Optical Illusion效果를 응용한 陶磁表現硏究

Abstract

오늘날 科學의 發達에 의해 많은 變化를 겪은 藝術은 다양한 形態와 함께 여러 表現方式을 띠게 되었다. 또한 現代의 造形藝術에 있어서 다양하게 活用되고 있는 幾何學的 形態의 표현방식은 조형적 측면에서 끊임없이 전개되고 있으며 이러한 기하학적 形態와 패턴의 방법을 통해서 인간은 視覺的으로 특수한 美的體驗을 경험하게 되고 이러한 特殊性은 美의 本質的 純粹性을 내포하는 感覺으로 대두되게 되었다. 따라서 本 硏究의 目的은 陶磁藝術을 통하여서도 이러한 視覺的 效果를 表現하고자 하였으며 먼저 옵티칼 일루젼(Optical Illusion)에 대한 一般的 考察을 통한 槪念의 理解와 함께 그것이 人間의 視知覺에 비추어지는 몇가지 類型들을 살펴보았고 다음으로 선의 特徵과 性質 가운데 옵티칼 일루젼(Optical Illusion)을 일으키는 여러가지 특수한 效果에 대해 연구하여 이를 作品製作에 表現하고자 하였다. 또한 이미 先行製作 되어진 造形的 事例들 중에서 옵티칼 일루젼(Optical Illusion)의 效果를 나타내는 작품들의 例들을 硏究하여 그 표현 방법들을 살펴보았다. 작품의 製作方法으로는 石膏型을 이용한 泥奬注入 技法을 선택하여 입체로 이미지를 구성하고 그 형태에 따라 적절하게 여러가지 着色顔料를 添加하였고 일루젼을 表現하기 위한 表現處理 방법으로 象嵌技法을 利用하였다. 상감기법은 기하학적인 선을 處理함에 있어서 이러한 옵티칼 일루젼 (Optical Illusion)을 표현하기에 매우 效果的이었다. 그리고 작품의 특성에 따라 투명유를 표면에 얇게 噴霧하여 시유하였다. 이와같이 본 硏究者는 오늘날 造形藝術에서 이미 커다란 위치를 차지하고 있는 옵티칼 일루젼(Optical Illusion)效果를 응용하여 새로운 陶磁藝術의 창작을 모색하려 하였으며 현대의 도자조형물에서 象嵌技法을 再活用 함으로써 傳統과의 새로운 만남을 발견하였다. 또한 이러한 다양한 경험을 토대로 硏究者 자신의 內面世界를 구체화 하고 그 영역을 擴大하는 계기가 되고자 하였다.;Through the development of technology, the aspect of art today has exhibited diverse ways of presentation as well as various form. Continuous employment, application and development of geometrical form have been popular in plastic arts, and through these geometrical form and patterns, a man comes to experience visually paticular aesthetic experience of which particularity containing the essence of aesthetics, comes to be prominent. The aim of this report are as follow: It examines the idea of the optical illusion along with its typical types reflected on human visual perception. With a consideration on several particular elements causing optical illusion, it seeks to apply them in ceramics. It searches for the ways of presentation and expresion of the effects caused by the optical illusion through individual examples in ceramics. A slip easting technique using Gypsum mold which helps to embody the concept is adopted, and in harmony with this form, various under glaze stains are added. As an effective method in surface decoration, an inlaid line method is chosen, inlaid line method is effective to express opticual illusion which utilizes geometrical lines, and according to the nature of the work, transparent glaze has been thing sprayed. In conclusion, this report seeks to search for new aspects in ceramics, through rediscovering and employing the effect of optical illusion, a well-Known element in other fileds of art today. The applying inlaid line method to modern plastic works makes it possible to get new incounter with the tradition. On the basis of this, it also aim to visualize and enlarge the investigator's conception.
