Niki de Saint-Phalle 조각의 조형적 특성

Abstract

本 硏究는 Niki de Saint-Phalle의 作品에 나타난 造形的 特性을 硏究하는데 그 目的이 있다. Niki de Saint-Phalle은 傳統的인 社會制度와, 嚴格한 宗敎의 禁忌에 억눌려 발생된, 精神疾患의 克服을 위해 藝術에 入門하였다. 결국 Niki de Saint-Phalle의 작품은, 자기 자신에 沒頭해 보고 싶은, 內部의 欲求로부터 비롯되었고, 또한 自我를 찾는 過程 중에 이룩된 것이다. 本 硏究를 展開시켜 나아감에 있어 서론에서는 硏究의 目的, 內容方法을 제시하고, 本論을 크게 네부분으로 나누어 Ⅱ장에서는 Niki de Saint-Phalle의 藝術觀을 超現實主義 美學과의 聯關關係를 통하여 超現實主義가 관심을 두었던 原始的인 것, 無意識의 精神的인 것, 幻想的인 것, 實存的 人間性에 관한 것들이 Niki de Saint-Phalle의 작품에 어떻게 나타나는가를 살펴보았다. Ⅲ장에서는 Niki de Saint-Phalle이 新寫實主義 그룹안에서 보여주었던 사격조각과, Assemblage작품의 분석을 통하여 偶然性이 Niki de Saint-Phalle의 작품에 어떻게 나타났는가를 밝혔으며, Ⅳ장에서는 고대 멕시코 조각과 Venus of Willendorf의 특징을 考察함으로써, 이들 고대조각에서 나타난 豊饒와 多産의 상징으로 여체의 胸部와 腎部를 크게 强調시킨 것이 다시 Niki de Saint-Phalle이 추구한 여신상 Nana들에게 原始的 象徵性으로 나타남을 밝혔다. 그리고 Ⅴ장에서는 Niki de Saint - Phalle의 必生의 꿈이 었던 Tarot-Garten에서 Tarot의 由來와, Tarot-Garten안에 세워진 작품을 分析하여, Niki de Saint-Phalle의 작품 전체에 흐르는 모든 조형적 특성이 綜合된 建築性을 밝혀 내었다. 이러한 硏究의 結果를 토대로 結論에서는 모든 藝術의 範疇를 拒否하고 機械約인 반복으로부터, 自由와 獨立을 지켜나간 Niki de Saint-Phalle작품의 조형적 특성은 우연성, 원시적 상징성, 건축성으로 나타나며, 동시에 이것은 Niki de Saint-Phalle의 純粹하고 廉開한 幻想의 샘으로부터 이룩된 것임을 確認하였다.;The purpose of this study is to examine the formative characteristics of Niki de Saint-Phalle's works. Niki de Saint-Phall entered the field of art to overcome her mental disorder outbroken from the suppression of the traditional social system and strict religious tabu. Therefore, her works came out from the inner desire to be wholly absorbed in herself and search for her own self. To develop the point of this study, I have presented the purpose, content and method of this study in the introduction part, and divided the main discourse into four broad chapters. The second chapter deals with Niki de Saint-Phalle's view of art and how such things as primitiveness, subconscious mentality, fantasy and existential humanity are represented through her relation with Surrealistic aesthetics in her works. In the third chapter, thrush analysis on "Scieβbilder" sculpture (shooting sculpture) which Niki de Saint-Phalle produced when she engaged herself in the movement of New Realism and other works of assemblage, I have investigated how casuality made up her works. In the fourth chapter, ancient Mexican sculptures and Balendorf's "venus" have been examined. In those sculpture, women's breasts and buttocks are exaggerated into very big ones to symbolize their abundance and fertility. And again, the goddess statues of Niki de Saint-Phalle titled "Nana" reveal such primitive symbolism of woman's fertility. And in the fifth chapter, the origin of "Tarot" sculpture from Tarot-Garton which had been Niki do Saint-Phalle's lifelong dream and work in the Tarot-Garton have been analyzed. Consequently, all the formative characteristics of Niki de Saint-Phalle's works as a whole show certain synthesized architectual quality. In the conclusion part, based on very results of this study, the following fact has been revealed ; the formative characteristics of Niki de Saint-Phalle's works can be summariEed as casuality, symbolism and architectual quality freed from all the conventional artistic categories and at the same time they come out from pure and broad fantastic resources.
