지역축제의 무용공연의 발전 방향에 관한 연구

Abstract

본 연구는 지역축제에서 무용공연의 역할과 중요성을 인식하여 현재 우리나라 지역축제의 무용공연 현황을 살펴봄으로써 그에 따른 문제점을 인식하고, 지역축제의 활성과 발전에 기여할 수 있는 무용공연의 방향을 도모하는데 그 목적이 있다. 지역축제는 좁게는 지역과의 역사적 상관성 속에서 생성 · 전승된 전통적인 문화유산을 축·제화한 것이고, 넓게는 문화제·예술제·전국민속예술경연 대회를 비롯한 각 지역의 문화행사 전반이 포함되는 것이다. 지역축제는 지방자치시대의 개막과 더불어 지역 활성화의 취지아래 특정지역의 역사와 전통의 연관성 속에서 지역민과 함께 호흡하게 되었고, 거기에 차별화된 의의를 갖게 되었다. 지역축제는 지역사회를 변화시키며 많은 효과를 창출해 내는 수단이 되는 동시에 현대 문화예술의 발전적인 모습으로서 많은 양적 팽창을 이뤄 냈으나, 지역주민의 참여나 문화욕구의 충족, 지역의 고유성 고취 등과 같은 축제의 완성도나 부가가치, 지역의 경쟁력 강화 등의 면에서는 아직 미비한 실정이다. 현재 지역축제의 활성을 위해서는 축제의 예술적 측면이 심화되어야 하고, 지역의 고유성과 축제의 정체성이 고려된 종합적인 문화의 장이 되어야 한다. 따라서 무용계가 축제에 능동적으로 참여함으로써 축제의 활성을 가져 올 수 있고 더불어 무용의 국제화까지 끌어올 수 있는 것이다. 이러한 지역축제에서의 무용공연의 중요성의 인지 하에 크게 광역자치단체별, 개최시기별, 개최목적별, 프로그램구성별, 무대공연 장르별, 행사별로 분류하여 무용공연의 현황을 살펴보고 그 안에서 문제점을 파악하고자 하였다. 그 결과 축제 안에서 무용공연이 지역간, 시기간 편차가 크게 나타남을 알았고, 그 개최 목적도 행사 취지에 부합하지 않으며, 본 행사에서도 잘 찾아볼 수 없는 프로그램상의 문제점 등을 안고 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이는 축제 자체가 안고 있는 문제점과 맞물려 해결해야 할 과제로 대두되었다. 이에 따라 지역축제 본래의 취지와 목적에 부합하는 축제의 활성을 이루기 위해, 현재의 모습을 지양하는 발전적인 무용공연의 방향으로서 첫째, 축제의 주체가 되는 대중에의 접근성을 높일 수 있는 방법으로 '축제의 개최목적과 일치하는 무용공연으로의 접근', '지역주민 참여 프로그램의 확대' 둘째, 지역축제의 생명이라 할 수 있는 지역의 고유성 고취를 위한 '무용 문화의 지역별 특성화 및 활성화', '무용 프로그램의 지역성(차별성)고취' 셋째, 지역 축제 자체가 안고 있는 가장 두드러진 문제의 본질적인 해결을 통한 방법으로서 '개최시기의 개방, 분산을 통한 무용공연의 시기편중 해소' 등을 제시하였다 결론적으로 지역축제에서의 무용공연은 축제 자체에 많이 좌우 될 수 밖에 없다. 따라서 지역축제 자체의 활성이 무용공연의 활성을 위한 밑거름이 되어야 한다. 종합적으로 지역축제 안에서 무용은 지역의 발전과 무용계 자체의 발전에 지대한 영향을 미칠 수 있음에도 불구하고 그 중요성에 비해 활발하지 못했다. 위의 방향이 축제에서 무용이 안고 있는 문제를 완전히 해결하지는 못하더라도 우리의 축제 문화속에서 무용의 다각적 활성과 발전을 모색하는 동시에 일반 대중에게 크게 기여할 것으로 기대된다.;This study has been carried out to perceive the significance in the role of repertory dance performances at regional festivals in Korea. Investigating the present state, it is expected to unveil further problems to be fixed and to prepare the basis for a presentation of the way to further contribute toward the development of repertory dance performances at regional festivals. In narrowed sight, regional festivals can be defined as an subject that became to carry traditional legacy, which was created and handed down from generations to another in the history and festivalization. In broadened sight, a regional festival is a category that includes various cultural events such as culture festivals, art festival, national competition of falk arts and many others that are being held in regions through out the country. As the self-government autonomy in Korea began, regional festivals has agreed on tune with the people of the region within the correlation of the history and the tradition of the particular region in the purpose of regional development. Therefore, regional festivals have gained a significant role in current society. Regional festivals have become a tool, which brings a huge effect and changes to the regional society itself by making and showing progressive modem culture and art, and a lot of quantitative expansion. However, it has been still insufficient when it is considered in the aspects of participation of people of the regions, reinforcement of the local economy, inspiration of peculiarity of the region, competition among different regions, satisfaction of the cultural desire, value-added, and degree of completion of festivals. In a bid to activate the current regional festival, the facet of the artistic should be deepened and the peculiarity of the region and the real identity should be ended up to the place of the complex culture after duly consideration. Accordingly, by participating on the festival in an active manner in the dance sector the activation regarding the dance festival can be brought and moreover it can bring up to the level of the international sphere. Recognizing the significance of dance performance in regional festivals, this study is designed to show the present situation of dance performances, classified in type, genre, and functions. As a result, it was discovered that in festivals, dance performances variated according to regions and time and the aim of holding dance performance did not coincide with the purpose of the whole events. Also, there were many undiscovered problems in this present event, from the standpoint of programs. According to this, to activate festivals which fits in with the primary intent and object of regional festivals, the study suggests activation and characterization of dance culture by regional groups, and a settlement of diversification of dance performances in terms of time are to be considered strongly. In addition, modifying dance performances to correlate with the original theme of the festivals, differentiating dance programs depending on each different regions, and expanding programs of participation of people in the regions are the ways to head for. In conclusion, despite the fact that dance performance in regional festivals can exert great influence on the development of the specific regions and the dance world itself, it has not been activated comparing to its importance. Even if the solutions suggested above can not solve the problems which dance performances have in regional festivals, it is expected to grope for diversified activation and development of dance performances in regional festivals and to appeal to the public at large simultaneously.
