공.사립 유치원 초임교사가 지각한 교사의 역할

Abstract

본 연구의 목적은 유치원 초임 교사를 대상으로 하여 예비교사 때와 교사 때 지각한 교사 역할의 차이를 유치원 설립 유형별로 비교 분석하는 것이다. 이에 따른 구체적인 연구 문제는 다음과 같다. 1. 공·사립 유치원 초임교사가 예비교사 때 지각했던 교사의 역할은 어떠한가? 2. 공·사립 유치원 초임교사가 현재 지각하고 있는 교사의 역할은 어떠한가? 3. 공·사립 유치원 초임교사가 예비교사 때 지각했던 교사의 역할과 현재 지각한 교사의 역할간의 차이는 어떠한가? 본 연구의 대상은 서울시와 경기도 공·사립 유치원 교사들 중 교사 경력이 4년 미만인 초임교사 121명이었다. 본 연구에서는 Cho와 Saracho(1997)의 '역할 수행 평정척도'에서 제시된 유아교사의 역할 유형에 기초하여 보충할 문항들을 추가하고 문항 배열과 용어를 수정한 후 유아교육 전문가로부터 타당도 검증을 거쳐서 작성한 '유치원 초임교사가 지각한 교사의 역할' 설문도구를 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 평균, 표준편차, t-검증을 통하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유치원 예비교사 때 유아교사의 역할에 대한 지각 정도는 전반적으로 높으며 그 중에서도 '일과 계획 및 수행자', '상담자 및 조언자'로서의 역할에 대한 지각정도가 가장 높았고, '행정업무 및 관리자'로서의 역할에 대해서는 지각 정도가 비교적 가장 낮았다. 둘째, 유치원 초임교사의 유아교사의 역할에 대한 지각 정도는 전반적으로 높으며 그 중에서도 '상담자 및 조언자', '일과 계획 및 수행자'로서의 역할 순으로 지각정도가 가장 높았고, '연구자'로서의 역할에 대해서는 지각 정도가 비교적 가장 낮게 나타났다. 근무기관에 따라서는 '교육과정 설계자', '상담자 및 조언자', '연구자', '행정업무 및 관리자'로서의 역할에서 공립 유치원 초임교사가 사립 유치원 초임교사보다 지각 정도가 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 유치원 초임교사가 예비교사 때 지각했던 유아교사의 역할과 현재 지각한 유아교사의 역할의 차이는 크게 나타났는데, 예비교사 때보다 현재 더 지각 정도가 높게 나타났다. 근무기관에 따라서는 공립 유치원 초임교사는 모든 역할 유형에 대해서 현재 더 높게 지각하고 있는 것으로 나타났고, 사립 유치원 초임교사는 '행정업무 및 관리자'로서의 역할에 대해서 예비교사 때보다 현재 더 낮게 지각하고 있었다.;The purpose of this study is to see the perception gap of the newly hired teachers, if any, between before and after they are hired in the public or private kindergarten. The more specific research questions are as following: 1. What is the teacher's role the private or public kindergarten teachers thought before they are hired? 2. What is the teacher's role the private or public kindergarten teachers think after they are hired? 3. How is the current understanding the newly hired kindergarten teachers have about the teacher's role different from what they had? The target group of this study consists of 121 teachers from the private or the public kindergartens in Seoul and Gyeonggi area who have been hired less than 4 years. By modifying the early childhood teachers' role rating scale(ECTRRS) developed by Cho and Saracho (1997), this thesis uses the questionnaire of "the recognized role of kindergarten teacher,"which is reviewed and verified by the child-education experts. The collected data is analyzed by using the statistical methods such as average, standard deviation and t-test. The results of this study are as following: First, the would-be kindergarten teachers show fair understanding about the role of the teacher, especially that of "planner and performer of instruction," "curriculum designer," or "counselor / advisor," but show poor understanding about that of "manager of administrative affair." Second, the newly hired kindergarten teachers show fair understanding about the role of the "counselor / advisor," or that of "planner and performer of instruction," but show relatively poor understanding about their role of "researcher." Comparing the teachers in the public kindergartens to the teachers in the private kindergartens, thenewly hired teachers in the public kindergartens show the better understanding about their role of "curriculum designer," "counselor / advisor," "researcher," "manager of administrative affair" than the teachers in the private kindergartens. Third, the perception gap about the role of the kindergarten teachers between the would-be and the currently hired are shown to be wide: the currently hired teachers show better understanding about the role of the kindergarten teachers. The newly hired teachers in the public kindergarten have better recognition about the overall roles of the kindergarten teacher than the ones in the private kindergarten; the teachers in the private kindergarten show poorer understanding about the role of "manager of administrative affair" than they used to be the would-be teachers.
