dc.description.abstractNelumbo nucifera Gaertn, belonging to the family Nymphaeaceae, commonly known as lotus, is a perennial aquatic plant distributed over the world, especially in India, China, Japan, Korea, Russia, and some African countries. The seeds of N. nucifera have been used as traditional medicine for treatment of nervous disorders, insomnia, high fevers, hematemesis, hematuria, hypertension, and stopping of bleeding. There have been many biological reports on the Nelumbinis Semen, however, its biological principles have not been studies intensively. Therefore, the dried Nelumbinis Semen were subjected to detailed laboratory phytochemical investigation. Four compounds 45-48 were isolated from the EtOAc extracts (300 g) and identified as 4-hydroxybenzoic acid methyl ester, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid ethyl ester, 4-hydroxybenzoic acid propyl ester, and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid butyl ester, respectively, by comparison of their spectral data with the published values. In addition, the paraben derivatives 45-48 were isolated from the seeds of N. nucifera for the first time. Moreover, four compounds were found in the genus Nelumbo and family Nymphaeaceae for the first time.;일반적으로 lotus라 알려진 Nelumbo nucifera Gaertn. (수련과: Nymphaeaceae)은 다년생 수상식물이고, 전세계에 걸쳐 분포하고 있으며, 특히 인도, 중국, 일본, 한국, 동남아시아, 러시아 그리고 아프리카 지역에 분포하고 있다. 연자육은 한방에서 주로 신경계장애, 불면증, 고열, 토혈, 혈뇨, 지혈, 고혈압을 치료하는데 사용되고 있다. Nelumbo 속은 Nymphaeaceae에서 큰 속 중의 하나로 동속 식물의 많은 연구가 보고되어왔다. 본 연구실에서도 항 우울활성 천연물 신약 개발관련 하여 연자육의 성분 중, 항 우울활성 작용이 있는지에 대한 서울시정과제 수행을 위해, 본 실험을 수행하였다. 건조된 연자육을 MeOH로 추출하고, 추출물 3 kg을 수득 후, MeOH 추출물을 각각 n-Hexane, EtOAc, n-BuOH 로 분획한 뒤, EtOAc 분획물을 가지고 column chromatography를 실시하였다. 네 가지의 Paraben 유도체 4-hydroxybenzoic acid methyl ester (45), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid ethyl ester (46), 4-hydroxybenzoic acid propyl ester (47), and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid butyl ester (48)가 각각 분리되었다. 새로운 화합물의 구조는 각 종 이화학적 및 분광학적 기법을 사용하여 분석하고, 기존의 문헌과 각각 비교하여 구조 동정하게 되었다. 분리된 4가지 물질은 연자육에서 처음으로 분리되었으며 ‘속’ Nelumbo 과 ‘과’ Nymphaeaceae에서도 처음 보고되는 바이다.-
