Jean Tinguely에 彫刻에 있어서 관객참여의 要因과 造形效果에 관한 연구

Abstract

기계를 통해 기계를 풍자한 J. Tinguely는 기술로 인해 자연에서 소외된 인간을 그의 기계 속으로 참여시켰다. 그는 기계를 초월하기 위해 운동을 사용하였고, 그 운동은 변화를 낳았다. 그 변화과정을 통해 J. Tinguely는 관객에게 humor와 Irony를 전달한다. 본 연구의 목적은 J. Tinguely조각에 있어서 관객참여의 요인과 조형효과를 분석함에 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 Kinetic Art와 Nouveau-Re´alisme을 배경으로 하여 J. Tinguely조각의 형성을 알아보았고, Kinetic Artists의 관객참여를 시도한 작품을 고찰하였으며, J. Tinguely조각의 일반적인 특성을 분류하여 그 특성 중 관객참여를 중심으로 그 원인요인과 조형효과를 분석하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 문헌과 작품을 기본자료로 하였으며 문헌은 J. Tinguely조각에 있어서 관객참여의 요인을 분석하였고, 작품표집은 J. Tinguely작품 중 관객참여의 특성이 표현된 작품 22점을 목적표출 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. J. Tinguely조각에 있어서 관객참여의 원인요인은 그가 말하는 바 "인생은 유희이고 운동이며 변화의 연속이다."라는 그의 조형이념을 구체화시키기 위한 것이다. 첫째, J. Tinguely는 예술의 외적형식을 과격하게 경멸했을 뿐만 아니라 예술에서 단지 승화된 의미를 놀이에 부여하기 위함이다. 둘째, 관객들로 하여금 실제 움직임을 경험하게 하여 무용각본에서의 운동언어 처럼 관객 자신의 인생표현으로 이해하게 함에 있다. 세째, 관객에 의한 우연의 도입으로 관객과 시간과 공간을 하나의 동반자로서 함께 변화시키고자 함에 있다. 이에 따른 조형효과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 관객들은 운동을 직접 체험함으로써 운동유희공간을 형성하며 이것은 작품과 관객사이의 거리감을 해소하였다. 둘째, 관객은 時·空의 변화를 함께 하는 동반자로서 작품과 총합 공간을 형성한다.;J. Tinguely who satirized 'the machine' by 'the machine' made the spectator who is alienated from the nature on account of the development of technology, participate into 'the machine'. He used the movement to transcend the machine and the change came out of the movement. Through the changing process, J. Tinguely carries the humor and the irony to the spectator. The purpose of the thesis is to analyze the elements of the spectator-involvement and the formative effect expressed in J. Tinguely's sculpture. In this thesis, the formation of J. Tinguely's sculpture was studied on the basis of Kinetic Art and Nouveau-Re´alisme, and Kinetic Artists' works in which they attempted to induce the spectator-involvement and J. Tinguely's were compaired. Finally, the cause elements and the formative effect of the spectator-involvement were analyzed. In the methodology, the thesis is based upon documentary records and J. Tinguely's sculptures. The former is about the analysis of the spectator-involvement and 22 works of Tinguely expressing the characteristics were selected. The consequence of this research is as follows. The spectator-involvement is to embody J. Tinguely's formative idea which, says he, "Life is the play, the movement, and the series of changes." First, J. Tinguely was not only contemptuous of the external form of the art aggressively, but also gives he the sublimated meaning to the play. Second, he makes the spectator experience the actual movement of the works and then understand that as an expression of his own life. Third, J. Tinguely expects introduction by the spectator become different relation between audience and space, time as a companion. The formative effect is to let the spectator form the playing space through the direct experience of the movement, and to dissolve the distance between the spectator and the work. The spectator as a partner who experiences the change of the time and space together, forms the integrated space with the sculpture.
