진주검무의 춤사위 분석을 통한 미적특성에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 진주검무 춤사위 분석을 통한 미적특성에 관한 연구이며 이를 통해 진주검무 춤사위분석에서 나타난 미적특성을 정재적인 요소와 민속적인 요소에서 찾아내어 규명하고, 이를 바탕으로 한국 춤을 재창조 하는 데에 이론적 바탕을 마련하는데 목적이 있다. 「진주검무」는 현재 민속춤 중에서도 교방춤으로 분류되고 있고 궁중무용 계통의 대표적인 춤으로 최순이(1892년생)에 의해 1967년 중요무형문화재 제12호로 지정받아 지금까지 진주지역의 대표적인 춤 예술로 전승되고 있다. 「진주검무」는 궁중에서 연희하던 검무의 원형을 완전 보존하고 있어 우리나라 칼춤형태에 관한 중요한 자료가 되며 진주검무가 궁중검무에서 나온 만큼 정재요소가 강해 정재무의 기본형식을 갖추고 전승한다는 점에서 다른 민속무와 구분되는 특징이 있다. 오랜 역사와 전통으로 예술적인 가치가 풍부하고 무용사적인면에서도 근거가 명확하다는 점에 있어서 현재 다양한 각도에서 진주검무에 대한 활발한 연구가 이루어지고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 진주검무 춤사위에 함의된 예술적 아름다움의 본질을 한국 춤의 미적특성의 관점에서 해석하고 진주검무의 내재되어 있는 두 가지 요소를 중심으로 진주검무의 미적특성을 규명하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 본 연구는 진주검무의 비디오 자료와 고증된 문헌을 중심으로 정리. 종합 하여 분석하는 방법을 적용하였다. 진주검무를 이해하기 위해 먼저 진주검무의 생성배경과 변천과정에 대해 정리하고 한국무용의 미의식과 궁중무용의 미적특성, 민속무용의 미적특성의 개념을 이해하였다. 그 다음으로 진주검무의 구성을 파악하고 춤사위를 세분화 하여 분석한 다음 춤사위에서 나타난 미적특성을 정재적인 요소와 민속적인 요소에서 추출하여 연구 하였다. 그 결과 진주검무 춤사위에는 궁중무의 미적요소인 음양오행과 정. 중. 동 의 미와 민속무의 미적요소인 흥. 신명, 역동성의 미가 진주검무 춤사위마다 두루 갖추고 있다는 사실을 도출할 수 있었다. 이 연구는 진주검무 춤사위 분석을 통해 궁중무와 민속무에서의 미적특성을 학문적으로 정리, 분석하여 그 가치를 고찰함으로써 또한, 진주검무가 가지고 있는 미적가치를 정립하고 우리나라 전통무용으로써 어떤 특성이 있는지 규명하는데 필요한 기초적 자료를 제공함으로써 한국전통문화를 보존하고 발전, 계승 시키는 데에 의의가 있다.;This study is about the aesthetic characteristics of the Jinju Sword Danceby analyzing its movements. Through this study, the aesthetic characteristics expressed in the movements will be verified based on the ritual and folkish factors. Furthermore, the objective of this study is to establish theoretical foundation for the recreation of the Korean dance. ‘Jinju Sword Dance’is classified as entertainment dance among the folk dance and is one of the representative royal dance. It was designated as Intangible Cultural Asset number 12 by Soon-Ee Choi (born in 1892) in 1967 and isinherited as dance art until today in the Jinju area. ‘Jinju Sword Dance’ has completely preserved the original form of the sword dance done in the palace and provides important historical information. As Jinju Sword Dance comes from the royal dance, it has strong ritual characteristics and form, which differentiates from other folk dance. Many studies are being conducted in different perspective as it has rich artistic values due to its long history and tradition along with clearly defined dance history The goal of this study is to interpret the artistic beauty explained in the movements of the Jinju Sword Dance in terms of the aesthetic characteristics of the Korean dance and verify the aesthetic characteristics based on the two factors implied in the Jinju Sword Dance. To attain this goal, this study has summarized, integrated and analyzed the videotaped data and historical documents related to the Jinju Sword Dance. In order to understand the Jinju Sword Dance, this study will start off with the creation and transition processed will move on to the aesthetic sense, aesthetic characteristics of the royal dance and concept of the aesthetic characteristics of the folk dance. Then the composition of the Jinju Sword Dance will be discussed and the aesthetic characteristics derived from the analysis of the subdivided movements will be extracted and studies based on ritual and folkish factors. As a result, the Five Elements and Moving in Silence, which are the aesthetic characteristics of the royal dance and fun, spirit, dynanism, which are the aesthetic characteristics of the folk dance were evenly found in the movements of the Jinju Sword Dance. This study is expected to establish the theoretical foundation in recreating the Korean dance and verify the Korean aesthetic characteristics of the Jinju Sword Dance. In addition, by preserving and inheriting the traditional dance, it will provide us the pride and confidence in our own culture which will be incorporated into the popular culture.
