황해도 대동굿 춤의 연구

Abstract

오늘날 무용의 토대가 되는 巫儀式은 원시시대 즉, B. C. 3∼4세기경부터 자연적으로 발생되어진 종교의식에서부터 출발하였다. 이 의식은 독특한 종합예술의 형태(노래와 춤, 극적인 구조, 무신도등)를 지켜왔으며, 시대가 흐름에 따라 미술, 문학, 음악, 춤등으로 분화되었지만, 아직도 전승되어져 오는 굿에서 그 흔적을 엿볼 수 있겠다. 굿에는 개인초복의 굿과 부락공동체의 굿이 있는데, 황해도 대동굿은 바다를 삶의 터전으로 하는 실향민들이 모여서 안녕과 풍어를 비는 마을굿이다. 대동굿은 총23거리로 이루어져 있으며, 그중 세경돌기와 문잡아돌음, 전거리에 걸쳐 나타나는 배치기풍장등은 일반 개인굿에서는 볼 수 없는 지역수호의 의지와 함께 마을굿만이 가지는 독특한 거리라고 하겠다. 춤의 특징은 청신·오신·송신의 의미를 담고 있는 춤사위, 단순하면서 반복적인 동작, 어깨춤과 고갯짓의 발달, 섬세하면서 힘찬 발디딤, 호흡과 힘의 조화로운 안배(按配), 神의 성격을 모방한 연극적 몸짓의 춤으로서, 이는 작위(作爲)하지 않은듯한 자연미와 무기교의 기교, 신명에서 분출된 생명력이라고 볼 수 있다. 또한 대동굿춤이 가지는 기능은 神과 인간사이의 다리역할을 하여, 인간의 바램을 들어주는 수단으로서의 춤인 종교적기능과 神人合一의 목적을 가진 춤으로서 예능·오락적기능, 그리고 우리춤의 원초적 형태인 대동결속(大同結束)으로서의 사회적기능으로 나눌 수 있다. 특히 사회적기능으로서의 대동굿춤은 개별화되고 있는 오늘의 상황에서 고대의 "晝夜群聚飮酒歌舞"의 한 형태로서. 온 주민들이 한데 뭉쳐 삶에 응어리를 풀면서 맛보는 일체감(一體感준)의 정서를 내포하고 있다는데 그 가치가 있다고 하겠다. 따라서 대동굿춤은 우리춤의 근원적 정서를 저변(底邊)에 간직하고 있는 원시적 예술형태를 지니고 있어, 이를 근거삼아 볼 때 현대 예술형태의 모태라 할 수 있다. 또한 굿판에 참가한 행위자(무당)와 피행위자(마을사람들)를 한마음으로 묶어주는 대동굿춤이야말로 오늘의 시각에서 재조명하고 평가하여, 무대 예술의 표현방법에 있어서 관람자와 행위자간의 거리를 한층 더 좁힐 수 있는 지표가 될 수 있을 것이다.;This thesis attempts to bring a new light on Dae-dong Gut (Exorcism) as the one which performs a social function to tie up the performer (a shaman) and the audience (the village people). This study may also provide an index to bridge the gap between the performer and audience in the means of representation of stage art. The rite of exorcism which is the base of modern dance has started from the naturally born religious ritual in the primitive time, around B.C. 3-4. This type of rite kept the form of synthetic art-singing, dancing, dramatical structure and Shamanism paintings .Although it became classified into the fine arts, literature, music, and dance as time flows, we still can observe its trace in those transmitted rites of exorcism, namely the "gut". In gut, there are two types of exorcism-one for individual welfare and the other for the community. Daedong Gut which I have studied is belong to the second type of exorcism which specifically prays for welfare of the village and for a big haul of fish. It is composed of 23 geori (sections) in total and has a taint of dualism of rite and festive in the mixture of gorgeous costumes, stage props, comicial talks, dramatic gestures, "aemilriyang" sound of the fishermen, and plenty of dancing movements. The elements of dance in Daedong Gut have potentials to sublime as an art. The artistic distinctions of gut are natural beauty which is not likely done artificially, techniques without intention, and the liveliness which is gusted from sinmyeung, a kind of diety. The function of Daedong Gut is trifold : religious, entertainmental, and social. Among the three, social function has its value by including the emotion of unity and identity while all of the village people undergoes katarsis of gut together. This point is even more valuable to us who live in the dry society of today. Therefore, dance in Daedong Gut has the primitive artistic form which keeps on a fundamental emotions in its essence. In this sense, Daedong Gut dance can be viewed as an origin of the form of modern art.
