선의 방향성에 의한 도자조형 연구

Abstract

예술은 엄밀한 뜻에서는 막연한 것으로부터 限定함 즉, 윤곽으로 이르는 道程에서 시작되는 것이다. 그리고 역사적으로 최초의 예술은 윤곽으로부터 시작된다. 선은 가장 오래된 예술의 매개체로서 자연 속에서는 별로 시각적으로 큰 역할을 하지 않으나 일단 그리거나 또는 만드는 造形 속에서는 매우 중요한 시각적인 역할과 작용을 하게 되는 것이다. 예술에게 있어 선은 표현을 위한 매우 풍부한 수단으로서 최소한의 노력으로서 모든 정서나 분위기를 나타내 줄 수 있는 의미를 지니고 있다. 그러므로 본 연구는 무한한 다양성과 표현력을 가지고 있는 선을 사용하여 도예로써 조형화 하고자 하며 이를 위한 이론적 배경으로 선에 대한 개념과 선의 종류 및 특성을 고찰해 보았고 특히 선이 가지고 있는 속성 중에서 방향성을 탐구하여 이를 작품제작의 근거로 삼았다. 일반적으로 선이 길이나 경계를 의미하는것 외에 많은 표현의 의미를 가지는데 그중에서도 보는이의 정서적 반응을 일으키도록 유발하는 선의 방향성을 강조하고자 이를 수직, 수평, 사선의 방향으로 구분하여 작품제작을 하였다. 또한 선의 방향에서 느껴지는 정서를 효과적으로 표현하기 위하여 직선과 곡선을 복합적으로 사용하였으며 방향감 뿐만아니라 각 선들이 구성됨으로써 생겨나는 변화와 통일감이 조화를 이루도록 하였다. 제작 방법으로는 작품의 형태적 특성에 따라 석고형에 의한 이장주입 성형과 판성형을 주로 하였다. 선이 가지는 자율성과 무한한 잠재적 표현력을 도자를 통하여 조형화함으로써 보다 광범위한 도자예술의 표현 가능성을 모색해 보고자 하였다.;The art is thought to be originated from the trial of making clearcut contour from in a sence ambigous thing. And historically the original art began from such effort. The line as the oldest media of art has not a great role in itself in the nature, but once drawn or placed in the fromation it becomes affecting very important visual role and function. To the artist the line by means of expression art has at least some implication of expressing every emotion or atmosphere with minimal effort. so the purpose of this thesis is to make ceramic art formative by using line which has utmost variations and expressions. This paper also reviews concept of line and its classification and characteristics as fundamental basis. Especially the author tried to find directedness among components of line and to make it as basis of the ceramic constrution. Generally the line has many meanings of expression other than lenghth or boundary, among them the author gave emphsis on the directedness like transverse, vertical, oblique direction to make ceramic formative. As a method of building ceramic, slip casting and slab building were used following its morphological charcateristics. So this article tries to reveal enormous expression abilitics of ceramic art to make it formative by way of using the line which has liberality and unlimiting expression power hidden behind.
