The purpose of this study was to express the transparency of the tree leaves reflecting the lights brilliantly as well as the clear lights swung by the wind between leaves. Since the nature is a source of art, it can be expressed creatively and anew depending on the aesthetic views of it. Accordingly, the researcher focused on the transparency of the tree leaves reflecting the lights brilliantly to express them in a more subjective and aesthetic way from a meditative perspective. Not only the researcher has been interested in or self-fascinated by lights impromptu but also various artists have expressed the lights. In the West, many artists have expressed their interest in lights in the history of art. Since the interests in lights may be one of the human instincts, they cannot be distinguished between East and West, but the attitudes towards lights and perspectives into them have differed between the two hemispheres. The Oriental paintings have been concerned more about the essence than lights, showing not much interests in lights compared with the Western paintings. In the West, however, Michelangelo da Caravaggio expressed the beauty of the surfaces with luxurious colors and light/shade during Baroque era, and later, the Impressionist painters showed another expression of lights by equating lights with colors and thereby, breathing a sense of human lyricism into the colors. Such another mode of expression would influence the 20th-century paintings greatly, only to represent the abstract paintings in the 20th century. One of such abstract paintings or Orphism paintings emphasized the fact that the lights appear through such movements as reflection or waving and thereby, developed another genre of modern art being reaware of the lights. The researcher attempted to review the images of lights theoretically, and thereupon, examine how the expressions of lights have been changed in the history of art and how the perceptions of them have evolved. Namely, changes of emotion and expressions were reviewed intensively. Moreover, the researcher discussed the status and meaning of the nature for artists, and thereby, focused on the lights as part of the nature. Methodologically, the researcher reviewed nature of lights, implications and effects of overlapped lights, and discussed the art schools and artists who applied the overlapping of lights by taking examples. In addition, the researcher explained about the techniques for overlapping the lights, particularly the technique of using Hanji(Korean paper) and India ink required for the background canvas and overlapping expressions. Lastly, the researcher analyzed her works to review how we could approach the lights from an aesthetic perspective of 'transparency' as an effect of the natural motif 'lights', and examine whether researcher's intentions for overlapping of India ink had been successfully delivered. Furthermore, the researcher attempted to compose an abstract screen using such an approach in order to interpret and express the infinitely potential forms of nature in a subjective way and thereby, examine whether researchers' view and image of nature had been effectively materialized.
