아동의 사회적 능력과 관련된 제 변인에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 논문에서는 아동의 성별, 형제자매 유무, 사회계층, 그리고 어머니의 양육행동이 아동의 사회적 능력에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 파악하고자 하였다. 연구 대상은 서울에 거주하는 만 5,6세 아동 282명과 그들의 어머니 그리고 유치원 교사였다. 측정 도구는 어머니의 양육행동을 측정하기 위해서 IPBI:Mother form을 번역, 수정하여 사용하였고, 아동의 사회적 능력을 평가하기 위해서는 ISCSP〕를 번역, 수정하여 어머니용 질문지로 사용하였으며, 이를 교사용에 적절하도록 수정하여 교사용 질문지로 사용하였다. 수집된 자료의 분석을 위해 t검증, 일원변량분석, Duncan's Multiple Range Test, 상관관계 분석, 중다회귀분석을 하였으며, 신뢰도 검증을 위해 Cronbach's α값을 산출하였다. 주요 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 1. 어머니에 의한 아동의 사회적 능력 평가와 교사에 의한 사회적 능력 평가에는 유의한 차이가 있었는데 어머니가 교사보다 전반적으로 아동의 사회적 능력에 대해 높게 평가하고 있었고, 교사는 협조성 요인에서만 어머니보다 아동의 사회적 능력을 높게 평가하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 2. 아동의 사회적 능력은 사회계층, 아동의 성별에 따라 유의한 차이가 나타났는데 사회계층이 높을수록 아동의 사회적 활동성이 높게 나타났고, 여아보다 남아에게서 비협조성이, 남아보다 여아에게서 협조성이 높게 나타났으며, 형제자매 유무에 따라서는 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 3. 아동의 사회적 능력에 영향을 미치는 여러 변인중 어머니의 규제와 합리적 지도가 가장 영향력이 큰 변인으로 나타났는데, 어머니가 자녀를 합리적으로 지도할수록, 자녀의 생활에 적절한 제한을 주고 이를 일관성 있게 지켜나갈수록 아동의 긍정적인 사회적 능력은 높은 것으로 나타났다.;The purpose of this study was to examine how and to what extent children's sex, the presence of their sibling, social class and maternal child-rearing behavior factors affect children's social competence factors. The subject of this study were 282 children aged 5 to 6, their mothers and their kindergarden teachers in Seoul. IPBT : Mother form ISCS[P] were used to measure maternal child-rearing behavior and children's social competence respectly. For data analysis, t-test, F-test, pearson's r, multiple regression and Cronbach's α for reliability were performed. The major findings were as follows; 1. There were significant differences in mother's rating and teacher's rating on children's social competence. In general, mother's rating on their child's social competence were higher than those of teachers. But teacher's rating were higher on 'cooperative' factor of children's social competence than those of mothers. 2. There were significant differences according to social class. Children's sex in children's social competence: The higher social class was, the higher scores were in 'social activator' factor of children's social competence. Boys got higher scores in 'uncooperative' factor than girls, girls got higher scores in 'cooperative' factor than boys. There were no significant differences between only children and sibling children in children's social competence. 3. Maternal use of 'reasoning guidance' and 'limit setting' was the best variable with which to predict children's social competence; Children whose mothers use reasoning guidance and set the limit are more socially competent.
