韓國 龍뉴 彫刻의 考察

Abstract

佛像을 위시한 여러 가지 敎美術品 중에서도 우리 나라의 鐘은 독특한 양식과 造形美, 理想的인 구조와 高度의 주조술을 갖추고 있어서 '한국종' 이라는 學名으로 세계적인 인정을 받고 있다. 特히 龍 는 音筒과 함께 懸垂機能을 맡을 뿐만 아니라 造形性이 강조된 彫刻作品으로 造形的 性格을 硏究할 必要가 있다. 本 硏究의 目的은 龍에 대한 정신적인 배경과 龍 의 造形的 考察을 통하여, 造形性과 獨創性을 究明하며 이미지를 造形化하는 現代彫刻과의 공통분모를 찾는데 있다. 本 硏究의 內容은 첫째, 龍의 一般性을 파악하고 佛敎의 龍과 한국의 미리(龍) 신앙을 통하여 정신적인 배경을 考祭하였으며, 같은 文化圈의 中國·日本과도 비교연구하였다. 둘째, 任意標集한 實物을 통해 龍 彫刻의 基本 造形을 분류하고 造形要素의 變化와 특징을 분석하였다. 세째, 龍의 象微的인 表現이 時代精神에 의해 擴張되는 造形의 多樣性을 考察하였다. 本 硏究의 方法은 理論的 배경과 硏究方向을 체계화하는 데는 문헌을 基本道具로 理論을 要略하여 論述하는 記述的 方法을 使用했다. 主로 實物을 답사하여 造形考察의 재료로 채택하였고 사진도 이용하였다. 本 硏究의 範圍는 史學的 관점보다 造形的 고찰에 중점을 두어 통일신라에서 朝鮮時代까지의 龍 를 對像으로 하였다. 本 硏究의 결과 韓國龍 는 古有의 龍神思想과 佛敎의 龍숭배정신이 强하게 투영된 作品으로 中國이나 日本鐘의 古定된 龍頭와는 달리 造形의 多樣性을 갖고 있다. 그 중에서도 좌우비대칭의 역동적인 구조로 이루어진 단용형식의 운동감과 공간감은 독특하지만 모든 유형에 공통적인 것은 아니며, 各 類型은 서로 다른 造形要素로서 강조되어 個個의 특성을 지니고 있었다. 造形分析의 결과 基本造形을 여덟가지로 분류하였는데 古有한 單龍形式과 함께 外來的 감각이 受容된 雙龍形式도 包含하였다. 基本造形의 分類를 통하여 造形性을 考察한 결과 獨自性, 象徵性, 創意性, 機能性, 時代性이 發見되었다. 이것을 普遍性과 特殊性으로 分析한 결과 龍 조각이 갖는 象徵과 機能의 普遍性 料에도 獨自性, 刻意性, 時代性이 表現된 한국종의 龍 彫刻은 獨創的임을 究明하였다.;In the fields of Buddhist Art including Buddhist Images, the Korean Bell is enjoying her own scientific name in the world for her unique and creative style, molding beauties, ideal structures and wax process casting. Especially her Dragon shaped ring part (Head of Bell) is more emphasized with molding beauties with her unique Tone Tube than weighing function, so far it is worthy to study not only in view of Applied Art but also in pure Art. The purpose of the study is atressed on the molding beauties and creative style of Dragon shaped ring part on Korean Bell by examining spiritual background of oriental dragon and molding analysis, and it is also intended to derive common feeling from both of the old and modern images into molding. The contents of study consist of; A. Attempted to understand the general conception, forms and spiritual background by looking over the Dragon of Buddhist and Korean traditional faith in Dragon, and they are compared with those of Chinese and Japanese which are in the same cultural zone. B. Classified basic forms of the Dragon sculptures of Ring part (Head part) on Korean Bell, and examined the characteristic changes of molding factors by the times through surveying optionally collected real works. C. Examined the Varieties of Symbolic expressions by the times in the molding. For the methodology, descriptive method was used to systematically organize the theory of the Dragon sculptures on Ring part of Korean Bell by the means of literature research, a number of real works and pictures from a related sources. The survey was focused more to the molding beauties than to the historical view, which was ranged from Unified Shilla to Yi Dynasty. As a result of the study, the Dragon sculptures on ring part of Korean Bell are presenting varieties of molding and strongly expressing the Korean traditional faith in Dragon which was combined with the thoughts of Dragon respect in Buddhism. It is contrasted with the simple and fixed form of those on Chinese and Japanese bell. In conclusion of investigation, Basic forms of the Dragon sculptures on Ring part of Korean Bell are classified into 8 types, which are including native single Dragon types to two dragon types which were influenced from Chinese. They are also proved to be representing unique, creative, symbolic in faith, functional in weigh and characteristics of the times. They are resulted in unique and creative works in both view of Universality and speciality.
