현대 텍스타일의 주름표현에 관한 연구

Abstract

인간의 역사와 같이 해온 직물은 과거부터 현재까지 고유의 재료와 다양한 표현 기법으로 인간의 미적욕구를 충족시키며 지속적으로 변천해오고 있다. 오늘날 직물의 외관은 다양한 신소재의 개발과 발달로 인해 기존의 고정된 시각에서 벗어난 새로운 형태로 점차 변환하고 있다. 특유의 조형 특성과 기능적 특성으로 고대부터 현재까지 직물의 외관을 입체적으로 바꾸어놓는 가장 기본적인 방법인 주름은 현대 디자인이 요구하는 감성과 기능성을 동시에 지니고 있는 적합한 디자인 소재라고 할 수 있다. 현재 직물의 표면을 새롭게 변형시키는 주름과 관련된 실험적이고 다양한 연구가 텍스타일 디자이너들의 전문적인 연구 분야로 활발하게 전개되고 있다. 본 논문은 현대 텍스타일 분야에 전문적인 디자인 연구 분야로 자리잡은 직물의 주름 표현을 다양한 소재를 사용하여 창조적인 주름을 표현하는 것에 연구의 목적이 있으며, 연구의 진행을 위한 일반적인 이론적 배경으로는 주름의 기원을 주름의 형태적 특징과 제작 기법에 따라 특성이 다른 고대 이집트와 그리스로 나누어 문헌 자료 및 사진 자료를 통해 고찰하였으며, 주름이 가진 특징들을 참고 서적 및 관련 자료를 통해 알아보았다. 또한 현대 텍스타일 분야에서 응용되고있는 주름 제작 기술을 후가공에 의한 표현 방법과 제직 기법에 의한 표현 방법으로 나누어 섬유 전문 이론 서적 및 참고 서적을 통해 조사하였다. 이와 같은 이론적 배경을 토대로 다양한 섬유 소재 사용을 중심으로 작품 제작을 하였으며 본 연구에서 얻은 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기본적인 직조 기법을 응용하여 조직의 밀도와 조직도의 변형으로 다양한 형태의 새로운 주름 패턴을 제시 할 수 있으며 유사한 조직도를 응용할 경우 경사와 위사로 사용한 소재의 고유한 특성에 따라 주름의 형태를 새롭게 창출할 수 있다. 둘째, 소재의 사용에 있어 주름을 효과적으로 표현하기 위해 사용한 스판덱스사는 직물 전체에 신축성을 줄 뿐만 아니라 형태 또한 자유롭게 변할 수 있는 기능적인 직물로 제작 할 수 있다. 유연한 금속성 소재인 동선은 연구자의 의지대로 주름의 형태를 자유롭게 표현 할 수 있으며 직물의 형태 유지에도 효과적이다. 셋째, 색상의 선택에 있어 경사와 위사에 사용한 소재의 색상 명도차를 뚜렷하게 하여 주름의 형태를 명확하게 나타낼 수 있으며 경, 위사의 색상을 유사하게 선택하여 제직할 경우 광택이 나는 금속 특수사와 은색 광택 특수사를 직물의 전체 또는 부분적으로 사용함으로써 주름의 부조적 질감을 더욱 효과적으로 강조 할 수 있다.

;fabrics to go along with human history from past to present, have changed continuously satisfying the desire for beauty by using specific materials and creating various techniques of expression. In the present, the development and improvement of the new diverse materials have led to the changes of the appereance of Textile fabrics. Specially ‘Pleats’, which is one of the most basic methods of making fabrics three-dimensional for its functional and molding characterisic, is the suitable design matter for sensitivity and function, and many textile designers are making a experimental and mainfold study of it. The object of this dissertation is to design the creative pleats by using various materials, and the generally theoretical base is the documents and photographs of the ancient Egypt and Greece which are divided by studying the quality and production technique of the pleats. Also here I viewed the coming-up of new pleats textile fabrics which is different from the past expression of pleats from two different standpoints, Processing Technique part and Weaving Technique part, and examined the design charasteristics and material diversity by refering to fiber data, journal, and textile research etc. I made a work based on the above theoretical backgrounds with various textile materials and made following conclusions from this study. First, the change of Tissue density and Draft by adapting the basic weaving technique can lead to the new pattern of pleats, and application of the similar Draft can make a transformation of pleats which is the result of the characteristics of the material used as Weft and Warp. Second, Spandex Yarn used to make pleats effectively outstanding makes the fabrics all over flexible, also possible to change freely. Copper wire soft metal material can help pleats freely expressed as the researcher intends. Third, Weft and Warp with distinctly different brightness can make the shape of pleats clear after weaving. In case of using similar tones of color, brilliant metal special yarn and silver special yarn on the whole or partially can make the embossing effect clearer.
