Abstract
;This study is to visualize some aspects of daily life by means of the narrative image in photography. And the ways of describing the sphere of time for the sequence will also be examined in the contact print technique. Having employed the contact print which develops multiple images in a certain context, in place of the isolated, individual image, a autobiographical method that could be accept or represent quotidian stories have been researched.: quotidian, in Barthe`sian sense of 'biograph'me'. That is to say, a kind of diary, registered by photographies, has been written through the narrative sequence. One can say that it is a diary without word, recorded not in accord with the legend or text but only by the proper quality of photographic image itself. It is the key point of this work whether a narrative could be or not composed of sequence of photographies without lying on the caption or the text as silent film could be. In doing so, I would examine in the faculty of telling of the photography which seems to be impotent between the pictorial representation and the cinema. We have the idea in general that the main character of photographic image is of its monumentality and symbolism caused by the immobility. In a sense, the combination of multiple images from the editing like the 'photo-story' sometimes tells less the story than simply illustrates the text. The work has not any way regarded the graphic illustration nor the succeeded frames of cinematic film but the search for the narrative dimension of the photography on its structural base other than the another visual arts. As the sequence develops on numbering on the negatives, in the order of shuttering time, the temporal unity defined by it will be respected. And I would be in opposition to the old concept of contact print understood as a genre of preliminary work for just one final print. I would rather get the concept as structure, something unveiling the temporary and visual order on the tableau, that is a sequence. For the realization, an old, classic camera have been used. It is a folding type and the format is 6x9. The objective is not rapid so that the image on the positive is more obscure, soft than the ordinary one. And so, I would take for a work, the unfolding positive images on paper from several roll films. The quotidian, as a extremely private anecdote, could bring us some biographical narrative in photographic sequence?
