기하학적 형태를 통한 은유적 공간 연구

Abstract

One of the major flows of modern art is to suggest individual things as a pictorial subject. Accpeting the general aspects of post modernism, and attitude toward arts in the modern public has appeared as the subject of painting, and the mass media became the focus of discussion as the characteristic of industrialized society and its structural relationship by borrowing the shape of a building. That is, by suggesting the shape symbolizing humans and their communication media and the buildings we can after meet in urban society, I produced my work intended to objectively understand modern life and refresh it. Geometry as a method to visualize the feature or state of modern society, is attitude to reveal the matters of a modern landscape clearly. I tried to image an urban image though simple squares, with its shape and the form of the world as a related meaning in transformed picture. Now we live in a divided city which can be called a geometrical world. Accordingly, I express the problems and meaning in terms of the geometrical world. With this fundamental problem, this thesis is to analyze the contents of the image used by geometrical division through my work, and its methodological aspect in terms of modern painting. This thesis is a production study composed of contents study, method study and the analysis on my work. In the method study, the metaphorical characteristic of city chosen in daily life and an objective attitude related to daily experience are mentioned, and in method study, geometrical division and expanded space are studied. Finally, I'd like to grope for the direction of future work and to take an opportunity of arranging the process of work so far by presenting and analyzing my work.;현대미술은 1970년대 후반부터 다원화의 경향이 등장하는데 이어 1980년대에 걸쳐 다양한 표현양식들이 공존하면서 ‘다원주의’로 특징지워진다. 포스트 모더니즘(post-modernism)이라 통칭되는 이러한 현대 미술의 흐름은 형식의 다양성을 인정하는 동시에 대중 속의 미술로 지향하는 열려진 미술로써 현실에 대한 반영을 그 주제로 이루고 있다. 주변적인 것을 수용하는 포스트 모더니즘적 맥락에서, 본인의 작업은 후기 산업사회의 발달된 문명으로 주변적인 것을 수용하는 포스트 모더니즘적 맥락에서, 본인의 작업은 후기 산업사회의 발달된 문명으로 인해 변화된 현대만의 생활양식과 도시환경 안에서 일어나는 독특한 상호작용에 대해 초점을 두고 있다. 그렇기 때문에 본인은 산업사회에 따르는 구조적 관계라는 주제를 건축구조물의 형태를 빌어 기호적으로 시각화하고자 하였는데 즉, 인간과 인간, 인간과 환경과의 관계소통을 위한 매개물로 상징화시킨 형태나 도시사회에서 흔히 접하는 구조물을 제시함으로써 동시대의 현대 생활을 주관적인 해석으로 환기시키고자 하는 것이 본인의 작품인 것이다. 현대사회의 모습을 가시화하는 방법으로는 기하학적 형태를 적용하였으며, 그것은 「도시풍경」을 압축하여 드러내고자 한 것이다. 현재 우리는 가히 기하학적인 세계라고 할 수 있을 정도로 구획된 형태의 도시환경에서 살고 있고, 따라서 본인은 거대하고, 추상적이고, 획일적인 격자무늬를 띠고 있는 현대도시를 ‘기하학적인 세계’라는 공간으로 가정하고 그와 관련된 현대인의 체험을 전달하고자하는 것이다. 본 논문은 작품제작 연구논문으로서 크게 내용적 연구와 방법적 연구, 본인 작품 분석의 세부분으로 구성되어 있다. 내용적 연구에서는 일상에서 선택한 도시의 은유성과 일상의 경험과 현실의 기호화에 대해 언급하고, 방법적 연구에서는 기하학적 형태분할, 확장된 공간에 대하여 연구해 보고자 한다. 끝으로 본인의 작품을 제시하고 분석함으로써 작업과정을 정리하는 기회로 삼고 앞으로의 작업방향을 모색해 보고자 한다.
