드라마 Set 구조를 통한 욕망의 간접화 표현연구

Abstract

오늘날 테크놀러지의 발달은 이미지의 생산방식과 소비방식을 바꿈으로 현대인의 인식체계를 가변적으로 변화시켜왔다. 현대사회에서 미디어는 사회적 존재로서 현대인이 삶을 영위해 나가는 데 필수 불가결한 요소인 그들 자신의 정치적, 사회적 환경에 대한 주된 정보원이 되고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 생활의 중요한 일부분이 되고 있고, 더욱이 현대인들은 미디어가 제시하는 고정 관념화된 균질적인 메시지에 비 선택적으로 노출되고 있기 때문에 미디어는 현실세계에 대한 수용자의 사회현실 구성에 큰 영향력을 행사하고 있다. 콘하우저(William Alan Kornhauser)는 이에 대해 "대중사회에 있어서는 미디어가 중간적 결여를 대신하여 대중에게 큰 영향력을 갖게 된다. 이미 소외감을 갖고 있는 개인은 산만한 불안감에 사로잡혀서 통합적인 대상형태를 취하게 된다. 따라서 자기에게 가장 알맞은 무엇을 추구하는 대신에 매스미디어의 조정이나 대중조정자가 제시 또는 마련하는 것을 받아들이려고 한다."라고 분석하고 있다. 현대사회에서 미디어의 영향은 실로 거대하다. 특히 일상생활을 배경으로 하는 TV 드라마는 어떤 프로그램보다도 방영시간이 길고, 시청자 계층 폭이 넓어 그 사회적, 심리적 영향이 다른 어떤 프로그램보다 높아 어떤 문화 매체보다 강력한 힘을 가진 매체이자 우리의 일상과 밀접한 연관을 갖고 있다. 일반적으로 TV드라마는 실제현실을 왜곡하거나 혹은 선택적으로 제시된 메시지 구조를 지니며, 시청자들은 TV에 노출되면 될수록 TV가 보여주는 세계의 관점에서 현실세계를 보고 이해하려는 경향이 생긴다. 즉 시청자들은 사회현실에 대한 TV의 시각을 무의식적으로 따르게 된다. 현대인들의 TV드라마에 대한 열광은 실제의 열정이 아니라 환타지적 열정이다. 개인의 정체성을 다른 것으로 바꿔놓을 수 있는 자리에서 실현되는 현대인의 간접화된 욕망인 것이다. 현대사회에서 자신의 욕망과 자신의 삶에 대한 가치기준이 완전히 자발적인 것이라고 말하는 사람들이 과연 얼마나 되고 또 현대인들이 어떻게 자신의 욕망을 구체화시키는지에 대하여 르네 지라르(Rene' Girard)가 분석한 욕망의 삼각형 구도에서 욕망마저 간접화되고 대상화된 현대사회의 일면을 그대로 반영된 것을 볼 수 있다. 주체는 중개자를 모방하면서 대상과 소통하고 있다는 '환상'을 갖게 된다. 이 환상이 심화되면 중개자와 대상의 구별자체가 모호해지며 이른바 '낭만적 거짓'이 주체를 지배하고 만다는 것이다. 연구자는 현대인들의 욕망의 대상을 매체로서의 TV 드라마에서 간접화하여 욕망을 찾으려한다고 보고 표현방법으로 현대인의 욕망의 간접화 대상인 TV 드라마영상과 간접화된 욕망의 대상이라고 생각되었던 TV 드라마 속의 set 구조를 제작하고 제시한다. 관람자로 하여금 실재의 set 구조의 제시 속의 반전을 가짐으로써 욕망마저 간접화되고 사물화 되어버린 대상과 대상의 현실을 직시하여 본인 스스로 진정한 욕망과 그 가치에 대해 반추해보고 나아가 삶의 가치 기준의 진정성이 무엇인지 인식할 수 있도록 하는 계기를 마련하는 것에 연구의 목적이 있다.;Today the technological advance has changed cognitive systems of the modern in changeable ways by diversifying production and consumption method of images. The media have been one of the information sources about political and social condition which is absolutely necessary for the modern to lead life as social being. Also it has been a important part of living. Besides, since the modern have been involuntarily exposed to fixed ideated homogeneous message which the media present, media get great influence on organization of social reality now. As William Alan Kornhauser analyzed the situation out in his book "The Politics of Mass Society", the media exercise huge influence on modern society. Especially TV drama has close connection with our everyday life and strong influence on the modern much more than other culture medium because it has long broadcast time and various viewer classes, consequently, it has high social and mental effect on the modern. In general, TV drama shows distorted reality or optionally presented messages. It effects that the viewer understands real world from the partial point of view which restrictively provided by TV dramas. In other words, the viewer obeys the viewpoint of the drama involuntarily. The enthusiasm for TV drama is fanciful passion and not real passion. It is indirect desire which is realized on the place where can change personal identity. Rene' Girard analyzed indirection and objectification of desire, one side of the modern society and reflected it in the "Triangle of the Desire". It describes how many people say that personal desire and value standard is completely spontaneous in the modern society, and how the modern embody their own desire. A subject has fantasies about communication with an object on imitating an intermediary. If the fantasy gets deeper, the distinction between the object and the intermediary will be ambiguous. As a result, so-called 'romantic lie' will control the subject. I regard the modern are seeking their desire by objectifying the target in TV drama as a medium, so I presents TV drama clip and TV drama set structure which are objectified desire objects as an expression system. My research goal is, to let a spectator have a reversal on the presentatoin of an actual TV drama set structure, and face both of distorted objectified world and real world, and then ruminate own real desire and it's worth, ultimately, to give an opportunity to recognize authenticity of value standard.
