묵(墨)의 우연성에 의한 추상적 표현 연구

Abstract

With the rapid developments of diverse social structures and scientific improvement, the 20th century's contemporary paintings have been developing using abstract expressions. Unlike the artists of the past who remade the things from the real world by painting them ,as real as possible, now painters are reforming their subjective world on the canvas using various abstract expressions that are derived from their emotional background and imaginations. Painters naturally create artworks using various symbolic expressions and instinctive impulse to create. Painter's freedom to create enables the limited space of a canvas to become something that has an unlimited potential to from a new piece of the painter's subjective expressions. In this study, I intend to explain how I expressed my inner world with the diversity of my subjective thoughts using Abstract Expressionism as a theoretical background. Here I explain how Automatism has been applied to my works. I studied the how the formative aspects have influenced contemporary Korean abstract paintings through examining the abstractness of my works. Also, the accidental abstract expressions made with the composition of water, Chinese ink and oriental paper is viewed objectively. Although utilizing the space done in the very subjective way, how the accidental expression was used to represent my emotional background is analyzed objectively in this study. Accidental touches of the brush and division of space along with limited number of colors and. untouched space are the means to express my emotions in the works. Here I stud the new abstract space I created with the composition of all these elements. Among the characteristics of water-Chinese ink combination, formative characteristics and mental effects are highlighted in this study with how the combination can shape the idealogical world with the spacial concept of Oriental painting.;미술사에 있어서 20세기 현대 회화는 추상 미술의 표현양식으로 전개되면서 사회 구조의 다양성과 과학 문명의 급속한 발달로 현대 미술 또한 빠르게 변화하였다. 작가는 대상을 재생 한다기 보다는 그 자신의 정서적 배경, 내면적 상태, 개인적인 상상력에 따라 주관적인 세계를 다양한 표현 방법을 통해 화면 위에 재구성하는 추상적 활동이 주를 이루고 있다고 할 수 있다. 이러한 작가의 창조 행위는 자유로운 상징적 표현과 인간의 본능적인 충동에 의한 무의식의 미적 활동으로 재현되어 진다고 볼 수 있다. 화면이라는 제한적이면서도 무한한 가능성을 지닌 공간이 가지고 있는 잠재성에 작가의 자유적 행위로 구성되는 주관적인 공간 구성을 통해 새롭게 형상화되어 지는 것이다. 본 논문에서는 현대 회화의 대표적인 미술 사조인 추상표현주의를 이론적 배경으로 하였다. 특히 본인 자신의 내면 세계와 주관적인 생각의 다양성을 표현하는 수단으로 도출되어진 Automatism(자동 기술법)이 어떻게 작품에 적용되며, 추상성을 반영하는데 그것이 갖는 조형의식을 통해 현대 추상 미술의 배경과 표현 양상들을 살펴봄으로써 한국 추상회화에 미친 영향과 특성을 설명해 보고자 한다. 그리고 동양화에서 사용되어지는 수묵과 화선지라는 재료적 특성을 가지고 표현되는 먹의 우연성을 본인의 주관적인 공간 활용을 통해 무의식적이고 감정적인 표현 방법을 객관적 입장으로 분석 하고자 한다. 또, 작품의 제작 분석에서는 본인의 작품에 주를 이루고 있는 먹과 화선지가 만들어 내는 우연적인 공간 활용과 본인의 내적 충동에 의한 감정표출의 수단으로 쓰이는 주관적인 면의 분할, 선으로 표현 될 수 있는 화면의 자유로운 구성 방법과 색과 여백의 활용을 통해 본인이 만들어 내어 인식할 수 있는 회화의 추상 공간을 연구해 보고자 한다. 또, 수묵이 갖는 본질에서 정신성과 조형성을 찾고 평면적인 화면 위에 구성되어진 시, 공간을 초월한 관념 세계를 동양회화가 갖는 공간 개념으로 어떻게 형상화 시켜가는가를 본인의 작품을 분석해 가는 연구 과제로 삼고자 한다.
