가족 치료에 있어서 BOWEN 理論과 MINUCHIN 理論의 비교 연구

Abstract

가족 치료법은 1950년대부터 급속히 발전하여 Nathan Ackerman이 뉴욕을 중심으로 발전시킨 정신분석학적 방법과 독창적 이론을 발표한 Bowen방법과 캘리포니아 중심의 의사소통 모델과 필라델피아를 중심한 구조적 치료법 및 제2의 의사소통 집단인 전략적 치료법 등이 두각을 드러내었다. 그중 Bowen은 8가지 기본개념을 제시하여 가족치료에 발전을 가져왔다. 즉 정서체계와 지적체계의 구분을 표시한 자아구분의 정도, 세사람의 정서 체계를 표시한 삼각관계론, 핵가족안에서의 문제를 제시한 핵가족의 정서체제, 이밖에도 가족의 투사 과정, 정서적차단, 세대간의 전달 과정, 형제 자매 위치, 사회적 퇴화 등의 개념이 있다. Minuchin은 구조적 가족 치료법을 개발하였는데 그 방법은 가족의 구조가 명확한 경계를 갖는가를 파악하여 치료자의 개입으로 재구조화를 발생시키는 것이다. 재구조화 (restructuring)가 이루어지면 왜곡된 위치에 있던 IP가 새로운 경험을 얻게 되고 이에 따라 온 가족의 역동성과 상호작용이 변화된다. Bowen이론과 Minuchin이론은 둘 다 가족을 체계로 보는 특성이 있으며, Bowen이론의 삼각관계론은 Minuchin의 고형 三人群 (rigid triad) 개념과 유사하고 Bowen의 정서적 차단의 개념은 Minuchin의 경계의 개념과 연관된다.;Family therapy has shown a rapid development in the developed countries since 1950. There are 5 typical approaches; the psychoanalytic model developed by Nathan Ackerman, the Bowen approach, the communication model, structural therapy, and strategic therapy. This thesis will present the Bowen theory and structural theory only. Bowen presents 8 basic concepts; level of differentiation concept; triangulation concept, emotional system of nuclear family, family projection process, emotional cutoff, intergenerational transmission process, sibling position, social regression. The structural theory searches out the family as a total system. In that total system, there exist parent subsystem, the spouse subsystem, and the sibling subsystem. Subsystems can have clear boundary, or enmeshed boundary, or disengaged boundary each other. Through the intervention of the therapist, the family can experience a new form or system of relationship. By this transformation process the family dynamics and interaction will be enable to change. The therapist should have skill of joining the family and restructuring the family. In conclusion Bowen's triangulation concept and the rigid triads concept of the structural therapy approach show many similarities. Both approaches view the family as a system. The emotional cut-off concept of the Bowen Theory, in like manner, can be correlated with disengaged boundary analysis of structural therapy.
