道德的 判斷能力과 道德的 行爲(正直性)와의 相關硏究

Abstract

This study is attempted to bring light on the relationship between moral judgement and honesty in the moral conduct, for groping the planning and implemention of moral education. To accomplish this purpose, the level of moral judgement ability of an individual, conceptualized by Kohlberg(1904) as the level of moral levelopment, was compared with tho level of his honesty measured by three method for honesty measurement. The problems to be answered in this study were as follows : 1. Is the level of moral judgement ability of an individual related to the level of his honesty? 2. What kind of relationship is there between the level of moral judgement ability of an individual and his intelligence? 3. And also what kind of relationship between the level of honesty of an individual and his intelligence? 4. What kind of relationship is there between the level of moral judgement ability of an individual and the results of teacher's ratings for his honesty? 5. And also what kind of relationship between the level of honesty of an individual and the results of the teacher's for his honesty? The hypotheses to be Tested in this study were as follows : The main hypothesis ; There might be positive relationship between the level of moral judgement ability of an individual and the level of his honesty. The secondary hypothesis 1 : The level of moral judgene nt ability of an individual may have positive relationship with the level of his intelligence. The secondary hypothesis 2 : The level of honesty of an individual may have positive relationship with the level of his intelligence. The secondary hypothesis 3 : The level of moral judgement ability of an individual may have positive relationship with the results of teacher's ratings for his honesty. The secondary hypothesis 4 : The level of honesty of an individual may have positive relationshio with the results of teacher's ratings for his honesty. The sample of this study is consisted 65 first year middle school girls(12-14 years of age). The level of moral judgement ability of the subjects, measured as six stages of moral development of Kohlberg with two dilemma stories, ranges on from 2nd to 4th stage like the results of the previous studies. The level of honesty of the subjects was measured by the three kinds of honesty test, which was consisted of the individual's honest conduct in the specific situation. For the level of intelligence of the subjects, the results of the standerdized test, already tested in the school, was used and the teacher made record for the subjects' honesty level. To test the above mentioned hypotheses, biserial coefficient of correlation(r_(b)), product-moment correlation cofficient(r) and correlation cofficient were used and the result was investigated CR-test to know whether it is significient or not. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The individual's moral judgement ability level is positively correlated with his honesty level as hypothesized, that is, the individual with higher level of moral judgement ability is more honest than the one with the lower level. 2. The individual's moral judgement ability level is positively correlated with his intelligence level and his honesty level also positively correlated with his intelligence one as hypothesized. Namely, the individual possessing the high intelligence level has high levelof moral judgement ability and high level of honesty. 3. The individual's moral judlemant, ability level is positively correlated with the results of teacher's rating's for his honesty, but any correlation was not found between the individual's honesty level and the results of teacher's ratings for his honesty. It is noteworthy that the results of the teacher's ratings for individual's honesty is positively correlated with his intelligence scroe. Considering the above result, it seems like that teachers sight evaluate students' honesty level on the intellectual factor. As the tool for messuring the honesty level of an individual used in this study was designed and □ade. In spite of exerting all possible efforts to measure the honesty level of an individual, it seems that only woner honesty was measured. Futher study about the tool for mesuring the honesty level more suitably and inclusively. Futhermore, the correlation between the moral judgement and moral conduct to say nothing of honesty should be studied much. If as implied in the results of this study, the moral judgement ability level is positively related with honesty level, moral education should be directed toward the students cultivating the moral judgement ability in relation to moral problem situation.;本 硏究는, 크게는 道德的 判斷能力과 道德的 行爲와의 關係를, 작게는 道德的인 判斷能力(認知的인 측면)과 正直性과의 關係를 究明하므로서, 道德敎育의 指導方案을 模案하는데 보탬이 되고자 시도한 것이다. 이를 위해 Kohlberg(1964)의 認知發達理論에 의한 道德性 發達水準과 本 硏究者가 製作한 세가지의 正直性 檢査 結果와의 相關을 謫査하였다. 本 硏究에서 究明하고자 하는 問題는 구체적으로 다음과 같다. 1. 個人의 道德的 判斷能力과 正直性과는 어떠한 關係가 있는가? 2. 個人의 道德的 判斷能力과 知能은 어떠한 關係가 있는가? 3. 個人의 正直性과 知能과는 어떠한 關係가 있는가? 4. 個人의 道德的 判斷能力은 敎師의 學生 個個人의 正直性에 관한 評定 結果와 어떠한 關係가 있는가? 5. 個人의 正直性과 敎師의 評定 結果와는 어떠한 關係가 있는가? 위의 硏究問題를 究明하기 위하여 다음과 같은 가설을 說定하였다. 主假說 : 道德的 判斷能力(道德性 發達水準)과 道德的 行爲 중 正直性과는 正的相關이 있다. 副次假說 1 : 道德的 判斷能力 (道德性 發達水準)과 知能과는 正的相關이 있다. 副次假說 2 : 道德的 行爲 중 正直性과 知能과도 正的相關이 있다. 副次假說 3 : 道德的 判斷能力 (道德性 發達水準)과 敎師의 學生 個個人의 正直性에 관한 評定 結果와는 正的相關이 있다. 副次假說 4 : 道德的 行爲 중 正直性과 敎師의 評定 結果와도 正的相關이 있다. 假說 檢證을 위하여 女子中學校 1학년 1학급 65名을 被驗者로 選定하여, 먼저 道德的 判斷能力을 測定하였다. 被驗者틀의 道德的 判斷能力은 Kohlberg의 두가지 딜렘머 이야기를 사용하여 道德性 發達의 平均水準은 Kohlberg의 6段階 가운데 2~4段階에 거의 正常的으로 分布되어 있으며 그 平均水準은 3.31로서(M=3.31, SD=1.O5) 3段階와 4段階의 중간보다 약간 아래 쪽에 속해 있다고 볼 수 있었다. 이러한 結果는 先行硏究 結果와 一致하는 傾向을 띠고 있었다. 正直性 檢査(눈감고 곡선걷기 檢査, 구슬꿰기 檢査, 재채점 檢査등 3種)를 실시하여, 正直性이 높은 集團을 +, 낮은 集團 -로 兩分하였으며, 知能檢査는 學校에서 이미 실시한 標準化 檢査의 結果를 活用 하였다. 또한 敎師의 學生 個個人에 대한 正直性 評定은 硏究者가 作成한 簡使 評定尺을 活用하여 結果를 整理하였다. 本 硏究의 假說을 檢證하기 위하여, 兩分 상관계수(γ_(b)), 積率 相關係數(γ), 四類 相關係數(φ)가 사용된다. 主假說의 檢證 結果, 道德的 判斷能力과 正直性과는 正的相關이 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 다시말하면 道德性 判斷能力(이것은 앞서도 지적한 바와같이 道德性 發達水準을 알아 보는 것으로 대치하고 있음)과 正直性 檢査 중 눈감고 곡선걷기 檢査 結果와의 相關은 γ_(b)=.319, 구슬꿰기 檢査 結果와의 相關은 γ_(b)=.375, 그리고 재채점 檢査結果와의 相關은 γ_(b)=.449로서 모두 Ρ＜.01 以上의 意義度를 나타내고 있는 것으로 보아 本 硏究의 主假說을 肯定하고 있다. 이 結果는 Kohlberg가 이미 밝힌 硏究結果와도 一致하는 것이다. 다시말하면 道德的인 判斷能力이 높은 사람일수록 實際의 行動도 正直하다는 解報을 내릴 수 있어서, 判斷能力의 정도가 個人의 正直性을 予測하는 變因임을 示唆하고 있다. 本 硏究의 副次的인 假說1인 道德的 判斷能力과 知能과의 相關은 γ=.246으로서 Ρ<.05水準의 意義度를 나타내고 있으며, 副次的인 假說2인 正直性과 知能과의 相關은 구슬꿰기 檢査와 再授點 檢査(눈감고 곡선걷기 檢査는 제외)에서도 正的으로 有意한 相關이 있는 것으로 보아 正直性과 知能사이에도 正的相關이 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 즉 知能이 높은 사람일수록 道德的 判斷能力도 높을 뿐 아니라, 實際 行動에서도 正直하다는 것이다. 그러나 道德的 判斷能力과 知能과의 相關이 Kohlberg의 硏究에서 γ=.53, 金好鎭의 硏究에서 ρ=.41으로 나온 結果에 비해보면 γ_(b)=.246은 낮은 相關度이지만 道德的 判斷能力과 知能, 그리고 正直性 相互間의 關職與否를 밝히려는 데는 그다지 문제가 되지 않았다. 副次的인 假說3으로 提示된 道德的 判斷能力과 敎師의 學生 個個人의 正直性에 관한 評定 結果와는 γb=.526으로서 Ρ<.001水準의 意義度를 나타내고 있어서 正的相關이 있음이 檢證되었다. 그러나 副次假說4인 學生을 對象으로 한 3種의 正直性 檢査 結果와 敎師의 判斷에 의한 學生들의 正直性 評定結果와는 어느 경우에 있어서나 모두 相關이 없는 것으로 나타났다. 그런데 이러한 結果에 영향을 미친 要因은 敎師들의 判斷이 學生 個個人의 行爲 自□보다는 오히려 認知的인 要素에 의해서 더 많은 영항을 받고 있지 않나 하는 予測을 할 수 있었다. 그 까닭은 道德的 判斷能力과 敎師의 評定 結果와의 正的相關 이외에도 知能과 敦師의 評定 結果 사이에도 γb=.566(Ρ<.001水準)의 正的相關을 發見할 수 있었기 때문이다. 以上의 結果를 綜合하여 보면 道德性의 認知的 判斷能力과 正直性과는 正的相關이 있고, 道德的 判斷能力과 知能, 正直性과 知能사이에도 正的相關이 있다고 볼때, 知的水準이 높은 學生일수록 認知的 判斷도 잘 할 뿐아니라 正直性도 높다는 結論을 얻을 수 있었다. 그러나, 敎師의 判斷과 認知龍力과는 關係가 있었지만 正直性과는 相關이 없었다는 점을 미루어 보면, 學生의 正直性을 알아 보기 위해서는 敎師의 判斷은 별 도움이 되지 못하고 있음을 나타내었다. 本 硏究를 추진해 나가는 과정에서 發見할 수 있었던 問題點은, 正直性의 실제적 行動을 側定할 수 있는 道具開發이 先行되어야 겠다는 것이었다. 本 硏究에서는 正直性 側定을 우선 側定可能한 3種의 道具를 先行硏究者의 方法이나 硏究者 自身의 考案에 의해서 시도해 보았지만 그것이 包括的인 正直性 側定의 道具로서는 미흡한 감이 없지 않았다. 이와 아울러, 本 硏究에서 다룬 正直性은 道德的 行爲의 한 側面에 지나지 않으므로, 앞으로는 正直性은 물론 다양한 道德的 行爲로서, 道德性의 認知的 要素와 行動狀況을 綜合的으로 關聯지어 그의 相關여부를 밝히는 硏究도 期待된다. 만약, 本 硏究의 結果가 示唆하듯이, 道德的 判斷能力이 正直性과 正的相關이 있다면, 道德敎育은 知識이나 德目의 注入이 아닌, 實際生活의 場에서 요구되는 判斷能力, 즉 여러 갈등 狀況에서 判斷하고 行動할 수 있는 能力을 기르는 방향으로 나아가야 할 것이다.
