Johannes Brahms Violin Sonata No.2, Op.100에 관한 연구

Abstract

Johannes Brahms(1833-1897)는 19세기 낭만주의 시대에 독일 절대 음악을 고수한 보수파의 대표적 작곡가로 고전적 틀에 낭만주의 이념을 표현하여 독자적인 작품세계를 이루었다. Brahms는 opera 와 발레 음악을 제외하고 교향곡을 비롯하여 협주곡, 가곡, 합창곡, 실내악곡등 거의 전 분야에 걸쳐 작품을 남겼다. 실내악 분야에서 24곡의 작품을 발표했으며 그 중 Violin Sonata는 모두 세 곡으로 Mozart나 Beethoven에 비해 그 수는 적으나 질적인 면에서 낭만 시대 최고의 걸작으로 오늘날 가장 많이 연주되고 있다. Brahms Violin Sonata No. 2, Op.100은 세 개의 Sonata 중 가장 선율적인 곡으로 3개의 악장으로 구성되어 있으며 1악장은 Sonata 형식, 2악장은 ABA`B`A``B``로 구성된 가요형식, 3악장은 Rondo형식이다. 1, 2악장은 성격이 다른 2개의 주제를 등장시켜 이를 반복, 모방, 확대시켜 나갔고 3악장은 따뜻한 주제 선율과 1, 2악장의 주제 동기들을 새로운 요소로 사용했다. 세 개의 악장 모두 당김음, 2 : 3 복합리듬, 지속음, 붓점등의 리듬적 요소가 나타나며 화성은 선율에서는 온음계적이지만 피아노의 반주에서 반음계가 많이 사용되어 색채적이고 전조가 많다. 본 논문은 Violin Sonata No. 2, Op.100을 각 악장별로 형식, 화성, 선율, 리듬을 중심으로 분석하고 그의 작품 세계 이해하도록 도움으로써 작곡가의 의도에서 벗어나지 않게 연주하는 것을 돕고자 하는 데에 그 목적이 있다.;Johannes Brahms (1833-1897) was a German composer who represented conservative absolute music in the 19th century romanticism. He wrote in a unique music style that his world of music may be characterized as a romantic one with classical form. Although Brahms did not leave any pieces from opera or ballet, he wrote other various range of composition, including symphony, concerto, lied, choral music and chamber music. He composed some twenty four works in chamber music including three sonatas for Violin and Piano. His violin sonatas are regarded as one of the best masterpieces in the romantic era and the most played today. Brahms Violin Sonata No.2, Op.100 is the most lyrical and songful sonata than his three others. This sonata is composed of three movements. The first movement is in sonata form. The second movement is in lied (three parts) form, consisted in ABA`B`A``B``. The last movement is in Rondo. The first and second movement have two subjects which are different characters. Subjects are extended, repeated, imitated. The third movement has warm, lyrical melody and the subject motive of first, second movement are used by new element. The rhythm is characterized by syncopation, 2:3 complex rhythm, cross rhythm, dotted notes in all movement. Pedal point is seen in the left had part of piano. In harmony, the melody is made of whole-tone scale, the piano part is used by chromatic progression. This thesis - Analysis of Brahms Violin Sonata No2, Op.100- is aimed at clarifying the musical characteristics of Brahms' work through a detailed analysis of form, melody, rhythm, and harmony from each movement.
