어머니의 감독과 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합, 자아개념 및 외현화 문제행동

Abstract

The main purpose of this study was to examine the influence of maternal parenting behavior, adolescents' deviant peer affiliation and self concept on adolescent's externalizing problem behaviors. The subjects were 405 high school students living in Gyeong gi-do. The data were collected using four kind of questionnaires regarding maternal monitoring, adolescents' deviant peer affiliation and self concept, and adolescent's externalizing problem behaviors. Maternal monitoring, adolescents' deviant peer affiliation and self concept, and adolescent's externalizing problem behavior were rated by adolescent's themseleves. The Data were analysed by SEM(structural equation modeling). The major results of this study were summarized as follows: First, maternal monitoring influenced indirectlyon adolescent's externalizing problem behaviors through adolescents' deviant peer affiliation and self concept. when maternal monitoring was higher adolescents' deviant peer affiliation was low. Then their self concept was higher, and then their externalizing problem behaviors were low. Second, maternal monitoring influenced indirectly on adolescent's externalizing problem behaviors through adolescents' deviant peer affiliation. When maternal monitoring was higher, adolescents' deviant peer affiliation was low. and then their externalizing problem behaviors was low. Finally, maternal monitoring influenced indirectly on adolescent's externalizing problem behaviors through their self concept. When maternal monitoring was higher, adolescent's self concept was high. and then their externalizing problem behavior was low. This study clearly showed the relationship between adolescent's externalizing problem behavior, maternal monitoring, adolescents' deviant peer affiliation, and self concept by exploring the path how maternal monitoring, adolescents' deviant peer affiliation, and self concept affected adolescent's externalizing problem behavior.;본 연구의 주 목적은 어머니의 감독과 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합 및 자아개념이 청소년의 외현화 문제행동에 영향을 미치는 경로를 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해, 경기도 K시의 한 고등학교 1학년생인 405명의 청소년들을 대상으로 질문지법을 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 어머니의 감독은 Stattin 과 Kerr(2000b)의 부모의 감독(parental monitoring) 척도를 번안한 박진경(2001)의 척도를 이용하였고, 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합은 de Anda(2001)의 ADP(Association with Deviant Peers)를 번안하여 측정하였다. 청소년의 자아개념은 Fitt(1965)가 제작한 Tense Self-Scale을 재구성한 최정곤(1997)의 척도를 사용하였으며, 청소년의 외현화 문제행동은 Achenbach(1993)가 아동/청소년 행동 및 정서 문제를 측정하기 위해 개발한 척도를 박진경(2001)이 번안한 청소년의 문제 행동 척도 중 외현화 행동 관련요인들을 사용하였다. 수집된 자료에 대해서는 각 변인들의 기술적 통계치를 산출하였으며, 구조방정식 모형(Structural Equation Modeling, SEM)을 통해 각 변인들간의 관계에 대한 이론적 모형을 검증하였다. 본 연구의 연구문제에 따른 주요 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 어머니의 감독은 청소년의 외현화 문제행동에 직접적으로 영향을 미치지 않았다. 둘째, 청소년의 일탈 또래와의 연합은 청소년의 외현화 문제행동에 직접적인 영향을 미쳐 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합이 높을수록 외현화 문제행동은 증가하였다. 셋째, 청소년의 자아개념은 청소년의 외현화 문제행동에 직접적인 영향을 미쳐 청소년의 자아개념이 긍정적일 때 외현화 문제행동은 덜 보고되었다. 넷째, 어머니의 감독은 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합과 자아개념을 통해 외현화 문제행동에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 어머니의 감독이 높을수록 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합은 낮았으며, 이는 청소년의 자아개념에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤고, 나아가 청소년의 외현화 문제행동 역시 덜 나타났다. 다섯째, 어머니의 감독은 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합을 통해 외현화 문제행동에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 어머니의 감독이 높을수록 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합은 적었으며, 나아가 외현화 문제행동 역시 낮은 것으로 보고되었다. 여섯째, 어머니의 감독은 청소년의 자아개념을 통해 외현화 문제행동에 간접적인 영향을 미쳤다. 즉, 어머니의 감독이 높을수록 청소년의 자아개념은 긍정적이었으며 외현화 문제행동을 덜 보였다. 본 연구는 어머니의 감독 및 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합 및 자아개념이 청소년의 외현화 문제행동에 영향을 미치는 경로를 살펴봄으로써 청소년의 외현화 문제행동을 증가시키거나 감소시키는 요인들을 확인하였다. 또한 어머니의 감독이 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합과 자아개념을 통해 외현화 문제행동에 미치는 간접적인 영향력을 살펴봄으로써, 청소년의 일탈또래와의 연합을 예방하고 긍정적인 자아개념을 발달시키는 것이 외현화 문제행동을 예측하는 데 중요한 요인임을 밝혔다는 점에서 학문적·실용적 의의가 있다.
