어린이 놀이기구의 실태에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 놀이기구의 중요성을 재인식하고, 놀이기구를 디자인함에 있어서 놀이기구의 기능적 효용 뿐 만 아니라 심리적으로 미치는 영향과 아동을 둘러싸고 있는 놀이기구의 현황을 파악함으로써 놀이기구를 통하여 바람직한 인격형성에 도움을 줄 수 있는 새로운 놀이기구를 디자인하고 연구할 수 있는 계기를 마련하는데 있다. 이 목적에 접근하기 위하여 놀이와 놀이기구의 이론적 배경과 아동의 일반적 발달과정과 신체적, 심리적, 행태적 특질을 문헌을 통하여 고찰하였다. 또한 아동이 가정에서 갖고 노는 놀이기구의 현황을 파악하기 위하여 설문지를 통한 간접조사를 실시하였다. 조사대상은 서울시내에 거주하는 중류층의 만 5, 6세 아동으로 하였으며, 그 내용은 놀이기구의 종류, 색채, 재료, 크기, 선택 및 놀이시간 등이다. 조사된 결과는 신체적, 지적, 정서적, 사회적 발달을 돕는 놀이기구로 분류하고 집계하였으며, 그 결과를 통하여 알아보려던 문제들은 다음과 같다. ① 아동이 가정에서 갖고 노는 놀이기구의 분포현황 ② 아동의 심리적, 신체적, 형태적 특질에서 본 놀이기구의 실태 ③ 놀이기구의 색채 ④ 놀이기구의 크기 ⑤ 놀이기구의 재료 ⑥ 놀이기구의 형태 ⑦ 놀이기구의 질 이러한 문제의 연구 분석을 통해서 다음과 같은 결론에 도달하였다. ① 놀이기구가 대체로 다양하지만, 활동적인 놀이기구와 사회적 발달을 돕는 놀이기구가 부족하므로 이 놀이기구들의 디자인이 개발되어야 하겠다. ② 우리나라 놀이기구들은 우리나라 아동의 신체적, 심리적, 형태적 특질에 적합하게 디자인되어야 하겠다. ③ 놀이기구의 색채는 대체로 우리나라 아동의 색채기호에 따르고 있지만, 색체의 명암, 채도 및 유해색소와 도색의 기술 등의 문제가 개선되어야 하겠다. ④ 재료는 플라스틱에 집중되고 있지만, 아동이 많은 경험을 할 수 있도록 여러 가지 재료가 고르게 사용되어지는 것이 바람직하겠다. ⑤ 크기는 아동의 평균체위에 의해서 합리적으로 디자인되고 다양한 크기의 놀이기구가 개발되어야 하겠다. ⑥ 아동의 올바른 형태의 인식력을 돕기 위해서 형태가 정확하게 만들어져야 하겠다. ⑦ 놀이기구의 질이 개선되어 견고하게 만들어져서 쉽게 고장이 나거나 파손이 되어 어린이에게 큰 실망을 안겨다 주는 일이 없어야 하겠다. 이상의 문제들은 아동을 완전한 한 인격체로서 성장시키기 위하여 개선되어지고 개발되어야 하겠으며, 이 분야가 광범위하므로 디자이너, 아동심리 연구가 및 제작자 등의 공동연구로 해결되어야 하겠다.;The purpose of this study is to make an opportunity for the further and profound study on children's plaything and also to improve the same field by having a new understanding of importance on children's playthings in their preshool age, and rousing our interest on children's playthings. In order to attain such purpose, this study was made on the theoretical background of children's playing and playthings, children's course of general growth, physical, psychological and formal characteristic, through various documents concerned. Moreover, the survey of actual condition for children's playthings was conducted by questionnaire method, mainly applied to the full 5 or 6 years old children residing in Seoul, on classification, colors, material, size, choice of playthings and their playing hours. The surveyed results were classified into physical, intellectual, emotional and social plaything. Based on such results, the following problems are brought up. 1. How many and what kind of playthings children have. 2. The current situation of playthings in the viewpoint of psychological, physical and behavioral distinction. 3. Color of playthings. 4. Material of Playthings. 5. Size of Playthings. 6. Form of Playthings. 7. Quality of Playthings. Based on such analysis, this study was resulted in the following conclusion. 1. Playthings are diversified, but, with lack of active and social playthings, it is requested that playthings' design be developed. 2. The home-product playthings have to be designed for physical, psychological and behavioral distinction of our country's children. 3. Most of the color of playthings meet children's color taste, however still have to develope value and chroma of color, technic of painting and harmful color. 4. Most of materials are plastic, but it is desired that many kinds of materials are used, because children need various experiences. 5. Size of playthings should be designed resonably by the average of children's physical standard, and developed different kinds of size. 6. Shape of playthings has to be made accurately, because correct shape playthings help the shape cognition of children. 7. Quality of playthings must improve, because children are disappointed that playthings are apt to be destroyed and out of order. It is well conclude that the above problems must be developed and improved for growing up children as man of character, and this field is so wide that designer, child psychologist and plaything maker should study together to settle such problems.
