日常事物의 視覺的 表現

Abstract

예술의 미학적 가치로 만인을 위한 공리성을 들 수 있다. 이것은 '예술을 위한 예술' 그 자체가 아니라 예술활동의 주체자인 인간에게 초점을 맞춘것이라 하겠다. 공예창조 역시 인간생활에 필요불가결한것이 계기가 되어 시작된 것으로, 비교적 우리의 실생활과 밀접한 관계를 맺고있는 염색도 이와 같은 이유에서 비롯된 것이다. 실용성과 심미성을 함께 추구하여온 염색공예는 현대에 와서는 과학기술의 발달로 재료나 표현방법등이 다양해져서 타분야와의 접근가능성등 연구범위와 방향이 확대되어가고 있으며, 그 순수한 조형성만을 추구하고자 할 경우에는 독자적인 예술쟝르로서 가치가 인정된다. 오늘날과 같이 다원화된 국제사회에서는 우리나라도 선진외국과의 관계에 있어서 대립, 경쟁적인 관계가 필연적이라 한다. 특히 기술개발이나 디자인을 무기화해야하는 시점에서는 디자인센스가 매우 주요한 역할을 한다. '디자인은 곧 경제'라는 명제아래 우리나라의 염색공예의 발전을 위해서도 디자인센스나 예술적 안목을 기르는 것이 선행과제가 되어져야함은 물론이다. 본 연구는 '일상사물의 시각적 표현'을 주제로, 대상에 새로운 시각을 부여해서 주관적인 표현세계를 넓히려는데 목적을 두고 있으며 이와같은 목적을 위하여 이론적 배경을 들어 작품의 근거로 삼았다. 여기에는 세가지 측면을 고찰하였는데 첫째, 미술사조에서 '소비사회의 생활을 동화한 예술'로 지칭되는 Pop Art에서의 표현관점과 작가들의 의도를 살펴보았다. 둘째, 표현의 사고과정으로 시각은 지각행위이며, 이것을 기본으로한 지각장고 상대적개념의 표현을 알아보았다. 셋째, 사물의 관찰에서는 대상을 보는 관점으로 보는것, 보이는 것, 사물의 상태성등을 서술하고 불변의 요소를 추출하는 과정으로 구조적분석과 전체성개념을 문헌을 통해 연구하였다. Ⅲ장에서는 작품을 위주로 화면의 구도설정에 중요한 시점의 변형 문제와 이론적 배경에 따른 일상사물의 시각적 표현을 논의하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 작품제작과 분석으로 표현매체와 기법, 제작과정을 서술하고 문제점을 살펴 보았다. 실제작품은 15점으로 하였으며 표현의도 및 분석을 간략히 서술하였다. 이상에서 얻어진 결론은 다음고 같았다. 첫째, 일상사물이란 작가의 내적 필연성을 투사시킬 수 있는 좋은 소재이며, 둘째, 표현에 있어 시지각이론을 도입하면 유효적절한 방법론의 근거로 삼을 수 있고 셋째, 대상물을 바라볼때 그것의 상태성을 알고 표현하면 나와 세계간에 구조적으로 상호교류할 수 있음을 깨달았다. 넷째, BATIK 기법은 수공이 많이들고 시간적 제약이 따르지만 재료와 표현기법의 연구를 충분히 하면 독자적인 표현세계를 확립시킬 수도 있는 것이다. 또한 일상사물의 시각적 표현이란 주변환경을 대상으로 하는 것이기 때문에 친근하며 소구력이 있다고 여겨져서, 이것을 응용하여 산업에 연결시킬 수 있는 가능성을 시사하였다.;One asethetic value of Arts is its utility for everybody. i.e. its emphasis is not on la´rt pour la´rt but on human beings who are the initiator of all sorts of art activities. The origin of crafts derived from 'the need for everyday life'. and thus dyeing crafts has close relationship with our daily lives. The territory of dyeing crafts whose main concern is to pursue the utility and beautiness of the object has been expanded extensiyely due to relative development of science (e.g. scientific equipment. modernized materials and methods. etc). Therefore, as long as we pursue the aesthetic aspects of the modern dye arts, dying crafts can become a unique independent part of arts. Today, it is necessary for us to be competitive to survive in this changing world. Thus, the development of technology and design are essential, and especially "design sense" is vital. Under the definition of "good design is good business", I think more intensive study of design sense and efforts to improve art sensitivity have to be done first to develop Korean dye crafts. The purpose of this thesis is to select very popular everyday life theme that can be found easily in our daily lives and to add new way of visualizing them, and to lead to more refined way of expressing them. All of my works are based on theoretical analysis, and I especially tried to focus on the following three points: First of all, I tried to evaluate the views of Pop Art which claims the art of everyday consumption pattern and I also paid very careful attention to the works of Pop Artists. And secondly, I studied the visual perception as a part of thinking process in expressing the object, and under this conception I explored perception field and the expressions of relative concepts. And finally, I presented an object that we can see and the thing that is seen and the conditions of the object as a way of watching the object. And I applied constructivistic analysis and the concept of wholeness as a process of getting unchangeable elements. In part Ⅲ, Ⅰ discussed tense changes of composition of a picture based on my own works and the visual expressions of ordinary objects according to theoretical basis. In part Ⅳ, Ⅰ introduced and analyzed working process of my own works, methodology, and the mediums of expressions, and so on Ⅰ also presented several problems in the whole process. There are fifteen works that were introduced and analyzed. I finally came to the following conclusion: First of all, an ordinary object is a very nice material which makes it possible for an artist to reflect his or her own internal necessity. Secondly, if you apply visual perception theory in expressing the object, it can be a useful basis for your methodology. Thirdly, I found that if you know the conditions of your objects and express them by adding their tenses, constructive mutual exchange between oneself and the world that one wants to express is not impossible. And finally, though Batik requires lots of careful hand crafts and time, if we invert enough time and efforts todeyelop new methodology and materials, and thus improve the quality of work itself, it will remain as one unique way of expressing one's own world and a wonderful part of Arts.
