놀이 조형물에 관한 연구

Abstract

미술의 사회참여 측면과 도시환경개선의 차원에서 활발하게 진행되고 있는 환경조각의 조형적 측면을 어린이들을 위한 놀이조형물로 실현시킨다는 것은 놀이환경의 질적개선을 위해 의의 있는 일이라 할 수 있다. 공공예술품이 다수의 관람객을 확보하고 대중의 생활속에서 널리 애용는점을 감안할때 국내에서는 도입시기나 방법에 있어 조형물 본래 역할을 충분히 발휘하지 뭇하고 있는 실정이다. 특히 환경에 지대한 영향을 받고 자라는 어린이들의 활동장소인 놀이공간은 극히 열악하여 문화환경조성 차원에서 우선시되어야 할 곳이다. 이러한 맥락에서 출발한 본 연구의 목적은 획일적이고 무미건조한 어린이 놀이시설물 개선을 위한 방안으로 공공조형물의 한 유형인 놀이조형물의 특성을 고찰하여 심미적이고 창의적인 놀이조형물의 표현방법을 모색하는데 있다. 연구의 내용은 놀이조형물의 특성을 규명하기 위하여 기능적측면과 조형적측면을 분류하여 살펴보았으며 놀이조형물의 현황파악을 위해서는 1960년대 이후 설치되어 이용되고 있는 국내 국외 놀이조형물중 그 특성이 적절히 표현된 총60점을 목적표출하여 구상, 비구상, 놀이성이 가미된 환경조각으로 나누어 살펴보았다. 연구의 방법은 문헌, 작품을 기본도구로 하였으며 놀이조형물 표현을 위해서는 놀이조형물의 특성을 기능성과 조형성으로 분류하여 기능적측면에서는 안전성, 장소성, 기능성을 살펴보았고 조형적 측면에서는 형태, 색채, 질감, 재료를 중심으로 살펴 보았다. 놀이조형물의 표현방법은 산이나 물결에서 보여지는 자연의 시각적 형상을 직선과 부드러운 곡선으로 변형하여 표상화하였으며 표현된 작품은 이론적배경에서 고찰한 놀이조형물의 기능적특성과 조형적 특성을 토대로 분석하였다. 놀이조형물의 특성을 고찰하여 그 표현방법을 모색한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 놀이조형물의 주요기능은 미끄럼기능으로 표현방법에 따라 다양한 형태로 제작되었으며 작품의 특성에 따라 미끄럼 표면은 부드러운 질감으로 표현되었고 미끄럼대의 난간은 작품의 특성에 따라 조형적으로 설치하였다. 둘째, 형태는 자연요소증 산과 물결의 시각적 형상을 단순화시켰으며 이것은 직선과 부드러운 곡선의 혼합형태로 표현되었다. 셋째, 색채는 원색의 화려한 색상을 배제하고 주위환경과 시각적, 심미적 조화를 이룰 수 있도록 밝고 차분한 색상으로 표현하였다. 넷째, 기능성과 조형성을 고려한 놀이조형물의 연구는 비개성적이고 획일화된 놀이공간을 창의적이고 심미적인 공간으로 승화시킴으로서 새로운 놀이공간을 창출하게되고 놀이환경의 질을 개선하려는데 있다. 이것은 "미술개념의 확장" 또는 "미술과 삶의 결합"이라는 측면을 적극적으로 수용한 것으로 예술의 사회참여를 놀이조형물로 실현하는데 그 의의가 있다.;It is meaningful to realize the sculptural aspects of environmental sculptures, which are actively progressing for the inprovements of urban environment and for the involvement of are in society, as playing sculptures for the qualititive inprovements of playing environments for children. Taking into account that the public art worts has many audiences and is widely reed in the lives of public the domestic sculptures would not be fully demonstrated its main functions because of its exhibition methods and it introduction time Especial1y, the playgrounds where the main activities are happening for children who grow up under the influence of their environment are very bad in it conditions and it must have priorit to inprove for cultural environments. Based upon the above ideas, this study has the purpose of finding ways for the expression methods of aethestic and creative playing sculptures to improve the playing facilitles for children, which are now uniform and tasteless, by examining the characteristics of playing sculptures as a type of public sculptures. The study examined the fuctional aspects and sculptural aspects to reveal the characteristics of playing sculptures and sample targeted total 60 playing sculputures that properly expressed the characteristics of playing sculptures among domestic and foreign ones which were installed and used since 1960. It studied the environmental sculptures with substantial, abstract and playing characteristics among those sample targeted sculptures. Documents, art works were th basic tools for the study. It divided the characteristics of the playing sculptures into fuctional aspects and sculptural aspects for the expressions o the playing sculptures. Safety, location and function were examined for the functional aspects of the playing sculptures and structure, coloration, tone and material were examined for the sculptural aspects. The expression method for the playing sculptures were manifested by the transformation of natural visual images of mountains and waves into straight lines and smooth curves. These expressed works were analyzed based on playing sculpures, functional aspects and sculptural aspects. The results of the study of espression methods by the examination of the characteristics of playing sculptures are following: First the main functions of the playing sculptures ate sliding. These sliding functions were made in various forms under its expression methods. The surface of the sliding area was expressed in smooth tone an has sculptural ralls in accordance to the characteristics of the works for safety. second, the visual images of mountains and waves among natural factors were simplified in its forms and these forms were made in ruined forms of straight lines and smooth curves. Third, basic and colourful colours were excluded and bright and subdued colours were used to harmonize the environments in visual aethestical ways. Forth, the playing sculputres that has functional and sculputral aspects improves the qualities of the playing environments and creates new playing environment by sublimination of noncharacteristic and uniform playgrounds into the new aethestics grounds. Thes is active adoption of "Expansion of Artistic Concept" or " Union of Arts and Life" and it has the meaning to realize the involvement of arts through the playing sculptures.
