담 문양을 중심으로 한 자수의 조형적 효과에 관한 연구

Abstract

어느 민족이나 국가이든 그들 고유의 문화가 있고 그 고유의 정신과 문화는 기후, 풍토, 시대성, 정치상황등에 의해서 그 민족의 전통적인 미술문화를 형성하게 된다. 그것은 인간이 가장 평범하게 소망하는 부귀, 수복, 다남등 일상적이고 본질적인 수복벽사의 신앙적 염원에서 나타난 것이라고 할 수 있다. 전통미술의 성격은 민족이 공유하는 생활감정, 가치관의 소산으로 미의식의 산물이며 인간의 본능인 조형의식에서 표출된 것이라 여겨진다. 담은 자연과의 조화뿐 아니라 구조적 용도를 위한 조성 및 구성, 자연과의 대응과 조화, 그리고 궁극적인 심미감을 만족시키기 위한 미의 표현등 기본 조건을 구비해야 하는 조형미술이라 여겨진다. 본 연구는 건축물의 한 부분인 담의 역사와 배경, 한국인의 의식속에 담겨 있는 담의 전통 문양을 조형적으로 재구성하여 담을 통해 전통성과 조형성을 현대 추상 구도안에서 재현한 자수 작품으로 새로운 감각을 표출해 보고자 한다. 담의 기원과 특징을 살펴보고 대상의 부분적 재현과 추상기법의 혼합으로 제작 과정을 통해 사물의 이념과 본질을 찾아 대상의 이미지를 형상화 시키려고 한다. 이런 과정을 통해 전통 문양의 조형적 가치의 발견과 전통 문양을 현대의 순수한 예술작품으로 제작하여 무한한 가능성을 새로이 하는데 도움이 되고자 한다.;Every nation or country has its own culture and spirit, which form the nation's traditional art based on the climate, times, and political situation. Art may represent here what ordinary human beings are looking for-the wealth and honors, longevity and happiness, and having many sons-gen-erated from the religious belief concerning of life and death. The characteristics of traditional art are regarded as the product of art consciousness and the fruit of life style and sense of value originated by formative arts of human nature. As far as I am concerned, the wall should be formative arts equipped with many basic conditions, such as the combination with the nature, the structure for the organizational use, and ultimately the expression of beauty for the estheticism. This paper concentrated on the history and background of the wall as a part of architecture and tried to reproduce its traditional design on the view of moulding way to express the new style of embriodery work under the modern abstract idea. I researched the origin and characteristics of the wall and tried to find the way to're-enact it matching with a same concept of abstractionism. Finally, I would illustrate the image of the wall finding its ideology and true - nature through this process. I really had a hard time to describe the formative value of traditional design as a pure art work of today. It would be my great honor if I could contribute to suggest another possibility in art circles.
