dc.description.abstractThe lead content of soil and cabbages samples along highway was determined. For the sampling, seven areas were selected along Kyung-In and Kyung-Bu highway, that is the call gate of Kyung-In, Bu-Pyung, In-Chun, the call gate of Kyung-Bu, Su-Won, Chun-An, and Dae-Jun. The samples were also collected at the point of 50, 100, and 150m from the highway. Lead concentrations were determined colorimetrically using dithizone from June 1, 1972 to July 30, 1972. The results obtained are as follows; (Table Ⅲ, Ⅳ) The average concentration of lead in soil were 16.10, 13.83, and 10.73ug per gram at 50, 100, and 150m from the highway. In the cabbages lead contens were 2.74, 2.15, and 1.65ug per gram at 50, 100, and 150m from the highway. It is considered that lead exhausted from automobiles on highwat may affects to the levels of lead content in the soils and cabbages along the highway, and the levels of lead content in soils and cabbages are decreasing with the distance from the highway.-
