4-7세 유아를 위한 그림책 일러스트레이션에서의 감성전달을 위한 색채표현 연구

Abstract

인간은 빛이 있어서 눈으로 물체의 색채와 형태를 볼 수 있다. 빛에 의해서 나타나는 색채는 파장의 길고 짧음에 따라 나뉘고, 형태는 그 물체 고유의 어떠한구조를 보여준다. 과학적으로 빛의 파장에 따라서 여러 가지로 나뉘는 색채는 인간을 감성적으로 동요시킨다. 그 한 예로 단파장인 빨강을 따뜻하게 느끼고, 장파장인 파랑을 차갑게 느끼는 것을 들 수 있다. 우리는 그림을 볼 때 전체적으로 지각하게 되는데, 이 때 가장 직접적으로 감성에 작용하는 것은 형태보다 색채의 영향이 더 크다. 따라서 본인은 그림에 있어서 감성을 전달하는 색채를 위주로 표현해 보고자 하였다. 색채는 유아에게 있어서도 시각적 인상을 강하게 남기는 것으로, 그림책 일러스트레이션에서 중요한 요소이다. 유아는 그림책을 보면서 자기가 경험해 보지 못한 세계에 대해 상상하게 되고, 모르는 것을 알게 되기도 한다. 또한 그림책을 보고 난 후 받은 느낌은 오랫동안 기억에 남아 인성형성에도 영향을 받을 수 있다. 이렇게 중요한 그림책의 일러스트레이션은 내용의 전달과 함께 글로만 표현하기에는 한계가 있는 주인공의 심리나 사건의 전개에 따른 분위기 등을 나타낼 수 있어야 한다. 이것은 색채를 이용하여 보다 효과적으로 표현할 수 있다. 왜냐하면 색채는 직접적으로 인간의 감성에 영향을 미치므로 감성을 전달하는 데에는 조형요소 중에서 가장 적합한 것이기 때문이다. 본 연구 과정으로 먼저, Ⅱ장에서는 본 연구의 그림책 일러스트레이션을 접하는 대상으로 설정한 4-7세 유아의 인지발달에 관하여 지각발달 이론과 피아제의 인지발달 이론, 신피아제 학파의 인지발달 이론에 관하여 살펴보았다. 또한, 유아에게 있어 시지각 경험의 중요성과 그 시지각 경험 중의 하나인 그림책 일러스트레이션의 의미를 고찰해 보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 감정, 정서와 구별되는 감성의 개념에 관하여 알아보고, 유아의 감성발달 과정과 유아에게 감성 경험이 얼마나 요r구한지에 대해서 다루었다. Ⅳ장에서는 감성적 요소인 색채의 개념과 유아의 색채 지각 발달, 그리고 4-7세 유아를 중심으로 유아의 색채 선호도, 색채 심리, 색채 연상에 관한 기존의 연구를 통해 유아가 색채를 접했을 때 어떻게 반응하는지를 알아보았다. 이러한 이론적인 고찰을 통해 유아에게 시각적 경험이 중요하고, 그것은 색채를 통해서 더 효과적으로 전달되며, 곧 유아의 감성 발달을 자극한다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구자는 시간의 흐름에 따라서 주인공의 감성이 변화되는 내용을 창작하여 그림책에 활용하였으며, 일러스트레이션에서는 감성을 잘 전달할 수 있는 색채에 관하여 연구하고자 하였다. 각 장면에서 느낄 수 있는 감성에 대하여 주조색과 보조색의 조화, 대비 등의 방법을 통한 배색을 하였다. 또한 색채를 부각시키기 위해 형태는 최소한 단순화 시켰으며, 질감도 첨가해 보았다. 그리고 본인의 작품을 실제 유아에게 보여주고 반응을 살펴봄으로써 본인의 색채표현이 유아들에게 감성전달이 잘 될 수 있는지 조사하여 연구를 뒷받침하였다. 본 논문을 통하여 유아에게 그림책 일러스트레이션에서 색채를 통한 감성적 경험이 중요함을 알고 이를 활용할 수 있기를 바란다. ; Light enables man to perceive colors and shapes of objects. Colors are divided according to the wavelength, while shapes reveal the indigenous frame of objects. Shapes are clearly distinctive, while colors can assume indefinite features. Scientifically put, colors have the sense of temperature, which stirs up people to sensibility. For example, red color with a short wavelength feels warm, but blue color with a long wavelength feels cold. A painting is perceived as a whole, but what affects human sensibility more is not shapes, but colors. Thus, this dissertation is aimed at expIore the colors which appeal to sensibility effectively. Colors leave children with strong visual impression, and are an important factor in children's illustrated storybooks. children, reading illustrated storybooks, are guided into the imagination of the world unknown to them and into knowledge of things new. Besides, the feelings they go through in the course of reading can last for a long time and contribute to their personality formation. Hence, illustrations in children's storybooks, beyond the restrictions of representation by letters, can represent the protagonist's psychology as well as changes in atmosphere as a story unfolds and also convey certain messages. In this sense, colors can be more effective than letters because colors directly affect human sensibility and are the most appropriate plastic factor in terms of conveyance of sensibility. Therefore, this research first visits perception, in chapterⅡ, development theories on children's cognitive development, Piaget's cognitive development theory and new Piaget school's cognitive theories. It also addresses importance of visual perception experience in children and significance of illustrated storybooks as a visual perception experience. Theoretical consideration has shown that visual experience is very important to children and that it is better conveyed to them by means of colors and stimulates children's sensibility development. In chapter Ⅲ, search for meaning of sensibility in distiction from feeling and emotion, and study about children's sensibility development proses and how important that children experience sensibility. In chapter Ⅳ, by using the formerly performed study about the conception of a color, which is an emotional factor, the advance of children color perception, the color preference of children, who are mostly from four to seven years old, a color psychology, and a color association, we have carried out a research on how children respond to a color. In this dissertation, a creative story where the protagonist's sensibility changes with the passage of time is made up and represented by illustrations, which deal with the colors effective to convey sensibility. The color scheme is arranged for each sensibility from a scene through harmony and contrast of main colors and sub colors. Shapes are simplified to the minimum to bring colors into relief, and tactile impression is added to the illustrations. The dissertation aims to present a series of colors that are effective to convey sensibility so that it can contribute to raising awareness of the importance of sensibility experiences by children through illustrations and to further applications of such color. Lastly, the dissertation also addresses the concept of sensibility in comparison with feeling and emotion, and deals with the importance of sensibility development processes in children and of sensibility experiences by children.
