딸과 어머니 두 세대간의 자녀양육태도에 관한 일연구

Abstract

본 연구는 개인에게 많은 영향을 미치는 가정적 요인들 가운데서 어머니와 딸의 관계를 자녀양육태도를 중심으로 해서 고찰하고자 시도하였다. 즉, 어렸을 때부터 딸은 어머니와의 긴밀한 인간관계를 통해서 어머니의 역할에 동일화를 하게 되므로 자녀양육태도에 있어서 어머니와 딸은 어떤 상관관계를 나타낼 것으로 보았다. 또한 이런 양육태도의 상관성에 딸의 형제순위, 딸의 성장시 어머니와의 별거여부가 어떤 영향을 미치는지에 대해서 규명해 보고자 하였다. 이에 따라 다루었던 연구문제는 다음으 l3가지이다. 1) 딸과 어머니, 두세대간의 양육태도에는 상관관계가 있을 것이다. 2) 딸 성장시, 어머니와의 별거여부는 이 두세대의 자녀양육태도에 영향을 미칠것이다. 3) 딸의 형제순위에 따라 어머니와 딸의 양육태도에 차이가 있을 것이라는 가정 하에 어머니 태도 조사(Maternal Attitude Scale, MAS)를 질문지법을 사용하여 95쌍의 딸-어머니에게서 그들의 반응을 수집하였다. 측정된 어머니의 양육태도는 어머니의 불안, 어머니 역할의 괴로움, 자녀의 욕구에 대한 실제적 통제, 수유법, 자녀에 대한 기대와 허용, 자녀양육에 대한 관습적인 태도, 유아기 자녀의 성에 대한 민감성, 어머니의 임무에 대한 만족감 등의 8요인 이였다. 자료의 분석은 두세대간의 상관성을 알기 위해서 상관계수를 내었으며 두세대의 차이점을 알기 위해서는 평균점을 내어 유의성 검정을 하였다. 그 결과, 본 연구에서는, 1) 어머니와 딸의 양육태도는 8개요인중, 어머니 역할의 괴로움 요인을 제외한 어머니의 불안, 자녀의 요구에 대한 실제적 통제, 수유법, 자녀에 대한 기대와 허용, 자녀양육에 대한 관습적인 태도, 유아기 자녀의 성에 대한 민감성, 어머니 임무에 대한 만족감 등의 7요인에서 유의적인 (P＜.01, P＜.05) 상관관계를 나타냈다. 또 두세대간의 양육태도의 차이점을 알아본 결과, 어머니 역할의 괴로움, 수유법, 자녀에 대한 기대와 허용, 유아기 자녀의 성에 대한 민감성 요인들에서 어머니와 딸, 두세대는 유사한 양육태도를 취했다. 2) 딸 성장시, 어머니와의 별거여부는 딸과 어머니 두세대의 양육태도의 관계에 어떤 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 3) 딸의 형제순위에 의한 딸과 어머니의 양육태도의 상관관계에서는 유아기 자녀의 성에 대한 민감성요인만이 유의적으로 나타났다. 본 연구는, 특히 모친성이 매우 강하고 희생적이고 헌신애에 다름없는 모성애가 강조되는 우리 사회에서 딸과 어머니의 양육태도의 관계를 고찰해 봄으로써 어머니의 역할, 기능, 책임 등을 심각하게 다룰 필요성을 강조하는데 큰 의의가 있다고 하겠다.;This study is to know the relationships between two generations, mother and daughter, on the basis of childcare attitudes. Daughter has a tendency to identify with her mother's role through a close human relationships since she was born. So it, would be expected that there must be a kind of correlations between two generations in the childcare attitudes. The problems in detail are as follows. 1. There will be correlation between two generations, mother and daughter, in childcare attitudes. 2. The possibility in seperation with mother through daughter's childhood will have influence on childcare attitude of these two generations. 3. According to the daughter's birth order, there will be differentiation from childcare attitudes between mother and daughter. Maternal Attitude Scale was administered to 95 mothers and daughters. The subjects in this study were measured by 8 factors: maternal anxiety, motherhood as suffering, material control of impulses, feeding comfort, support and acceptance of child, conventional naivets towards childrearing, sensitivity to infantile sex, well-differentiated maternal satisfaction. Results found through the study are as follows. 1, The childcare attitudes of mother and daughter show the significant correlations from 7 factors out of 8. 2. There are no evidence that, the seperation with mother and daughter in childhood. affected the childcare attitudes batween two generations. This study did not include the length and the period of seperation. 3. In the childcare attitudes between two generations according to the daughter's birth order, maternal anxiety was only significant in first born.
