新羅土偶에 나타난 象徵性에 관한 연구

Abstract

土偶는 흙으로 만든 人形이란 뜻이며 이것은 사람의 형상을 갖춘 것만이 아니라 바른 여러가지 동물이나 생활용구, 가옥 등을 포함하고 있다. 신라 토우는 佛敎 傳來 이전의 토속적인 원시 신앙을 반영하고 있으며 이것은 그들이 기원하는 바를 성취 하고자 하는 주술적인 성격을 갖거나 죽음에 대한 생의 영속성을 기원하는 것을 내용으로 하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 신라 토우에 나타난 상징성을 규명하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용으로 Ⅱ장에서는 신라 토우에 나타난 원시신앙과 상징성을 고찰하였으며 Ⅲ장에서는 신라토우의 성격과 시대적인 분류를 하였다. Ⅳ장에서는 신라 토우에 나타난 상징성을 순수 토우와 도기에 장식된 토우를 중심으로 내용적 측면과 조형적 측면으로 나누어 연구하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 신라 토우에 관한 연구 문헌과 상징성에 관련된 신라 토우를 유의 표집하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 내용적인 면에서 첫째, 신라 토우는 생산력을 상징하는 사물의 이미지를 통해서 多産과 豊饒를 상징 하며, 둘째, 신라 토우는 운반이나 수송을 상징하는 사물의 이미지를 통해서 죽음에 대한 생의 영속성을 상징한다. 조형적인 측면에서 신라 토우는 그들이 나타내고자 하는 상징을 위하여 공간, 양감, 운동, 질감의 표현에서 세부적인것을 생략하는 왜곡된 형태로 나타난다. 이러한 왜곡된 형상을 통하여 신라 토우는 인간의 원초적 생명의 감정을 전달하고 있다.;The clay doll of silla dynasty represents the figures of various animals, utensils, houses as well as that human beings. The clay doll of silla dynasty reflects the primitive folk religion that existed before the introduction of Buddhism into the dynasty. The clay dolls of silla dynasty are characterized by superstitious nature in the sense that they represent the human desire to accomplish various wishes, which also includ the aspiration for the Immortality. The purpose of this study lies in revealing the symbolism. In chapter Ⅱ, the primitive folk religion and symbolism of the clay doll are studied. In chapter Ⅲ, the character of the clay doll is chronically classified. In chapter Ⅳ, the symbolism of the clay doll of silla dynasty is studied with regard to the content and plastic significance centering on the ordinary clay dolls and the clay dolls for decoration earthenwares. The basic method of this study I adopted the analysis of the carefully selected clay dolls of silla dynasty and the research papers concerned. As a conclusion of this study considering the content, I hereby summerize the character of the clay doll of silla dynasty as follows ; First, the clay doll symbolizes the fertility and abundance through the image of things that symbolize the productivity. Second, the clay doll symbolizes the immortality of human life through the image of things that symbolize the transportation. Considering plastic form, the clay doll of silla dynasty takes distorted form in order to emphasize the symbolism by omitting the details in the representation of space, volume, dynamism, matiere, Through these distorted forms, the primitive feeling about life is vividly expressed in the clay dolls of stlla dynasty.
