사회사업이 가치와 사회사업가의 가차관에 대한 분석적 고찰

Abstract

본 연구는 사회사업의 기본적 요소인 가치를 중심으로 하여 그것이 사회사업의 실천에서 차지하는 역할과 기능을 분석적으로 고찰해 보려는데 그 목적을 두었다. 본 연구에서는 사회사업을 계획적 변화라는 관점에서 보았으며 이때 개입되는 가치차원을 크게 두가지로 한정시켜 살펴 보았다. 즉 Ⅲ장에서는 사회사업가가 클라이언트와 변화관계를 수립할 때 전문직업적으로 받아 들이게 되는 수단적 가치에 대해 살펴 보았으며, Ⅳ장에서는 계획적 변화의 선택차원에 영향을 미치는 사회사업가의 개인적 가치관에 대해 고찰하였다. 여기서 다루어진 가치의 두 차원은 서로 상호작용하면서 사회사업가의 태도와 행위양식에 영향을 미치며, 하나의 평가기준으로서 직접, 간접으로 계획적 변화과정을 이끌게 된다. 그러므로 사회사업가가 보다 목표지향적인 변화를 실현시키기 위해서는 사회사업의 전문직업적 가치와 더불어 자기 자신의 가치관을 밝히려는 노력이 필요하다. 동시에 한국사회에 바람직한 가치의 정립을 통해 우리 사회의 복지향상을 위한 사회사업 실천을 개발하도록 노력하여야 한다.;Social Work is concerned with the fulfilment of human values and one's dignity, so values are the dominant themes of social work practice. The aim of this study is to examine the values and the conflict it presents in social work practice. If social work is to be a planned change, values are decidedly the most important factor influencing the direction of change and its scope. Thus, this study intends to examine two dimensions of values - professional and personal values - implied in planned change. In Chapter Ⅱ, the value of social work was examined theoretic ally with the particular emphasis on its operational definition and limitations in practice. And the relationship between human values and choice was discussed in detail. Chapter Ⅲ deals with the instrumental values of social work. These values can be considered to be professional and operationally defined values, which are contributed to the attainment of the terminal values of social work. Among them, there are included self - determination, non - judgemental attitude, confidentiality etc. These instrumental values influence the social worker's mode of behavior or his attitude toward client in change - oriented relationship. Thus the professional worker should clarify not only the manifest but also latent function of these values. In Chapter Ⅳ, the worker's personal values were analyzed in view of value - preference, because personal values also might give a critical effect on the social worker's choice of concepts or theories to be used and value systems one chooses in achieving the goal- oriented change more strategically. Particularly, in view of the fact that social work method we apply to is brought in from the West, indegenous cultural elements and factore involving value system should be cultivated.
