Super realism 조각의 특성 연구

Abstract

현대미술은 과학기술의 도입과 다양한 재료의 선택 등으로 여러 새로운 양식의 출현을 낳았으며 이는 미술사적으로도 많은 변화를 가져왔다. 그러나 20세기 전반기에 걸친 추상주의적 경향이 극단을 향하게 되자 1960년대에 들어와 모더니즘(Modernism)의 한계가 드러나는 위기적 상황에서 미국을 중심으로 리얼리즘의 복귀현상이 Super Realism이라는 이름으로 나타나게 된다. 이는 현실의 일상적인 면을 감정이 배제된 상태에서 냉정하고 정확하게 표현한 것으로 조각에 있어서 그 효과가 더욱 뚜렷이 나타난다. Super Realism 조각은 현대미술속에서 어떻게 그들 나름대로의 진실성의 문제를 표현하고 있는지 그 조형적 특성을 살펴볼 필요가 있다고 본다. 본 연구의 목적은 현대미술에 나타나는 새로운 형상성으로서의 Super Realism 조각의 특성을 찾아보고자 하는데 있다. 본 연구의 내용으로 리얼리즘의 사적배경과 Super Realism의 시대적 상황, 그 전개과정을 알아보고 리얼리즘조각의 흐름과 Super Realism 조각에 나타날 특성을 대표작각인 Duane Hanson과 Johndo Andra작품을 통해 연구분석하였다. 본 연구의 방법은 Super Realism에 관한 연구문헌과 이에 관련된 Super Realism 조각작품을 유의표집하여 분석하였다. 본 연구의 결과로 Super Realism 조각의 조형특성은 첫째, 우리의 일상적 모습을 담고 있어 보다 친근감을 주고 있으며 둘째, 극사실적 묘사는 실물주형(Life-casting)방법을 낳았고 이는 충격의 폭을 확대시키고 있다. 세째, 합성수지와 유리섬유등의 현대적 재료선택은 다양한 표현의 가능성을 높여주고 있고 네째, 인간 본연의 내면 세계를 느끼게 함으로써 우리자신을 돌이켜 보도록 유도하고 있다는 점 등이다.;Introducing scientific technology and utilizing the various materials, the various and new forms have appeared in modern art and it has varied history of art so much. Meantime, trend of abstractionism throush first half of the 20th century went to an extreme and the limitation of Modernism were reached. In this critical situation, in 1960's, the trend returning to realism were arised in the name of Super Realism, centering around the U.S.A. Super Realism represents reality of everyday life in exact and scathing way excluding sentiment and the effect are more distinguished in sculpture. It seems neccessary to reseatch the formative character through which Super Realism sculpture in modern art, represents theme of truth in their ways. The purpose of this study lies in researching the character of Super Reallsm sculpture as a new form in modern art. In this study, the historical back ground of realism, periodical situation of Super Realism and development process are studied and changes affected by realism sculpture and the nature represented by Super Realism sculpture are studied and analyzed to research the character through the works of Duane Hanson add John de Andrea, representative superrealist. The basis of this study are analyzing the research papers for Super Realism, and related realism and Super Realism works. As a conclusion of this study, I hereby summarize the character of Super Realism sculpture as below; the first, it gives us a feeling of intimacy since it represents our everyday Life, the second, for the more realistic description, life casting method is introduced and it expands the effect of impact, the third, it practices various presentation through the selection of modern materials such as polyester resin and fiberglass, the forth, it bring our feelings into the inner world of a human being to reflect ourselves.
