고등학생 시민윤리의식 함양에 관한 실증적 분석

Abstract

인간은 홀로 살 수 없는 존재이다. 오늘날 한국 사회는 산업화를 거치면서 과거의 전통사회와는 다른 공동체 사회로 변모하고 있다. 시민사회는 시민들의 다양함과 개개인의 인격을 존중함을 바탕으로 합리주의적이고 공리주의적인 성격을 띠고 있다. 이러한 성숙한 사회를 만드는 것은 시민들의 몫이며, 그로 인한 개인 행복의 만족도를 높이는 것도 시민 개개인의몫인 것이다. 본 논문에서는 올바른 시민사회를 구성하기 위한 방법모색을 위해 성인직전 예비단계인 고등학생 577병을 대상으로 연구를 하였다. 시민윤리의식은 다차원적인 의미를 가지고 있기 때문에 본 논문에서는 관용의식, 평등의식, 타협의식, 준법의식이 4가지 차원으로 조작적 정의를 내려 시민윤리의식에 영향을 미치는 요소를 분석하고 사회화과정에 있는 학생들의 시민윤리의식을 높이기 위한 방안을 모색해 보고자한다. 시민윤리의식은 인간의 내면화 과정을 필요로 하는 도덕성과 행위주체의 자율성이 함께 구비될 때 긍정적 자아를 갖춘 올바른 시민의 자질을 갖출 수 있다. 그렇다면 이러한 올바른 시민의 자질은 어떻게 형성이 되는 것인가? 많은 변수들이 있지만 본 논문에서는 가정·학교의 교육적 환경, 개인의 생활태도 면에서 나타나는 시민윤리의식의 변수인 대인관계와 매스미디어를 통한 사회 문제의 관심도를 조사하여 영향력을 알아보았다. 결과 분석 후 느낀 점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시민윤리의식은 타자와의 관계를 어떻게 유지하는 것이 올바른 가에 중점을 두는 것인 만큼 가정이나 학교에서의 부모님, 선생님의 가치관과 태도에 따른 영향력이 중요함을 알게 되었고, 그들의 권위가 학생들에게 커다란 의의를 부여한다는 것을 알게 되었다. 둘째, 아무리 현대 사회가 이기적이고 냉정하다고 하지만 각 개인의 인간적인태도는 시민윤리의식에도 도움을 주는 요인으로 분석되었다. 즉, 대인관계에 있어서 또래나 이웃과 상호관계가 있는 학생들의 시민윤리의식이 유의미한 차이를 보이며 놓은 영향을 미친다는 결과가 나왔는데, 타인과의 관계는 '우리의식'을 통해 자신의 정체감을 찾고 도덕적 판단능력이 도덕적 실천으로 연결될 수 있음을 알 수 있다. 셋째, 매스미디어를 통해 습득되는 사회적 관심도는 시민윤리의식 함양에 여향을 준다. 현대 사회는 정보화 사회로서 학생들은 인터넷, 신문, TV등을 통해 사회에서 일어나는 다양한 문제들을 간접적으로 접촉하게 된다. 이러한 간접경험은 자신이 그 사건에 대해 어떠한 태도 가지게 되느냐에 따라 도덕성발달에 영향을 미칠 수 있는데, 사회적 문제의 관심 정도를 통해 분석해 보았다. 사회문제에 관심이 없는 학생들은 관심이 있는 학생들에 비해 시민윤리의식이 현저하게 낮아졌는데, 이것은 개인적·이기적인 그들의 태도와 관련이 있는 것으로 분석된다. 본 연구에서 밝혀진 결과에 근거해 볼 때, 가정·학교·사회·국가의 원활한 운영을 위해서는 사회의 공정하고 정당한 제도 운영과 그에 따른 시민들의 긍정적인 사고와 타인과 함께 산다는 공동체 의식이 필수 요건임을 알 수 있다. 현 시대의 시민윤리의식 함양에 기초가 되는 것은 가정과 학교 교육의 주목적에 관하여 다시 한번 생각해보고, 사회제도적인 면에서도 국가의 발전을 위한 공교육 권위의 중요성을 깨닫고 시민윤리의식 개선마련을 위한 대비책을 강화해야 할 때라고 생각한다. ;Human beings cannot survive alone. Today Korean society has changed from an old fashion traditional society to a more collaborated society going through industrial times civil society has respective people individually and has a more rational and utilitarian personality. It is up to the people to make this kind of society. Also being happy individually is up to the people as well. In this essay we have studied 577 high school students to find a way to make an upright society. Because one's ethics has many meanings in this essay we defined 4kinds of meanings which are public, equality, compromise and strength the law. By studying these 4characteristics we will be able to see what these students go through in social life and find a way to higher their knowledge about an upright civil society. What a person goes through inside ethics, freedom to get and a positive mind set measures if one has the capability to be an upright citizen. If so how did the reasons come to be? There may be many variations. In this essay we have studied household school's educational system, and personal behavior to see if there was any signs of social ethics. We also researched interest in social problems through personal relations and mass media. The following is what was felt after analyzing the results. First, to be aware of social ethics one should be able to maintain relationships with other people. Plus we were able to find out how big of an effect the household, school, parents and teacher's values had on the students. Also their authority played a big role. Second even if today's society is self-seeking and cold, one's human side helped a lot on being aware of social ethics. It was shown that a student with good relationship with their friends and neighbors have a high sense of awareness on social ethics. Relationship with others helped the students find a self character and were able to put moral ideas into action. Third, interest in mass media effects cultivation. In today's society students are able to learn about problems in society through the internet, newspaper and TV contact with certain incidents determine the behavior of students morally in the future. We have analyzed the student's interest with social problems. Students who have no interest about social problems showed lower awareness of social ethics than the self-searching and selfish behavior was the reason. In this research we were able to find out that to run our household, school, society, country and society needs to find a fair and correct system. Plus an affirmative mind set and collaborating to live with one another is a must. We must keep in mind that knowledge from the house to school are the foundations of social ethics culture. Looking at the aspect of social system we must realize the importance of education. It is time to strengthen the awareness of society ethics.
