Black-Africa 假面에 나타난 造形意識에 관한 考察

Abstract

20세기 초부터 많은 예술가들은 原始藝術에 특별한 관심을 갖기 시작했다. 그것은 탐험가들에 의한 發掘과 蒐集으로 더욱 活氣를 띠었으며 그 蒐集된 藝術品들은 그들에게 깊은 感銘을 주었다. 그 후 原始藝術에 대한 많은 硏究가 계속되었다. 그러나 硏究 되어진 原始藝術中에 종종 原始假面은 集中的인 硏究에서 除外되곤 하였다. 本 硏究는 原始假面 특히, Black -Africa假面의 造形性과 造形意識을 考察해 봄으로써 Black -Africa假面의 藝術的 價値를 재인식하고자 한다. 本 硏究의 目的은 Black-Africa假面의 象徵的 意味와 그 表現方法에 대한 全般的인 分析을 통하여 그 造形意識의 特性을 규명하는데 있다. 硏究의 內容은 原始社會에서의 假面의 役割과 그 精神的 其調, 象徵的 意味를 理論的 배경으로 하여, Black -Africa假面의 造形性을 地域과 象徵別로 分類하고 그것을 다시 造形的 形態의 特性에 따라 具體的으로 分析하였다. 硏究의 方法은 文獻과 展示會의 Catalague를 基本道具로 하였고 出土된 地域別로 標集한 Black -Africa假面이 73점, 기타 原始假面이 26점, 現代彫刻이 5점으로 총 104점으로 擇하여 比較硏究 하였다. 硏究의 結果를 종합하면 다음과 같다. 事實的 假面에서는 첫째, 古典的으로 表現된 假面들은 절제된 量感, 매끈한 質感처리, 구리빛 古色으로 우아한 심장형 얼굴을 갖고 있었다. 둘째, Grotesque하게 表現된 假面들은 벌어진 입사이로 드러난 치아, 동물의 뾰족한 뿔이나 치아의 揷入 혹은 효과적인 自然物 附着으로 공포의 분위기를 表現하였다. 세째, 全體的 혹은 部分的으로 과장되게 表現된 假面들은 그 變形에도 불구하고 對稱的 比例관계와 mass의 적절한 조화로 균형을 유지하고 있다. 抽象的 假面에서는, 첫째, 立體的으로 表現된 假面들은 對象의 本質的 이미지와 그 生命力을 단순한 抽象形態로 立體化하였다. 둘째, 幾何學的으로 表現된 假面들은 거의 平面的으로 단순하게 變形된 幾何學的 象徵들이 분명한 比例관계 속에서 세련된 造形美를 보여주고 있다.;癤?any artists were particulary interested in primitive art since early 20 century. It became active more and more through excavation and collection by an explorer, the work of arts which were collected struck a deep impression on them. After that lots of studies on primitive arts had continued. But the primitive mask of which studied primitive arts used to be excluded in a concentrated studies. This study have a new understanding artistic value of Black-Africa masks especially by studying the formative and the formative consciousness of ones in the middle of primitive masks. The purpose of this study lies in analyzing the features in the formative consciousness through the symbolic meaning of the Black-Africa masks, by analyzing on the method of expression. The contents of this study classified the formative of Black-Africa masks according to a region and symbol, through theoric background of the role of mask and the spiritual keynote and symbolic meaning, analyzied it in the concrete again according to the feature of formative form. The method of this study dealed with documents and catalogue of his exihibitions with the basic instrument, Black-Africa masks which were selected according to the region excavated contained 73 works, the primitive mask of the rest contained 26 works, modern sculpture contained 5 works, studied total selected 104 works with comparative. The results of this study is as follows : In a realistic mask, Firstly, the masks which are expressed classically had a heart face elegantly with limited volume, the treat of smooth surface, copper colored antique-looking. Secondly, the masks which are expressed grotesquely had fearful atmosphere with opened teeth through the lips, sharp horn and in sertion of teeth, or effective adhision of natural things. Thirdly, the masks which is expressed exaggeratedly in generally or partly, in spite of transformation, keep the balance with a symmetrical relation of proportion and proper harmony of mass. In a abstract mask, Firstly, the mask which is expressed cubically cubed essential imagination of object and the vitallity with simple abstract form. Secondly, in the masks which are expressed geometrically, geometrical symbols which were transformed to simple place show a refine plastic beauty in the clear relation of proporation.
