現代彫刻과 色彩에 관한 硏究

Abstract

새로운 재료의 발견이 예술가의 시각과 감정에 새로운 길을 열어주며, 시대에 따른 건전하고 순수한 예술형식의 개발이 요구된다. 특히, 색채는 재료의 感覺的 質을 형성하는 요인으로서, 더욱 중요한 과제이며, 그 표현과 방법이 조형효과에 미치는 영향은 지대하므로, 그에 대한 연구는 필요하다. 본 연구의 목적은 현대조각에 있어서, 색채의 표현의도와 색채의 기능에 따른 표현특성을 實證하는데 있다. 본 연구의 대상은 20세기를 제 2차 세계대전에서 기점으로 전기 후기로 구분하며. 각각 그 시대를 대표하는 유파와 대표작가의 작품 24점을 層代標出하여 색채표현의 시각적 효과를 분석 하였다. 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 전기는 전통적인 재료에 부분적으로 채색하여, 재료의 소재감이 유지되고, 多色과 함께 작품의 조형성과 제작이념을 강조하였다. 그러나 후기에는 새로운 기법과 재료추구를 통한 조형의식의 확대속에 전체적으로 채색되고, 재료의 素材感이 배제되어 비물질화 되었다. 강한 원색에 단색으로 기계적인 방법에 의해 채색되어 순수한 시각성이 강조되었다. 이와같이 현대조각에서의 색채는 재료의 자율성과 새로운 기법에 따른 조형의식의 확대속에서 형태현상에 작용함으로 새로운 표현효과가 출현되고 있다.;The discovery of new materials opens new areas for the eye and feeling of the artist and necessitates the development of artistically sound and pure forms proper for the age. Since color especially turns out to be a study of such importance as a factor determining the sensuous qualities of the material, the purpose and method of coloring, along with the effect of the color, in the sculptor-formation require more research. This thesis illustrate the purpose of coloring and its expressive feature in modern sculpture. This research divides the twentieth century into two periods, pre -and post - 1945 and analyzes the visual effect of the coloring during these periods by stratification sampling of 24 works of the representative sculptors of the two periods. The result of the research is as follows: In the pre-1945 period, traditional materials were partially colored, and the form and idea of the works were emphasized through multiple coloring supported by the characteristics of the materials. In the post-1945 period, total coloring was preferred in conjunction with the growth of formative consciousness which developed through the artist's search for new techniques and materials. The works of this later period exhibited the deprivation of the characteristics of the materials in order to achieve the effect of dematerialization. Finally, the purely visual aspect was emphasized, due to the mechanical method of using a Tingle primary color in a given piece of sculpture rather than multiple colors. The color in modern sculpture has influenced the form, along with the autonomy of materials and the enlargement of new techniques, to make new effects of expression appear.
