풍경의 서정성 추구

Abstract

인간의 예술 활동이 주어진 자연 환경 속에서 영향을 받는 것은 당연한 일이고, 자연의 형태는 인간의 조형 활동에 많이 응용되고 있다. 따라서 자연은 조형예술의 모티브가 되어 왔으며, 자연 형상은 시대와 개인에 따라 각기 다르게 표현 되어왔다. 회화에서 중요한 것은 감정의 표현이며 그런 분위기를 살리는 것이 중요하다. 회화로 표현할 수 있는 감정 표현과 전달에 있어서 본인은 서정성을 나타내려고 하며, 특히 풍경에서 느끼는 서정성을 표현하고 전달하려 한다. 순수한 감정, 정서를 불러일으키는 서정성을 통하여 감동을 느낄 수 있고 결국에는 회화의 목적인 감정을 전달할 수 있기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 동, 서양의 산수화와 풍경화 각각의 발달 과정을 알아보았다. 또한 회화에서 서정성이 무엇인지 정의 내려진 바는 없지만, 서정적이라고 느낄 수 있는 산수화와 풍경화를 예로 들어 서정성이 어떻게 표현 되었는지 알아보았다. 방법적인 연구로는 색채, 구도, 재료, 형태 등의 조형적 요소를 이용하여 서정성을 살릴 수 있는 화면의 효과를 시도하였다. 구도는 서양화의 구도를 따랐으나 지, 필, 묵 등의 동양의 재료를 이용하였고, 수묵 산수를 하였던 기초를 바탕으로 산수와 풍경이 어우러지게 시도하였다. 이러한 연구를 통하여 본인 내면의 축적된 감정과 경험들의 소중함을 깨닫게 되었고, 서정적인 시각으로 자연을 이해하고 표현해야 함을 느꼈다. 본 논문을 통하여 본인의 작품을 분석하고 작업의 성과와 아울러 반성의 기회를 마련함으로써 앞으로의 작업 방향을 모색하고자 하였다.;It is undeniable that the given environment an artist lives in influence and shape the art work created. Hence, nature surrounding the artist has been timeless subject of visual art. The image of nature portrayed in the visual art varied as the individual artist's understanding of nature differed. Painting is product of the outpouring of exuberant emotion of an artist. Through the emotions which arouse from being in the midst of nature, I intended to create lyric paintings which the viewers could also empathize with the feelings of the artist. In this study, I researched the development of landscape paintings in different cultures. Moreover, though there are no obvious definitions of lyricism in art, I tried to define the concept of lyricism through examining the landscape paintings, and looking into how nature is portrayed through those paintings. Through my own drawings, I used formative elements such as color, natural lines, materials, and composition, in order to portray lyricism in my paintings. While I followed the composition of the West, the painting materials such as the paper, brush, ink used are the traditional Oriental Painting materials. From my experience in more traditional Oriental Painting, I adapted focusing on trees and hills of a landscape. From the research, and personal art work, I gained better understanding of the sensuality of expression, importance of my personal experience, and need to capture nature with lyric drawings. Furthermore, through this study, I learn to self-evaluate my own work, and give constructive criticism to better my work in the future.
