물질의 감각적 시각화(視覺化)를 통한 정신의 표현

Abstract

Current civilization exists on the edge of time. They benefit from the longest history of all those who have lived and died to this point. Thus, those of present day, a modern retains the greatest a mount of memory and evolution of those of the past. Modern Art began with the collapse of a traditional order of value which endowed an apt position to human beings so it is not free, and its result is nonexistent. God already became an abyss to many people long ago, and Friedrich wilhelm Nietzsche(1844 - 1900) pointed out the world without God seems that everything is permitted, and everything has a risk that it become a meaningless thing. Modern Art appears an absolute freedom to those people, and it was an emptiness at one time. We can figure out these facts from "white" art of silence by Kasimir Malevich(i878-1935) or ready-made goods by Marcel Duchamp(1887 - 1968). A nihilistic factor of Modem Art is caused by pursuit of freedom by human beings. To conquest these situation, search existence through a work and visualize the other ,side of mind through a object. My work, a peeling skin, is a metaphorical expression of these theory. There are two problems to express 'peeling skin'. One is the extensional existence by time and space of visual mind through a object and the other is a gap between a object and mind. It is a process of effect to conquest a gap which is for understanding of mind and object. A problem of existence reflects by relationship between mind and object, and it searches return to contents of extension by vertical and horizontal world. A study method is divided into contents and methodological aspects, study of contents deals with a visual process and a result of "Mind". From two faces of methodological aspects, techniques and contents are explained by comparision and contrast. In conclusion, I presented my work and analyzed its contents.;현재를 살아가는 우리들은 모두 시간의 바늘 끝에 있다. 지금까지 살다 간 모든 인간들을 포함해서 가장 오랜 시간과 역사의 축적을 가진 지구의 맨 위에 서 있는 자들이기 때문이다. 그러므로 현대인은 과거의 지나간 사람들보다 내장된 기억과 유전인자를 더 많이 안고 있는 것이다. 그 만큼 자유롭지 못하기도 하지만 과거로부터 자유하기 위해서 끊임없이 추구하며 그 결과는 허무하기도 한 것이다. 왜냐하면 현대 미술은 한때 인간이게 적절한 위치를 부여해 주었던 전통적인 가치 질서가 붕괴됨으로써 비롯된 것이기 때문이다. 신은 이미 오래 전에 많은 사람들에게 '심연'이 되었고 신이 없는 세계에서는 모든 것이 허용되는 것처럼 보이기도 하며 또한 모든 것이 무의미한 것이 될 위험이 있기도 하다고 니체(F. Wilhelm Nietzche, 1884∼1900)는 지적한 바 있다. 현대 미술은 이러한 인간에게 절대적인 자유에의 추구로서 나타나게 된다. 그것은 한때 공허한 것으로 치닫기도 했었다. 말레비치(Kasimir Malevich, 1878∼1935)의 침묵의 '백색' 예술이나 뒤샹(Marcel Duchamp, 1887∼1968)의 '기성품' 등은 그러한 예로 들 수가 있다. 현대 미술에 있어서의 허무주의적 요소는 인간의 자유를 추구함에서 기인한다. 본인은 이러한 상황을 나름대로 극복하기 위해서 작업을 통해 실존을 찾아가며 그것은 물질을 통해 정신이라는 이면을 시각화하여 접근해가는 과정에서 은유적 표현으로 '껍질벗기'로 표현하고자 한다. 물질을 통해 시각화된 정신의 시·공간적으로 확장된 실존에 대한 문제와 물질과 정신 사이의 괴리를 제시하고자 한다. 그것은 정신과 물질을 이해하는데서 생기는 괴리를 극복하고자 하는 노력의 일환이며 과정이다. 본인의 실존에 대한 문제가 정신과 물질에 반영되면서 수직·수평적 세계로의 확장과 그 속에서 자아에로의 깊은 내면의 회귀(回歸)를 모색한다. 연구방법으로는 내용적 연구와 방법적 연구로 나누었고 내용적 연구에서는 '정신'의 시각화 과정과 결과에 대해서 다루고자 한다. 방법적 연구에서는 크게 두가지로 나누어 기법과 내용의 대조와 비교를 통해서 설명하고 끝으로 본인의 작품을 제시하고, 내용을 분석하고자 한다.
