텔레비젼이 靑少年의 價値觀에 미치는 影響에 關한 硏究

Abstract

텔레비젼은 오늘날 우리 生活의 一部分이다. 그리고 텔레비젼과 每日 接하는 靑少年은 앞으로의 世代를 이끌고 나갈 主人이다. 本 硏究는 텔레비젼 시청 및 텔레비젼 프로그램이 靑少年들의 價値觀에 어떠한 影響을 미치고 있으며 그들의 價値觀 形成에 어떠한 從屬變數로서의 매개적 役割을 하고 있는가 하는 点을 考察하는데에 그 目的이 있다. 이러한 硏究目的을 爲해서 우선 價値·價値觀의 槪念과 意義에 關한 關係文獻, 우리나라 靑少年의 價値觀에 關한 先行硏究, 그리고 텔레비전의 影響 및 效果에 關한 關係文獻을 硏究하여 要約했으며 서울市內 5個校 男女 中·高等學校 學生 200名을 對象으로 設問調査를 實施하였다. 이 設問調査 結果 다음과 같은 事實을 밝혀낼 수 있었다. 첫째 텔레비젼은 靑少年의 餘暇活動에 至大한 影響을 미치고 있는데 休日의 경우 그 頻度가 加重되었다. 둘째로 텔레비젼이 靑少年의 價値觀에 미치는 影響은 邦畵보다는 外畵의 比重이 매우 높으며 이는 學年이 올라갈수록 더욱 深化되는 것으로 나타났다. 이것은 흔히 개발도상국 및 미개발국가의 國民이 無條件 發展된 文化를 동경하고 指向하는 價値性向과도 密接한 關係가 있는 것으로 보인다. 그리고 外畵를 많이 시청함으로써 그들의 지나치게 開放的인 學校生活, 異性交際, 父母와의 關係 等에 對해서 선망을 보이는 傾向을 나타내고 따라서 基本的인 價値觀마저 바뀔 可能性을 엿볼 수 있다. 세째로 수사극의 有害性이 再認識되며 호화스러운 背景, 美男 美女들에 對한 感情은 一時的인 同化感보다는 거리감이 있다는 立場이 支配的이었는데 이러한 物質萬能의 風潮는 一般的으로 靑少年의 士氣를 低下시킬 우려가 있으며 그들의 價値觀을 個人主義, 現實妥協主義로 흐르게 할 可能性이 많다. 네째로 텔레비젼의 有害度 中 가장 큰 比重을 차지하는 部分인 不純한 言語를 使用하는 것으로서 텔레비젼이 靑少年을 對象으로 하는 쇼나 개그프로에서 괴상하고 不純한 言語를 만들어 내고 使用함으로써 靑少年들은 그것을 頻繁히 模倣하게 되어 나중에는 不純言語를 다반사로 使用함으로써 日常言語와 混沌까지 하게 할 우려가 있다. 그런데 全般的으로 靑少年들의 價値觀은 텔레비젼 시청시 여러 變因別 - 視聽時間數別, channel 권별, 餘暇善用頻度別, 有害頻度別 - 로 별다른 影響을 받지 않았으며 各 要因의 各其 對立되는 立場에 있어서도 統計的으로 意味있는 差異를 發見할 수 없었다. 그러나 장기시청자일수록 現實妥協을 主張하는 것으로 보아 텔레비전이 個個人에게 미친 價値變化를 推定할 수 있다. 또한 장기 시청자가 家庭에 대한 認識으로 人和團結을 매우 强調하고 있는데, 이것도 텔레비젼의 家庭劇이 靑少年의 價値變化에 影響을 미친 것으로 推定할 수 있다. 이와 같이 텔레비전은 靑少年의 價値觀 形成에 어떤 기여를 하는 것으로 보아지며 따라서 價値觀의 敎育이라는 價値에서 텔레비전의 放映이 再考되어야 할 것으로 보인다. 그런데 價値觀은 複合的인 要素에 依해서 形成되는 것으로 텔레비젼이라는 매체가 靑少年과 어떤 關係를 가지고 있을지라도 그것은 다른 要因別 要素와 複合的인 關係를 考慮해야 하는 데에서 本硏究의 어려움이 있었다.;Nowadays a TV set is regarded as a part of our life. And teenagers who contact with TV set are heroes of next generation. The purpose of this study is to consider the influence of TV watching and programs on the teenager's view of value and its intermediary role, as a variable. on the formation of their views of value. For this purpose, this study examined and summarized the literatures concerned with the ideas of value and the view of value, and with the influence and effect of TV, and the previous study about the teenager's view of value in Korea, and made an enquete toward 200 students of five junior high schools and high schools in Seoul. The findings of this enquete are as follows. (1) TV has great influence on teenager's leisure, especially its influence was greater on holidays. (2) In the influence of TV on the teenager's view of value, the influence of foreign movies is greater than that of domestic ones. This phenomenon is more distinct in high grade students. This seems to be related to the inclination that people in undeveloped and developing countries blindly long for the developed civilization. And through foreign movies, teenagers tend to yearn for the extremely open school life, company with other sex, and relation to parents in foreign countries. Thus, it is possible that the basic view of value of our teenagers will change. (3) Harmfulness of the investigation drama is re-recognized, and toward luxrious backgrounds, handsome and beautiful talents, most teenagers feel disagreement than temporary assimulation. generally, the trend of materialism like this may reduce teenager's motivation and lead them to the individualism and philistinism. (4) The vulgarisms which are made in the shows and gag programs of TV toward teenagers is more harmful than any other harm of TV. Perhaps it is possible that teenagers will immitate those impure words and later confuse those words with everyday language. But as a whole, the teenager's view of value appeared not to be little influenced by many variables in watching - hours of TV watching, channel and the good use of leisure and stastically there was no significant difference according to variables. Long term seers of TV. however, tend to pursue philisitinism. through which we can infer the influence of TV on each individual. Also, they insist strictly on the peace and unity within their home. it seems that home dramas of TV influence the teenager's view of value. Thus, TV seems to make some contribution to the formation of teenager's views of value, so TV broadcasting should be re-considered in the light of the education of their views of value. But since the view of value is formed by complex factors. this study had difficulties in considering the complex relation of TV media with other variables. At any rate, I hope that on the basis of this study the better study on this subject will proceed, through which our teenagers will have the sound view of value and make a great contribution to the whole human world.
