무의식 세계의 표출을 위한 표현 연구

Abstract

There is a term 'muse over'. To me, this term leads me an approach into the hidden aspects under the disclosed characters. People, things, affairs, environments, and even myself may be characterized or defined by simple phrases. However, would not there be many other receded images covered by the disclosed characters? I have tried tracing to its origin from which two or more meanings disclosed, with the keen interests to look into the other undisclosed images. What are the ones which constitute the origin? It is known there are two domains in the human minds: the conscious and the unconscious. I think we can find other sides of the worlds of people, things, and even myself through approaches with the understanding the conscious as what common people perceive and comprehend, and the understanding unconscious as what residing deep inside the mind which is unable being perceived on ordinary daily life. Are these two domains reciprocal and contradictory each other? I do not agree. I think we can reach to the conscious through the tunnel of the latent unconscious. Because I believe the diverse fragments of the conscious synthesized by various external factors have sunk and banded together in the domain of the unconscious affecting each other and contributing to the complemental relationship. I began my work with the interests to the 'other meanings' which have been added to the subjects. My aim is to express "the images of the conscious and the unconscious" together on a picture. This article is a trial of research for the worlds of the conscious and the unconscious helped with the theories of the psychoanalytic aspects. I have enquired the process of the forming through which the figures are ultimately achieved. I used the technique of free lines, ink marks and colour spots to express the world of the unconscious. And the moderations and the orders of the conscious world are expressed by the geometric partitions and the 'collage' technique. The pictures are made enhancing the characteristics of the Chinese ink which is the basic material of the oriental fine arts. I tried to observe the problems arisen so far by analyzing my works, and to take the opportunity of regulating my works.;'곱씹어 본다'는 말이 있다. 본인에게 있어서 이 말은 '겉으로 드러난 것'의 감추어진 면을 들여다본다는 의미로 다가선다. 본인 주위를 에워싸고 있는 사람들, 사물들, 분위기 심지어 본인 자신까지도 '이러 이러하다.'라는 한마디로 특징지어질 수 있다. '그러나, 이러한 대표적인 의미 때문에 사그라드는 또 다른 모습이 얼마나 많겠는가?' 본인은 이러한 '또 다른 모습'에 관심을 두고, 두 가지 또는 그 이상의 의미를 파생시키는 근원을 찾아보기로 했다. 그렇다면 '근원이 될 수 있는 것은 무엇일까?' 사람의 정신 속에는 의식과 무의식의 영역이 존재한다고 한다. 보통 사람들이 보편적으로 지각하고 깨닫는 자체를 '의식' 이라 보고 일상의 정신 상태에서는 감지 할 수 없는 마음의 심층을 '무의식'이라 할 때, 이 두 가지 정신 활동에 의하여 '사람, 사물, 나아가 자신의 또다른 세계를 발견할 수 있을 것이라 생각해 본다. '그러면 이 두 세계는 상반되고, 모순되어 도저히 합일될 수 없는 영역일까?' 이에 대한 본인의 대답은 긍정적이지 않다. 잠재되어 있는 무의식이라는 터널을 통해 의식에 도달할 수 있고, 여러 가지 외부 요인에 의하여 생성된 의식의 편린들이 뭉쳐져 무의식으로 가라앉아 서로 작용함으로써 상호 보완적인 관계가 성립될 것이라 믿어지기 때문이다. 본인의 작업은 하나의 실체에 부가되는 다른 의미에 대한 관심에서 출발하여, 이를 파생시키는 '의식과 무의식의 image'를 화면 위에 표현하는데 그 주안점이 있다. 이에 본 논문에서 본인은 의식과 무의식의 세계를 정신 분석학적 측면의 이론들을 수용하여 탐구해 보았으며 본인 작품에 있어 의식과 무의식이 어떠한 형식을 띄고 형상화되고 있는지 고찰해 보았다. 작품의 표현 방법에 있어서 본인의 무의식 세계를 표출하기 위한 작업으로 자유로운 선, 묵흔과 색얼룩을 이용하였고 의식 세계의 절제와 질서를 드러내기 위하여 기하학적 공간 분할과 꼴라쥬 기법을 사용하였다. 표현 재료로써 동양 회화의 기본 재료인 '묵'의 특성을 살려 화면을 구성하였다. 이러한 결과로 얻어진 작품을 분석함으로써 나타나는 문제점을 알아보고, 본인의 작품 세계를 정리하는 계기로 삼고자 한다.
