사진매체를 이용한 일정한 이미지의 표현

Abstract

Modern society is an era of media culture where the visual image is recognized through photography, television, videos and other various publications. These media cultures have influence the fine arts field where today's artists , more than ever before , necessitate the advanced knowledge of the current culture and the usage of diverse media. Since the invention of the photography in 1839, photography has gone through conflicts and confrontation with the paintings presenting much influence to each other. Photography ,since its initial invention till the current days , has gone through developmental process of 150 years where now its significance and role cannot be excluded when you discuss about modern arts. Modern artists like to use the photography frequently because the role of photography is very important today and the photography is appropriate to reflect the reality of modern culture. Complex style of painting and photography is a conversion phenomenon of a horizontal structure, not vertical of today's postmodernism arts which speak for pluralism As I carry out my task , there is a great meaning of photography having a precise expression which painting cannot provide and as a media , creating a new visual effect as way of expressing the painting. However ,despite using mechanical method of photographic images, the overall task does not exclude the basic painting concepts ,where two contrasting fields have been combined into one screen. This pieces has started from a foundations of an extremely personal and subjective interest which rediscovered the formative attribute of general images from painting through the expression media of photography. Also, it has included the analysis of comparing my work of creating a new visual method with artists having similar tendencies. Finally, as I analysed the works of mine , I thought that I have to harmonize the technical and visual aspects of works with the meaning inside them.;현대 사회는 갖가지 시각 이미지들이 사진이나 T.V. 비디오, 각종 출판물 등의 매체들을 통해 각인 되어지는 매체 문화의 시대이다. 이러한 매체 문화는 순수 예술 분야에도 그 영향을 미쳐서 오늘날의 예술가들은 다론 어느 시기 보다도 동 시대의 문화와 여러 가지 매체들의 사용에 대한 고도의 지식을 요한다. 1839년 사진술이 발명된 이후 사진은 회화와 함께 갈등과 대립을 거듭 하면서 서로에게 많은 영향을 끼쳐왔다. 사진은 발명 직후부터 현재에 이르기까지의 150여년 동안 발전을 거듭하여 이제는 현대 미술을 논할 때 사진을 언급하지 않고서는 이야기가 불가능할 정도로 중요하게 다루어지고 있다. 현대 미술가들이 회화 작품에 사진을 즐겨 사용하는 이러한 양상은 오늘날을 살아가는데 있어 사진의 역할이 매우 크며 현대 문명의 리얼리티를 반영하기에 사진은 가장 적합한 매체로 여겨지기 때문일 것이다. 또한 회화와 사진의 복합적인 스타일은 다원주의로 대변되는 오늘날의 포스트 모더니즘 미술의 수직적 위계질서가 아닌 수평적으로 다양한 매체간의 수렴 현상으로 볼 수도 있을 것이다. 본인이 작업을 하는데 있어서 사진은 회화가 따라갈 수 없는 명확한 표현력과 새로운 시각 효과를 창조하는 매체라는 점에서 회화상의 표현 수단으로서 의미가 매우 크다. 그러나 이와 같이 기계적 수단을 통한 사진 이미지를 사용하면서도 전반적연 작업의 형식은 전통적 개념의 회화적 요소를 배제하지 않고 있으며 이러한 것은 하나의 화면 위에서 두 가지의 이질적인 쟝르의 결합을 이루게 하였다. 본 논문에서는 지극히 개인적이고 주관적인 관심에서 출발한 일상적 이미지들을 사진이라는 표현매체를 통하여 그 조형성들을 회화상에서 재발견하고 보다 새로운 시각 형식을 창조하고자 하는 본인의 작품을 비슷한 경향을 보이는 몇몇 작가들과 비교하면서 분석하고자 하였다. 끝으로 본인의 작품을 연구 하면서 여러가지 기술적인 방법이나 조형적인 면만을 지나치게 고려하여 자칫 작품의 내용적인 면이 소홀해짐이 없도록 앞으로는 두 가지가 조화를 이루어 보다 진지한 작업태토로 임해야 겠다는 반성을 해본다.
