長생의 造型性 考察

Abstract

옛 우리 祖上의 心性과 神聖을 함은 장생은 近代化의 물결과 70年代의 迷信이라는 美名下에 그 모습을 차츰 감추게 되였다. 장생의 信仰體系와 社會的 意味는 時代와 社會의 변모로 그 當時의 神聖感情 투영 모습은 잃었으나, 우리 民族에 연연히 흐르는 源泉을 찾아서 새롭게 달라지는 우리 주변의 民間生活에 再解釋을 要求하게 되었다. 그러므로 近來에 와서 대두되는 基屬文化의 새로운 認識으로 말미암아 民衆의 意識과 사고를 그리고 그들의 행위를 糾明하는 傳承民俗財에 많은 관심이 쏠려 있는 형편이다. 그러나 現化 民俗學이 여러 方面에서 활발히 硏究함에도 불구하고 아직껏 장생에 대하여 造形的으로는 硏究가 미비한 상태이다. 장생에 表現된 독특한 造形 形式이 民衆의 集團意識體的 形熊를 빌려 우리民族의 독특한 創意的 造形性이 잘 반영되고 있는 이런 視點에서 장생을 단지 過去의 造形에만 그치지 않고 現代的 造形感覺과 어떤 관계를 지니고 있는지를 살펴보고자 한다. 本 硏究의 目的은 장생을 造形的으로 分析하고 장생의 造形性이 現代的 彫刻과 어떤 관계를 가지고 있는가를 糾明함이 그 目的이다. 硏究內容은 장생의 形成에서 民間信仰的, 社會民俗學的인 두 側面에서 理論的 背景을 고찰하고 造形性에서 장생의 樣式과 造彩的 分析을 內容으로 하였다. 硏究方法은 文獻硏究와 現地踏査 硏究를 中心으로 比較 分析하였다. 表集方法에서 比較分析된 作品의 選定은 地域別로 造形性이 比較的 뚜렷하여 造形特性을 밝히기에 容易한 作品과 保存이 잘된 作品을 擇하여 有意表集하였다. 硏究 結果로는 장생은 媒介와 表現活動의 調和, 製作方法에서 보여주는 集團體的 共同制作, 대담한 變彩에서 보여주는 省略과 强調의 처리 技法 象徵的이고 紀念碑的인 環境 彫刻的 性格을 보여줌으로 現代彫刻과 密接한 관계가 있는것으로 본다.;Changsung represents the human nature and holiness of our ancestor. It has been disappeared nowdays under the name of modernization and superstition. As time passes, the belief system and its social meanings expressed by Changsung have been changed. Namely, it lost the empathic characteristics of holiness. However, studying our nation's original feature, we should reaffirm its meanings and characteristics in our chansing environment. Recently we recognize our culture in modern sense. So we are interested in falkart through which we know the consciousness and deed of our peoples. Though experts on folklore have studied the characteristics of Changsung in many aspects, they have hardly studied its characteristics of plastic. If we study its characteristics of plastic, especially the collaborative efforts in making changsung, we can easily find out the creative power of our nation. Considered in this light, I intend to search for a relationship between its native characteristics and modern sense of plastic. The purpose of this study is to analyze the characteristics of plastic and its relationship with that of modern sculpture. The content of this paper is to examine the Theoretical background in making Changsung in two point of views: human religion and folklore perspective. And I also intend to analyze its plastic characteristics. The methods of approach used in this paper is comparative one on the basis of literature and on-the-spot survey. I carefully choose Changsung which has regional and peculiar characteristics of plastic and preserves the original form relatively. As a result I can find out close relationship between its characteristics and that of modern sculpture in that Changsung has such characteristics : The harmony of makers and their power of expression. The collaboration in making Changsung. The skillful abridge and emphasis by the bold transformation. Symbolic and monumental characteristics of Changsung.
