Abstract
Artists have given shapes to their mind images of aesthetic subconsciousness according to their subjective views to express the figure of mother and son variously. The reason why the image of mothernal love was chosen among the various modes of love was because it has been thought, such a hind of love that does not alter when alterations are found under the changing circumstances or value systems of the times. The purpose of the study lies in studying a formative expression of the nature of softness, toughness and unity among the images of mothernal love internalized in the figure of mother and son. For this, the history of the art of the image of mothers and son and the process of transformations of the work were inquired into and analyzed. As for the method of study, literary research and work-making were conducted in paralledl . 44 major artpieces were purposefully sampled as the suggestive works considering their formativenesses, and, for work-making, 7 artpieces that metamorphosed human body in order to concretize the image of mothernal love were analyzed from the formative viewpoints of the senses of movement, quantity, space and quality. The results of study are as fellows: First, the image of softness was expressed into a dynamic structure of curved faces, a sense of abundant quantity and polished surfaces ; the toughness was represented into the pose of a mother who keeps her child, senses of weight and solidity, quality sense effects, and strict faces to form a sense of tension, showing a contrast to the soft image. Second, the banding power between mother and son which was formed by body metamorphosis has expressed into spirality in its horizontal and vertical structure and streams of faces to form a positive power extending the spatial field, and the sense of varity and completeness of mother and son was represented by the senses of movement space, quantity and quality;지금까지 예술가들은 작가의 주관에 따라 자신의 잠재된 미의식의 심상을 조형화하여 母子像을 다양하게 표현해 왔다. 시대의 흐름과 변화에 따라 환경과 가치기준이 달라져도 母性愛는 변화하지 않으므로 많은 사랑의 유형중에서 母性愛의 image를 선택하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 母子像에 내재된 母性愛의 Image중에서 부드러움과 강인함, 母子의 결속력에 관한 조형적 표현을 연구하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 母子像의 美術史的 考察과 작품변형 과정 및 분석을 하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 문헌자료와 작품제작을 병행하였다. 예시작품은 각 시대의 주요작품 44점을 조형성을 고려하여 目的表出하였고, 작품제작은 母性愛의 image를 구체화하기 위하여 인체를 변형시킨 작품 7점을 운동감, 양감, 공간감, 질감의 조형적 관점에서 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 母子像에 내재된 母性愛의 image중에서 부드러움은 곡면의 동적구조와 풍부한 양감, 표면의 연마로 표현하였고, 강인함은 어머니가 아이를 보호하는 Pose와 작품의 중량감, 견고함, 질감효과, 직면으로 나타내 긴장감을 형성하며, 부드러움과 대비를 나타내었다. 둘째, 인체변형으로 형성된 母子의 결속력은 수평, 수직구도와 면의 흐름을 나선형으로 표현하여 공간의 영역을 확장하는 양괴를 형성하였고, 운동감, 공간감, 양감, 질감에 의하여 母子의 일체감과 완결성을 나타내었다.
