圓을 통한 만남의 形象化

Abstract

인간 삶에 있어서 만남은 보편적이고 기본적인 현상의 하나로, 사랑을 에너지로 한 인간과 인간간의 관계를 의미한다. 현대의 만남의 형태는 일회적이고 표피적인 현상이 심화되어가며, 인간적 교감을 상실한 채 도구화되어 가고 있다. 이러한 만남의 현상을 표현하는 것은 인간과 인간간의 관계성에 회복을 지향하는 의지가 될 것이다. 본 연구의 목적은 현대의 불완전한 인간과 인간의 만남의 현상을 圖의 상징을 이용하여 형상화하고, 분석하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용은 창조적 정신 활동으로서의 예술과 정신의 관계에 대한 이론과, 만남과 의미와 가치를 이론적으로 전개하고 圖의 상징 의미와 표현된 작품들을 목적 표출하여 제시한다. 작품제작은 인간과 인간의 만남을 표현하는데 있어, 개체가 만나 완전한 하나를 이루는 오랜 상징인 원의 형태를 분리, 중첩시키므로서 현대의 불완전한 만남을 형상화하고, 조형적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 문헌조사와 작품제작 및 분석을 병행하였고, 분석 대상으로 제시된 작품은 7점이며, 표현주관에 의하여 나타난 시각적 특성을 중심으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 원의 상징형식을 이용해 심리적인 교감을 갖지 못한 채 상실되어가고 있는 현대의 인간과 인간의 만남을 주관에 따라 표현하는 과정에서, 첫째, 인간으로부터 파생되는 만남은 思惟하고, 갈등하는 불완전한 인간자신의 내적인 만남과 타인과의 심리적 단절로 표피화된 외적인 만남으로 구체화되어 표현되었다. 둘째, 내적인 만남은 mass 내부에 형성되는 line과 space의 流動的인 흐름을 강조하였고, 외적인 만남은 mass와 line의 긴장 속에 외부지향적 공간으로 강조되었다. 셋째, 완전한 하나의 상징인 원의 형태를 절단하므로서, 불완전한 현대인의 만남을 형상화하였다. 넷째, 절단된 원은 직선과 곡선, 둥근절단면, 반원의 공간을 갖는다. 다섯째, 직선과 곡선, 둥근 절단면, 반원의 공간을 중첩시키므로 mass line, space의 조형적 특성을 얻고, 그것은 각각 힘, 힘의 방향성, 지향의지로 표현되었다.;With the loss of humanity and the absence of spirituality which the industrialization, mechanization and the chaos of values have brought about, modern society is faced with the cultural crisis. In this conflicting and disintegrating society Losing its way in the middle of pluralism and speritual decay. art as a spontaneous activity demanding the imagination and whole mind of the artist and as a meaningful form and symbolic language, requires to express the true language of the times on the assumption that there exist the human will and creative activity of spirit that search for order. In human Life, 'meeting' is both universal and inevitable phenomenon. Originally it signifies human relationship requiring love as its energy. But meetings in modern society are more and more becoming momentary and superficial. It is getting distorted into the means which has nothing to do with the real sympathy with and understanding of other human being. So, to expose the distorted forms of 'meeting' is a expression of will pursuing the restoration of true relationship. The purpose of this study is to analyze and embody the phenomenon of 'meeting' by using the symbol of circle. The contents of this study is to unfold the relationship between art and mind, significance and value of 'meeting' and symbolic meanings of circle theoretically and also to present the works selected arbitrarily. In producing the works, I tried to analyze and embody plastically the incomplete and distorted 'meeting' of our time. As for the method of this study, I carried out the bibliographical study and production and analysis of the works simultaneously. Seven works were presented as the subjects of analysis, which were analyzed focusing upon the visual characteristics revealed through the subjective expression. In this study I tried to subjectively express the meetings among men who are losing the ability to sympathize with one another. The results found through this process are as follows : First, meeting derived from man is expressed and embodied into two types - inner meeting of man with his own self who always speculates and conflicts, and outer meeting with another person that reveals the psychological severance. Second, as for the inner meeting, the flux of line and space which is formed in the inside of mass was emphasized, meanwhile outer meeting was emphasized by outer-directed space that is in the state of tension between line and mass. Third, alienated meeting in modern society which make it impossible for man to sympathize with his fellow human beings are embodied through the severance of circles which have traditionally been the symbols of the Whole One. Fourth, severed circles have the characteristics of straight line, curved line, circular section and the space of semicircle. Finally, overlapping of the straight line, curved line, circular section and space of semicircle achieves plastic qualities such as mass, line, space, and each of them in turn reveals power, direction of power and will of aspiration.
