도시환경에 있어서 준공공공간(Semi-Public Space)의 이해와 디자인 모형 제시에 관한 연구

Abstract

인간은 환경으로부터 이미지를 전달 받는다. 어떤 대상이나 환경이 인간에게 이미지로써 메세지를 전달한다면 그것은 하나의 예술로 간주될 수 있다. 환경디자인은 결코 결정론적인 것은 아니며, 인공 환경의 변수를 조절하여 새로운 상징을 창조하는 예술적 행위이다. 이로써 환경은 이미지를 갖게 되고 인간 행위와 미적 경험을 지원해주게 된다. 점차 고밀화, 고층화 되어 가는 현대의 도시 환경은 인간을 위한 공간이기 보다는 자동차와 같은 인간 삶의 수단을 위한 공간이 되어 그 이미지를 상실하게 되었다. 따라서 도시 생활인에게 정서적인 만족을 주는 준공공공간(準公共空間)의 중요성은 강조되며, 이러한 인식 위에 이루어지는 창조로서의 준공공공간 디자인은 도시에 활기를 불어 넣어 이미지를 갖게 한다는 측면에서 그 의의를 찾아볼 수 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 이해를 바탕으로 한 미래를 향한 발전적 모형 사례를 제시하는 디자인 방출의 연구이며, 다음과 같은 방법과 과정으로 연구를 진행하였다. 1. 준공공공간의 이해를 돕기 위해 개념 및 특성을 살펴보았다. - 이로써 준공공공간이 도시의 이미지를 결정하는 요소임을 밝혀 연구의 대상 선정에 대한 타당성을 제시하였다. 2. 도시 환경에 있어서 준공공공간의 역할을 강조하고, 우리의 준공공공간의 현황을 관찰, 분석하였다. - 이것은 현실적으로 그 개선이 반드시 필요함을 설명하여 그에 대한 발전적 대안이 요구됨을 말해 준다. 3. 디자인 제시를 위하여 행태학적, 생태학적, 현상학적 접근에 의한 디자인 방법론을 택하였다. - 방법론은 디자인 결정에 있어 불확실성을 최소화 시키려는 디자이너의 과정적 태도이다. 4. 인간-도시 환경의 상호 연관성을 사고의 축으로 하고, 앞서 제시된 정보를 수용하는 준공공공간을 디자인 모형 사례로써 제시하였다. - 디자인의 전과정은 제시된 디자인 방법론을 기준으로 하며, 다음과 같은 단계를 밟았다. · 문제의 이해에 따른 환경적 요구도 분석 · 문제의 해결안 제시 · 문제의 해결안 평가 · Feedback을 통한 문제의 또다른 해결안 제시 · 최종안에 대한 종합 및 평가 연구 결과 디자인의 궁극적 목적이 「인간을 위한」 디자인임을 재인식할 수 있었고, 미래의 인간의 새로운 문화와 가치를 정립시키는 환경디자인에 있어서 인간의 문제를 중심으로 하는 연구 방법의 필요성을 강조함에 연구의 의의를 둔다.;Environment, conveys images to man. An object or environment, if giving the message of an image to man, would be considered as an art. Environmental design is never a deterministic one but an artistic activity of creating a new symbol by adjusting variables of built environment. It affords images to environment so that environment can support human activities and aesthetic experiences. City environment of today, gradually high-densified and high-storied, and more a space for means for life such as cars than a space for man himself, has lost its images. So, the importance of Semi-Public Space (SPS), giving emotional satisfaction to city dwellers, should be emphasized, and the design of SPS as a creation derived from these understandings has significance in its vitalizing a city and giving images to a city. This is a study of design method providing a progressive model for future, and is performed wi th these methods and steps. 1. For better understanding of SPS, concepts and characteristics of SPS are considered. - This clarifies that SPS is an element determining the image of a city, and provides properties in determining the subject. 2. The role of SPS in city environment is emphasized, and our situation of SPS is reflected and analyzed. This reveals that the improvement of SPS is inevitable and progressive alternatives are needed. 3. For providing design, the design methodology using ecological, of behavioral science and phenomenological approaches is adopted. - Methodology is designer's attitude in the design process for minimizing the uncertainty in determining design. 4. Mutual relationship between man and city-environment is used as a main idea, and SPS adopting provided informations is suggested as a model design. - Provided methodology is used as a basis for all steps of design and following steps are performed. · Analysis of environmental requirements following theunderstanding of problem · Suggestion of solution · Evaluation of solution · Suggestion of another solution by feedback · Summary and evaluation of final solution This study provides recognition that the ultimate object of design is the design 「for human」. And it has its significance in emphasizing the need of method based on human in environmental design.
