동심을 일깨우는 일러스트레이션 표현 연구

Abstract

My purpose of studying innocence of a child is to express freedom and innocence apart from routine life. The world of innocence of a child can provide possibility of different perspectives which can break routine form of life. Awaking innocence of a child can bring more innocent perspectives away from customs, preconceived ideas, prejudice and fixed ideas. Innocence and curiosity of a child change to preconceived ideas and common senses as children grow up. These lead them to restrictions of their thoughts and visions. As customs, fixed ideas and reality get bigger, they lose innocence and ideal world. However, more or less, innocence like children from anyone is still alive somewhere. This is just invisible because of customs and fixed ideas. The perspectives of children awake emotions of adults with originality or innocence which is not dependent on customized ideas. If they can face their own childlike innocence giving away their own beliefs on experiences, adults can obtain opportunity of new ideas which can only be from children of interests and curiosity. Most of adults have difficulties of having same perspectives as children. They are used to system of ideas and value of ideas from the world as we live in the world. It is impossible to see the world with naked eyes as they take off these preconceived ideas, but they can see the world with rather innocent eyes if they release some customs and fixed ideas which hide emotions. Therefore, my purpose of this study is to give expressions of free imaginations without being reasonable and rational. The structure of thesis is in the following. In chapter II, concepts of innocence have been discussed for the basis of theory. Various interpretations are possible because of abstractive comparisons. Therefore, I have described meanings, characteristics and significances of innocence of a child. as I analyze many kinds of references. Also, I have studied disappearance of innocence from adults and the world of their innocence. In chapter III, As a progress of internal world of innocence, I have taken a look at general characteristics of paintings for children because I would like to take advantage of innocent expressions and creativity. The world of innocence is rather imaginary, emotional and subjective than reasonable, logic and objective. Therefore, innocence of a child can be stimulated from bringing imaginations and thoughts rather than realistic shape, proportion, balance, color and size. I hope my expressions can bring sympathy and route for innocent world.;본인은 순수한 내면의 세계를 찾아가는 과정으로서, 고정된 관습의 일상으로부터 벗어나 자유롭고 순수한 이미지를 표현하기 위한 탐구로 동심의 세계를 연구하게되었다. 동심의 세계는 이미 가지고 있는 틀과 형식을 깨고 사물을 다른 시각으로 바라볼 수 있게 하는 가능성을 제공할 것이라 생각한다. 즉 동심을 일깨운다 함은 내가 가진 관습, 선입관, 편견, 고정관념과 같은 시각의 틀에서 벗어나 조금 더 순수한 눈으로 세상을 바라볼 수 있게 됨을 의미한다. 어린 시절의 순수하고 순박한 감성과 호기심은 어른이 되면서 교육과 관습에 의해 선입관과 상식으로 뒤덮이고, 이것은 우리의 사고와 시각을 왜곡하고 제한하는 틀이 된다. 관습과 고정관념이 커질수록, 현실이 중시될수록 순수함과 꿈과 이상의 세계를 잃어간다. 그러나 다소의 차이는 있지만 누구나 마음속 어딘가에 어린이다운 순수한 감성이 살아있다. 다만 관습과 고정관념으로 뒤덮여서 보이지 않을 뿐이다. 아이들이 세상을 바라보는 시각은 인습적 지식에 매이지 않은'참신함'내지는'순진성'으로 경험과 지식 안에서만 세상을 바라보는 어른들의 감성을 일깨운다. 지식과 경험에서 어른이 우월하다는 습관적인 가정을 버리고 자신안의 어린이와 마주할 준비만 되어있다면, 어른은 어린이가 나타낸 흥미와 호기심이 아니고는 가능하지 못한 생각을 할 수 있는 기회를 얻을 수 있다. 우리의 대부분은 어린아이들이 세상을 바라보는 시각과 똑같은 방식으로 세상을 바라보기는 힘들다. 우리는 세계 속에 살고 있고 세계에 대한 우리의 이해는 그 세계 속의 지식체계나 가치관에 물들어 있기 마련이다. 우리가 이 선입관을 벗고 세계를'맨눈'으로 보는 것은 불가능하지만 우리의 감성을 덮고있는 관습과 고정관념을 조금 덜어 낼 수 있다면 보다 순수한 눈으로 세상을 바라볼 수는 있을 것이다. 따라서 본인은 연구를 통해 감상자가 이성적이거나 합리적이어야 할 필요 없이 자유로운 상상력을 발휘할 수 있는 표현을 탐구하고자 하였다. 본 연구 과정으로 먼저, Ⅱ장에서는 이론적 배경이 되는 동심의 개념에 대해서 고찰해보았다. 동심은 추상적인 비유어이므로 받아들이는 사람마다 다양한 해석이 가능하다. 따라서 본인은 먼저 여러 문헌을 분석하여 동심의 의미를 고찰하고 동심의 특징과 중요성에 대해서 서술하였다. 또한 어린이의 순수한 감성이 어른이 되면서 대부분 사라져버리는 이유와 어른 속의 동심의 세계에 대해 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 순수한 내면의 세계를 찾아가는 과정으로서 어린이의 순수하고 순박한 표현, 창조적 세계를 본인의 작품에서 참고하고자 아동화의 일반적 특징들을 살펴보았다. 또한 작품사례를 통해 표현방법과 내용을 탐구해보았다. 동심의 세계는 현실보다는 꿈과 상상의 세계이고 논리와 이성보다는 감성과 감정의 세계이며, 객관적이기보다는 주관적인 세계라고 생각한다. 따라서 표현에 있어서도 현실적인 형태나 비례와 균형, 색채, 크기에 얽매이지 않는 표현이 더 적합하다고 생각하고 직접적으로 설명하는 그림보다는 상상과 생각을 하게 하는 그림이 우리 안에 내재한 동심을 자극할 수 있으리라 생각한다. 본인의 표현이 보는 이로 하여금 공감대를 형성하며, 순수한 세계를 찾아가는 작은 행로를 제시할 수 있기를 바란다.
