김진걸 산조춤의 특성에 관한 조사 연구

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to give a systematic suggestion about properties of Kim Jin-keol's Sanjo dance movements among creations of new dance period by Laban's analysis of effort-shape. Thus, Kim Jin-keol's Sanjo Dance and effort-shape analysis theory will be examined and properties of Sanjo dance movements will also be studied through analysis and discussion by choreometrics including main concept of effort-shape. For this, we select six post-graduates, major in dance, who have a capability to comprehend the problems suggested in objective analysis, belong to the conservation device of Kim Jin-keol's Sanjo dance and have studied the dance. The survey method of the dance are divided into the general impression, general description, use of the body, body attitude, use of the space, order of the movement and use of the effort. Among those items, the survey method especially present the body and space related to it and use of the effort in detail. Thus the study analyze the use of the body, use of the space and use of the effort among the 7 items of the survey method of the dance and then draw a conclusion about properties of Sanjo dance movements according to the analyzing. First, body parts generally used in Sanjo dance had been considered to be a shape of trunk, and limbs moving together, and to be arm, leg, shoulder, and head in frequency. These body parts present the distributional map of the movement together with the simultaneous movements and continuous movements. Secondly, in Sanjo dance, the use of the space has been considered to be a diagonal and straight line shape in front of the space. The area of the movement has been started in the center and after the starting, the movement has been most greatly patterned from center to out and has diverse directions and angles of twenty-hedron without spatial limitations. Thirdly, Sanjo dance appeared to have natural and sustained time factors, elastic spatial factors, weight factor maintaining powerful-middle, free & elastic flow factors without tension by using effort. Properties of movements having such combinations, as the type that flow overwhelms spatial shape, are expressive about emotions and feelings. Namely, with the Sanjo dance, it is considered to rather express the inner attitude than emphasize the pattern of the movement. But, the analysis of the study focuses on three items of the survey method of the dance with this analysis theory, it is considered to be a rational analysis apprehending properties of Korea dance movement.;본 연구의 목적은 effort-shape 분석 이론을 기초로 신무용기의 창작품 중 김진걸 산조춤에 적용하여 움직임 특성을 체계적으로 분석하는 데 있다. 이에 김진걸 산조춤과 effort-shape 분석 이론에 대해 살펴보고, Laban의 effort-shape 중심개념을 내포하고 있는 안무측정표(Choreometrics)에 의한 분석과 논의를 통해 산조춤 움직임의 특성을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 객관적인 분석에 제시된 문항들을 이해하는 능력을 갖추고 있고, 김진걸 춤산조 보존회에 소속되어 지속적으로 산조춤을 습득해 온 무용 전공자 6명을 선정하였다. 조사 도구인 안무측정표는 크게 7항목으로 분류되어 있는데, 그 항목은 일반적인 인상, 일반적인 묘사, 신체의 사용, 신체 태도, 공간의 사용, 동작의 순서, 에포트의 사용이다. 안무측정표는 이러한 항목 중에서도 신체와 이와 관련된 공간, 그리고 에포트의 사용에 보다 자세한 세부사항을 제시하고 있다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 안무측정표에서 제시한 7항목 중 신체의 사용, 공간의 사용, 에포트의 사용을 분석하고, 그에 따른 산조춤의 움직임 특성에 대한 결론을 다음과 같이 유추하였다. 첫 번째로, 산조춤에서 전반적으로 사용되는 신체는 가슴과 팔다리가 함께 움직이는 형태로 팔, 다리, 가슴, 어깨, 머리의 순으로 나타났다. 이러한 신체부위들은 동시적인 움직임과 연속적인 움직임이 결합하는 움직임의 분포도를 나타냈다. 두 번재로, 산조춤에 나타난 공간의 사용은 사선과 앞 공간에서의 직선 형태를 띤다. 동작영역은 중심에서 시작되고 시작 후에도 현저하게 중심에서 밖으로 향하는 유형을 따르고 있는데, 공간에 대한 제한이 없어 20면체의 다양한 방향과 각도에서 그 움직임이 이루어졌다. 전체적으로 연속적 특질을 유지하면서 부분적으로 순식간에 행해졌다. 세 번째로, 산조춤에 나타난 에포트의 사용은 자연스럽고 지속적인 시간적 요소, 직선적이면서도 간접적인 공간 요소, 강한-중간을 유지하는 무게 요소, 긴장이 없이 자유로우면서도 탄력정인 흐름의 요소가 나타남을 알 수 있다. 이러한 조합을 가진 움직임의 특질은 흐름이 공간 형태를 압도하는 유형으로 모양에 대한 특별한 형상이 나타나지 않고 감정과 느낌에 표현적이다. 즉 산조춤은 그 움직임을 통해서 움직임의 어떤 형태를 강조하기보다는 내적 태도를 표현했다는 점을 시사한다. 본 연구는 김진걸 산조춤에 대해 안무측정표의 3가지 항목을 중심으로 한 분석이지만, 후속 연구에서 이와 함께 안무측정표에서 제시하는 4가지 항목을 추가적으로 분석한다면, 김진걸 산조춤에 대한 보다 체계적인 이론이 확립될 수 있을 것이다. 또, 이와 같은 움직임 분석 이론은, 한국춤 움직임의 특성을 파악하는데 있어서 실증적인 자료로 제시될 수 있을 것이다.
