現象的 空間表現 硏究

Abstract

인간의 心性에 직접적 통로를 가진 色, 形態로서 表象하는 추상미술은 20세기 벽두의 Modernism에 뿌리를 두고 크게 표현적, 서정적 추상과 이지적, 기하적 추상의 두줄기로 흐르고 있다. 표현적, 서정적 추상은 화면에서 개성의 해방을 추구하고, 지성의 통제를 받지 않는 자율성을 내세우는 추상표현주의에 이르러 절정에 달한다. 그런데 1950년대의 추상표현주의가 활기차고 대담한 것에 비하여 1970년대의 서정추상은 그 활력도 감동도 줄어든다. 이들의 특징은 色形, 화면의 깊이가 최소한으로 감소되어, 3차워적인 깊이가 없어진 화면은 平面化된다. 한편 이지적, 기하적 추상은 화면에서 일체의 장식성을 제거하고 형태를 그 가장 단순한 기하적 요소로 환원시키는데 Minimal Art, Monochrome등으로 이어진다. 특히 1970년대 후반 歐美화단에 새로 나타난 Monochrome Painting은 인상주의 이래 현대회화의 분석적, 감축적 경향이 도달한 논리적 귀결이라 볼 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 이론적 기반으로서 내용적으로 순수 조형론을 내세운 Piet Mondrian과 화면을 덮는 색채로서의 물질감을 중요시하는 Monochrome 작업을 한 Robert Ryman을 연구하였고, 방법적으로는 1960년대 "검은 그림"으로 화면을 극단적으로 감축해 나간 Ad Reinhardt와 서정적 요소와 구성주의적 요소를 화면에 병치시킨 Marc Devade를 연구하면서 본인의 제작 방법과 비교 분석 하였다. 연구의 목적은 우주의 모든 사라지고 다시 나타나는 사물들의 상관관계의 現象에 관심을 갖고 그러한 가변적인 現象의 표현이 화면상에서 어떻게 가능한가 모색하는 것이다. 방법적으로 공기와 같은 비물질적인 화면의 설정과 그러한 화면을 심화시키는 구조와 시간성의 표현, 기법상의 문제를 연구한다. 본론에서 시도한 설명을 통해 조형성의 탐구와 기법상의 표현 가능성을 살피면서 회화적인 가치관을 정립해 나가고자 한다.;The abstract art, being symbolized as colours and forms of the direct way to human moral nature, has taken root to Modernism at the beginning of the 20's and has been devided into two streams expressive, lyrical abstraction and intellectual, geometrical abstraction. The freedom.of individuality is pursued by the expressive, lyrical abstraction in the picture and reached the climax when it came to be abstract expressionism which isn't controlled by intelligence. But in contrast with the abstract expressionism's vigour and intrepidity of 1900's, the lyric abstraction of 1970's is diminishing the vigour and emotion. These characteristics are to tune down to theminimar the depth in colours, forms, and pictures accordingly the picture losing the depth of the 3rd demension becomes a plane. In the other hand, the intellectual and geometrical abstraction eliminates all ornamentation in the picture and is reduced to the simplest geometrical element and succeeding to Mininal Art and Monochrome etc. Especially, Monochrome painting which is newly appeared in the late stage of 1970's in Europe and America is shown the logical consequence being arrived by the analystic and reductive tendency of modern paintings since Cubism. In this thesis, I am studying: In the contents, Piet Mondrian insisting on the pure formationology and Robert Ryman operating Monochrome which is taking a serious view of the density as colours covering the pictures and in a study of methods, Ad Reinhardt who tried out to reduce extremely the pictures by "Black Picture" in 1960's and Marc Devade who matched the lyric element and geometrical element in the picture. The aim at this study is to express the Phenomenal space reflecting the maker's interior consciousness for the chanageable phenomenon of nature that everything in universe is reiterating disappearance and re-disappearance. In a study of methods, I am studying the setting-up of immaterial space like air, the structure making for more intensive of space and the expression of time, the problem of techniques.
