전에 대한 관계성을 잘못 인식한데에 있다. 생태계의 파괴 및 지구 환경 오염으로 인해 인류의 종말 가능성을 예견할 수 있는 현대, 지구의 생태학적 위기에서 벗어나기 위해 사회 및 학문의 무든 분야에서 인간의 삶의 가치와 생명의 의미에 대한 반성을 통해 인간과 환경에 기반을 둔 새로운 사상이 모색되어야 한다. 물리적 환경은 우리 개개인에게 어느 면에서든지 매우 큰 영향을 미치고 있다. 물리적 환경이 우리의 행동을 좌우하는 중요한 역할을 하듯이, 우리가 행하는 거의 모든 행동들 역시 환경에 영향을 미친다. 인간뿐만 아니라 모든 생물은 주위의 환경에 적응하며 살아간다. 환경에 적응하지 못하면 도태되므로 생존범위를 확대하기도 하고 경우에 따라서는 적응하기 쉽도록 환경을 재구성하게 된다. 인간은 자연환경을 인위적으로 조정하거나 다시 만들어 환경의 영향을 완화하려는 연구를 계속해 왔다. 인간은 특히, 환경을 대상으로 한 활동의 크기 때문에 환경과 인간의 관계를 논하는 경우, 단순히 환경 영향권 내의 활동과 그에 대한 반응이나 적용 매터니즘을 해설하는 것만으로는 충분하지 않다. 여러 가지 환경조건(환경요소와 시스템)은 계속해서 인간의 심신에 영향을 주며 인체는 여기에 반응하고 적용하는 과정 속에서 환경과 조화를 이루려고 한다. 본 연구의 기조는 환경디자인이론에서 실증적 이론내의 환경심리학의 기본개념을 환경 디자인에 도입해보고 환경심리 이론이 ‘환경’의 물리적 구성과 인간의 상호관계에 접점을 두고 있는 포괄적인 개념을 밝힌다. 인간의 지각, 심리의 궁극적 연구 의의는 디자인과 사회학, 심리학, 통계학, 인류학 등의 결합으로 이루어 질 수 있다. 인간의 지각 및 심리연구에 관한 디자이너와 과학자의 관심은 이 두 영역의 전통적인 시각의 차이에도 불구하고, 합일점의 필요성과 협력체계, 양자의 특성이 종합된 환경심리연구에로의 가능성을 생각하지 않을 수 없게 된다. 본 연구는 이러한 점에 주목하여, 기존의 ‘환경 심리적 디자인 사고’특히, 인간의 작가과정, 현상의 자극과 반응, 개인의 공간행동이론연구가 환경의 시각적 디자인 질을 결정하는데 상당히 유용한 영향을 끼친다는 사실에 그 의미를 부여해 본다. 따라서 본 연구는 환경과 인간의 관계를 재정립해 보고 환경 내에서 인간의 적용을 강화시켜주는 환경심리학을 지각이론을 중심으로 접근해 보았다. 특히 환경의 기능을 실험장이 아닌 실재하는 환경 내에서 연구하고자 노력한 생태심리학적 방법으로 환경지각이 환경과 인간과의 밀접한 관계 속에서만 일어나는 일연의 현상임을 확인한다. 연구라는 환경 지각의 과정을 인간이 주변 환경으로부터 정보를 받아들이는 과정으로 보고 지각의 기능과 인간의 지각활동의 역할을 정의하려 한다. 본 연구는 인간의 환경 지각활동을 분석하고 이에 적합한 환경모델을 제시하고자 한다. 1. 환경지각 이론에 대한 정의와 특징을 분석하고 특히 환경과 인간의 상호관계성을 환경지각 이론적 관점에서 구조화하였다. 이 과정에서 환경지각의 장인 환경에 대하여 생태심리학을 중심으로 환경지각을 고찰해 본다. 특히 환경지각의 장인 환경에 대하여 생태심리학을 중심으로 환경지각을 고찰해 본다. 특히 환경지각 이론을 인간이 환경과의 관계 속에서 인간이 환경에 내재해 있는 의미와 정보를 파악해 가는 과정으로 보고 그 과정에서의 환경지각의 기능과 역할을 파악한다. 2. 기존의 지각이론의 한계점을 논의한 후 현재 환경지각 이론에서 중심으로 논의되고 있는 기능주의적 지각이론을 중심으로 환경에 대한 인간의 지각 형태를 연구한다. 또한 환경지각의 관점에서 환경을 평가하고 인간심리를 바탕으로 한 환경 평가 요소들을 도출해 본다. 3. 환경디자인에 적용 가능한 실증적 이론을 2장과 3장의 이론적 고찰을 통하여 제시하고, 이를 통한 디자인 접근 방법으로 환경디자인 모형사례 연구를 진행하였다. 이를 위해 기능주의적 지각이론에서 주요하게 다루는 지각자의 움직임에 의해 발생하는 다양한 시퀀스를 디자인의 주요 개념으로 적용하였다. 연구자는 특히 다양한 동선체계를 통한 연속적 경험이 많이 발생하는 전시공간디자인에서는 지각자의 움직임에 따른 공간의 장면성이 우선적으로 고려되어야 하는 공간디자인 개념이라고 본다. 이와 같은 과정을 통해 환경지각이 환경과 그 안에서의 인간의 지각과정과 행태를 이해할 수 있다는 가능성을 연구하고, 환경지각의 행태적 배경으로 생태심리학의 관점에서 인간-환경-행태의 분석의 틀을 발견할 수 있었다. 환경 디자인 이론 중 실질적 이론을 바탕으로 환경을 보다 체계적으로 이해하고 환경과 인간의 관계성을 확고히 확립하여 인간이 실제 생활하는 환경의 질을 개선해 보려고 한 것에서 본 연구의 의의를 가진다.
