국민학교에서의 마이크로컴퓨터교육 및 활용에 관한 실태조사 연구

Abstract

현대는 급속도로 발전하는 과학 기술 문명에 힘입어 이른바 고도의 정보화 사회로 전환해가고 있다. 이같은 사회에서 컴퓨터는 정치, 경제 및 사회의 제분야에서 그 중요성이 날로 더해지고 있으며 앞으로 일반가정에서의 컴퓨터 사용도 보편화될 전망이다. 이에 부응하여 우리나라의 컴퓨터 교육은 70년대부터 시작하여 새로운 분야로 확장되어 가고 있다. 일반교육으로서 컴퓨터 교육을 정착시키기 위해서는 컴퓨터 교육 요원의 기능강화와 바른 인식에 기초한 컴퓨터 교육체제의 확립, 프로그램의 개발등 많은 연구가 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 일반교육의 초보단계라 할 수 있는 국민학교에서의 컴퓨터 교육실태를 조사 분석하고 국민학교의 컴퓨터 교육발전의 저해요인과 문제점을 밝혀내어 보다 나은 컴퓨터 교육의 바람직한 방향을 모색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 논문은 이론적인 배경 고찰을 위한 문헌 연구와 실태 조사에 따르는 질문지 조사를 중심으로 이루어졌으며, 질문지는 다음의 3가지 영역으로 나누어 현재 컴퓨터 교육을 실시하고 있는 국민학교를 대상으로 하여 조사 분석하였다. 1. 컴퓨터 요원 2. 시설 및 기자재 3. 컴퓨터 교육 현황 조사 결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 1. 컴퓨터 교과를 담당하는 컴퓨터 교육 전임교사의 수가 절대 부족하였으며 자질면에서도 컴퓨터를 전공한 교사의 수는 과반수를 넘지 못하여 나머지는 단기적인 연수를 통하여 교사를 확보하는 경우가 대부분인 것으로 나타났다. 2. 시설 및 기자재 면에 있어서는 조사대상의 전체학교가 마이크로컴퓨터를 설치하여 교육에 활용하고 있었으나 이에 따르는 부속설비들은 재정부족으로 인하여 구비하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 이로 인해 수준 높은 지도나 컴퓨터의 다른 활용이 불가능한 실정이었다. 3. 교육 현황에서는 대부분의 학교가 고학년인 4, 5, 6학년을 대상으로 주당 1시간씩 실시하고 있었으며 참여 학생의 흥미도는 높은 것으로 나타났다. 국민학교에서의 컴퓨터 교육 목적은 학생들이 컴퓨터와의 친숙도를 높여 조작할 수 있도록 하는데에 있었다. 시중에 나와있는 소프트웨어(Software)나 학습교본등은 교사들이 이용하기에 부적합한 면이 많아 별 도움이 되지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과를 토대로 효과적인 컴퓨터 교육을 위해 다음과 같이 제언한다. 1. 컴퓨터 교육 전담 교사의 훈련 및 확보 2. 컴퓨터 교육에 필요한 제반 시설 및 기자재의 확충 3. 교육용 소프트웨어와 표준화된 학습교본의 개발;With the rapid development of modern technology, current society is transmitted into the information society which is flooded with explosively increasing knowledge and information. In the information society, computer has became a necessary tool to cope with this situation. In the face of vital role of computer in our society, many educators insist that school teach computers to elementary school students. Understanding the importance and effectiveness of computer, Ministry of Education encouraged schools equipped with computer and to apply computer to instruction. The purpose of this study is to discover and analyze the current status of microcomputer education in the private elementary schools. This survey instrument was designed to analyze all the aspects of microcomputer education, such as the personnel, facilities and equipment, and the instructional program. The data for the study were collected by means of a uniform questionnaire. The conclusion is as follows: A. Personnel On the whole, personnel were small in number and did not have enough background in computer education. Computer education was mainly carried out by teachers who were only exposed to short-term computer training program. B. Facilities Microcomputers were major instructional computer in most schools. The budget for accessory structure (disc driver, printer, etc.) was not sufficient enouth for adequate education. C. Instructional program. Most of students (4th-6th) had one hour class a week and were very enthusiastic about computer education. Commercially produced software and guidebook were not adequately utilized for achieving effectiveness of education. In order to overcome the current problems and to improve the quality of computer education programs, the researcher suggests as follows: 1) Training and recruitment of qualified computer personnel. 2) Expansion of the instructional facilities. 3) Development of the software and standardized textbooks for high quality instruction.
